  • The person commentating on this video doesn't know what he's talking about.

First off, importing a ME1 character increases the enemy level and therefore, their difficulty. Secondly, ALWAYS recruit Mordin first, simply because then you can start researching the upgrades for your squad, which is critical! Do NOT try Insanity with a Soldier! Although the Soldier has the most amount of guns, it has the least amount of versatility and absolutely zero CC abilities to enemies with protection.

  • @Wulfric871 lol You don't really know what your talking about.

    1. Importing a ME2 save increases level, not ME1

    2. Getting Mordin or Garrus first...well that depends on your preference so ok

    3. Soldier isn't so much about the guns

    4. One word. Ammo types.

  • @MysteriousAndAwesome My advice is buy shotgun biotic health and shield upgrades. Then bring squadmates thay are capable of taking down barriers shield and armor. Finally, don't charge right into enemy mobs, charge enemies behind cover instead

  • Beat it on insanity with the infiltrator class

  • @Zeduuh i did on soldier class

  • Mass effect 2 insanity was nothing, now mass effect1 that was crazy, goddamn 10 mins to kill a krogan

  • @sbbb0007 nah me2 was harder on me1 u can get to level 60 and kill anyone easily

  • You realize that rapid fire weapons are better against shields than snipers are. LOL

  • Mechs are easy peasy. LoS games fer dayz

  • Kasumi is amazing at taking on all types of enemies. Her Shadow Strike is just too good to ever take anyone else. With Kasumi and a squadmate with the appropriate ammo power, it makes missions alot easier, especially once Kasumi gets her loyalty power.

  • nonono! Squad power usage needs to be OFF. The player is smarter than the AI. There's nothing worse than being in a pinch and having Jacob recharging the pull he just threw at some dude with full shields. My advice-leave squad power usage off, but only if you can think fast and make them use their powers optimally as much as possible.

  • do you guys think the vanguard will help me on insanty? i REALLY dont want to start everything all over again

  • @MysteriousAndAwesome if your comfortable with it. you can beat the game on insanity with any class so long as you understand the strengths and weakness of it. Search around their are some Vanguard videos of people playing on Insanity

  • @MysteriousAndAwesome In fact every class works.

Its more or less cover your way all the time.

With enough powers you can stop the charging enemies and you are fine.

Its still frustrating to die million times if you get swarmed by Husks and the like.

But anything works if properly played.

  • If I get my character to max level and swap to insane will I still be able to still use the same character and still get the achievement unlocked for doing this?

  • @thomascats151 you gotta play from start to finish...beat the game on easy first and unlock the geth shield...start a new game but DONT UPLOAD YOUR PREVIOUS GAME!!! start from scratch and use the geth shield it saves you soooo much anger and frustration

  • @hunterbob21 So, should I just keep going with insanity or lower the difficulty?

  • Tip for Insanity

DONT forget you have a HEAVY WEAPON

  • Who else thinks your squad ai could be smarter? You see a mech coming for you, shouldnt you think to move out the way?! Hehe

  • @lescarpio and the occasionally get out of cover..

  • Don't get me wrong but wouldn't it be a smart idea to always have Miranda in your party on tougher difficulties. She has good squad weapon and health bonuses and works better with WA

  • I love insanity with the infiltrator X}

  • Ring around the rosey

  • Comment removed

  • I just play on Normal... I care about story and character progress alot but I don't want the combat to be dead easy.. hence why I play normal.

  • @CiaranTheHedgehog But you get teh ACHIEVEMENTz!!

  • It's not that hard it's all about tactic and strategy.

  • Use AR on everything.

    Pistol and sniper on armour.

    Anything on health.

So don't waste sniper ammo on YMIR shields...

  • Should have squad power usage OFF for optimal play

  • Any class can be used for insanity but Soldier in my opinion is the best for the 1st insanity playtrhough

  • im going through in like my 9th or 10th walkthrough in the game

doing my 1st one on insanity as a soldier because i figure having all the weapons like the sniper rifle will help alot plus i can use the bonus ability to conver the other side of things

  • oh yah, well what happens if you have a ps3?

  • @yushinzzo Get an Xbox or PC then...

  • I beat the game on Insanity in my 2nd playthrough and i loved it. Game is so fun to play and i enjoyed the challenge because if you run out for 3 seconds in an enemy fight your basically dead. You HAVE to be tactical in the way you handle a situation. Only complaint with playing the game again is the damn mining and having to scan for EVERY UPGRADE AGAIN. If those were fixed the game would of been a solid 10/10 in my eyes

  • @ffinfinity1 Scanning for the minerals is whats keeping me from doing a 3rd play through man. I agree with you, if that was fixed I would definitely play a 3rd time.

  • I heard it's easier to get mordin before garrus. Is that true or is it better to do it as you did?

  • this game looks better on the 360 tbh, i have the ps3 version T^T

  • Soilder so fudging hard for victory

  • heres how you do it pick the vanguard period

  • I NEED THAT ACHIVEMENT

  • i have played all the classes to try and get the "overload, warp, incinerate, ECT trophies so i played all the classes and i gotta say Tech armour is the most useful on insanity, but its still a pain in the arse to beat it. don't read this and expect a cake walk with any one class

  • @silverdragon147 your teammates could of helped with that, just manually use their powers

  • if you gain the loyalty of half of the people in one playthrough then import your character a seocnd time do you have to do the loyalty missions again??

  • @R33pingShadowZ yes you have to

  • i beat this game on insanity as a vanguard w/ reave as my bonus power

  • @TheJackpotOnRs same. vangaurd is really fun and powerfull if you know how to use it right

  • dont know why u r all complaining, u can never make a guide for all classes, i actually appreciate that he gave a guide for the class he knows best, the soldier, even though personally my favorite is sentinel, thank u and keep up the good job

  • Do you have to live at the end of the game to get the achievement? Because I was going to skip all the loyalty missions during my insanity playthrough.

  • I'm really happy because I just beat my insanity campaign as a Infiltrator today..was my 1st playthrough of it and im not sure if I used the best class for it lol..but im still happy..A soldier would have been the best choice for the playthrough?

  • @Killert52 Yes, and no. Some people say yes, but I say either Infiltrator or Sentinel. Sentinel is much more rounded than soldier, and frankly if you just pick the assault training on the collector ship he's even better. Really, no. Soldier isn't a good choice, but it's a meh choice.

  • @Killert52 infiltrator is the easiest class

  • @MrMouse099 awesome lucky i choose it without knowing

  • I always play vangaurd.

  • where's part 3?

  • lol everyone who plays this game has there own favourite classes, techniques and styles of playing. i got the insanity achievement on vanguard, with the barrier abbility.

  • No, the first thing you do is learn how to spell preparation, noob fag.

  • Beat insanity as an Infiltrator......easy ;)

  • @GamersKoolaid you get a code when you buy ME2 i bught mine used and still got one :l

  • I beat insanity as a adept!

    That was hard.....

  • Nice work, man, do u have any advices for someone who prefers sentinel, or engineer?

  • @GamersKoolaid cerberus network

  • what a great video with a great voice, thumbs up buddy with all the endorsements and like I can give!

  • @arowerlikenoother too bad theres no part 3 lol

  • Vanguard ftw

  • lol at the ending!

  • part 3???

  • i don't understand his shields.

They're pretty much the same as the tech armour except without the explosion when depleted.

Does the tech armour take more damage?

  • I like the way you pronounce will and kill.

    WHYLL KYLL!

  • 4:16 - epic "They will kill you!"

  • I've managed to beat insanity on 3 different characters. The only reason Solider is ANY good is because he's got so many goddamn weapons and ammo effects

  • I did this but when i changed difficulty to insanity i didnt do it at the start, i did it at the very first point where we play shep in the burning normandy...please please tell me im still gonna get the achievement??

  • @zenon381 Nope

  • how the hel did he pronounce y-mir??

its based upon norse mythology and since im scandinavian i can do much better.

tbh i dont even know how to tell you guys how to pronounce it.

Actually its the english version of the person, true name is ymer.

  • 3:00 i didnt have to retreat with sentinel...

  • 0:25

theres a glitch with lorik quinn that can max out both meters during one playthrough

  • Just played garrus's mission on insanity. And i thought it was hard on normal!

  • IF you do this now, with the Matlock heavy Rifle and Phalnax Pistol, Dear lord Head Shot Heaven....

  • @MrStokesy1 how do you get those weapons?

  • @volcom0928 Its downloadable content, i cannot remember the name of said pack, but its there somewhere :P

  • @volcom0928 pre order

  • PICK THAT SHIT UP! xD

  • that last bit on the mordin do not go to them after you pulled second switch just wait for all of them to come to you instead at that 2nd switch place. kill them (vorcha and few krogen)and those rocket luncher guys should not appear at all. at least that is how i did it

  • at the freedom progrees big mech tip. just send your squad mates way far towards the end of the map. then he will be confused and then simply keep ordering them to attack him with powers

  • in prefer infiltrator on insanity because your cloak gives you a damage boost and enemies cant hit you at all plus you have incinerate so you can bring Miranda instead of Mordin and her warp and overload are very useful.

  • @spyman178

cant hit? i cloaked in cover and when i came out of cover within a second i was being shot at

  • I have perfected using the mantis. Full sniper upgrades + heightened adrenaline rush + head shot = BOOM

I have the widow but I still use the mantis cause its badass.

  • @bigbad1000do7a Viper works better for Soldier than Infiltrator, Adrenaline Rush boosts all weapon damage (Viper is semi-autofire) while Cloack only boosts one shot (Widow & Mantis are lever-action).

If you think Mantis is badass then Widow is badass^2 :)

Widow has more ammo & way better base damage.

  • @MJ1284 you know I never tried the viper on insanity. Only hardcore. I didnt finish the game on insanity yet either. Just hardcore. But yeah, I gotta try it out with the adrenaline rush.

  • I always use the Soldier Class

Cause it's got all weapons, adrenaline burst, all types of ammo (incendiary awesome), plus with warp ammo you're pretty much unstoppable.

Finished on Paragon with all survivors and my Shepard surviving as well

Can't wait for Mass Effect 3

  • insanity can be nasty if you're at level 30 , which is what i'm doing now as a sentinel.

as your level goes up, the game also levels up .

  • Insanity as a solider is pretty easy. Just snipe until you're out of ammo, then tare up with the assault rifle.

Now Vanguard or an Adept. That's a challenge (the former being the most fun class).

  • I take in everytime the Sentinel

Cause it got the Tech Armor, Warp and Overload

  • @xKlen im trying one with sentinel, since he was a lvl 60 import i have power armor now, and man it is helpful, so far kasumi, and mordin missions, going to start with garrus next time but darn im worried for the blood pack part, my bonus power is stasis.

  • i just beat insanity as a inflitrator

  • Er... spoiler alert for archangel... just a fair warning to new players.

  • is it possible to do this playthrough using a mass effect 2 import and still get the achievement

  • @Tobinatorman yes

  • @orols55 i mean play the game once and use the same character again twice

  • @Tobinatorman yes

  • @orols55 k thnx just wanted to know

  • insanity is (at least on PC) not that difficult... just make sure to stay in cover as much as possible and watch your shields. for me, infiltrator works best because the cloak saves your ass countless times and lets you oneshot enemys without shields. also i would recommend using AP ammo for insanity (+70% dmg against armor and health). shields can mostly be taken down with either one sniper shot or good use of the overload ability of your party members.

  • @H4wk3zz yeah its not hard at all i was a soldier and i did nt find any area of the game hard at all adrenaline rush plus widow maker sniper rifle equalled mass pain and yeah i had a shield restore ability as my extra skill was a walk in the park

  • @H4wk3zz This is exactly what I did, AP Ammo is better than Warp Ammo because most enemies have some sort of Armor but Shields & Barriers are less common. Incinerate is also good to have, it'll chew through armor (and takes down most Shields with two hits) and permanently prevents health regeneration (VERY useful against vorchas and krogans).

Cloack + AP Ammo + Widow deals ridiculous amount of damage, even Geth Primes & Scions and other tough enemies go down fast.

  • @MJ1284 totally, you are completly right in every point you make!

man, i can't wait for mass effect 3 ;) just got my N7 hoodie from biowarestores ... LOVE IT... and totally worth the shipping from usa to europe (austria) ;)

  • can i use my level 30 character to do insanity and still get the trophy/achievement?

  • @12gauge99 yea thats the most reccommended thing to do bc you will die alot of you start a new game on insanity with a level 1 x.x

  • Watched first 6 seconds and them stopped the vid, that guys voice is annoying!

  • i've tried to play through mass effect 1but it's just too damn glitchy...

  • @Darusdei

Just put it on easy, the gameplay part was tedious for me but the story was pretty good

  • @superdogmeatmeat yeah i found two patches which fixed pretty much everything and then i noticed that you can't get max graphics from the gameplay menu so i had to change a settting file.

    was worth it :)

  • Against the mech, just run into the building where Tali is.

  • Yay! I finished the game on insanity today! But i played as a sentinel... it's a great class for insanity cause it got overload for shields, warp for barriers and armor :D

  • Hmmm. Never thought about using warp ammo. Always went with Armor piercing rounds.

  • yimier mechs? lol

  • seriously ive beaten my sixth insanity playthrough and ive got one tip

CHOSE AN ADEPT AS UR CLASS

  • @TheHappyspartan LMFAOOOOOOO FUNNY JOKE BUD! XD

  • this sucks for ps3 pple we didnt have me1 :[

  • @deathwaitsfornoone It's still possible to beat, i'm on PS3 and doing different to this video and i'm not bothering with resources just getting the trophy then i'll go back to normal.

  • @LightningSamus good point i'm trying again its like the last trophy before platnium

  • @deathwaitsfornoone They sum up all the points for ME 1 for PS3 on Dark Horse Comic.

  • @KCChiefsAdams i know i played ME1 on xbox before i switched... my point was you dont get to transfer points and morality points from 1st, im not complaining im just saying

  • @deathwaitsfornoone You get 25 morality points if you went full one way the other. I'd check my stats if I were you

  • @xixJackxix well exuse me...

  • Vanguard FTW!!! Brought my ME1 char over, did the game on Insanity first thing. Thane died on this playthrough.

Ive completed the game 5 times now :)

  • I did this Importing a MAX Lv ME2 Vanguard & Infiltrator, who were Profiles from ME1 Imports.

Vanguard was FUN but hard, but Infiltrator is Best.

  • Widow. Nuff said.

  • yeah i did insanity as a infiltrator wasnt very hard felt like playing mass effect 1 on normal i think i died 1-2 times

  • surprises me of how many people have a hard time with insanity...I played insanity as a senital and even had to check a few to time to make sure I was playing on insanity. If you play as a senital make sure you get some points into warp and overload, then max out tech armor and raider.

  • @sooooooflyyy You literally cannot spell "Sentinel", and your trying to give advice how to play as one? I'm sure you beat it on insanity but not as easy as you (and others) make it out to be.

  • @godsun212

yup, one simple spelling mistake means everything. I suggest trying the game on very easy since your having difficulties sir. these silly guides are not gonna help you.

  • @godsun212 your a fucking idiot.....lol

  • @godsun212 Thank you for not being retarded like everyone else who has commented this video haha.

  • If youre looking to find just what is wrong with ME2, then play this game on insanity. Playing it on an easier difficulty makes the game seem okay, but playing it on insanity.... You realize just how poorly developed and shitty this game is.

  • @DialgaMarine3 I disagree

  • @DialgaMarine3

You could elaborate on what you didnt like. The combat, the A.I, The Story be specific on to what part of development was shitty. Or else it sounds like a rant.

  • @godsun212 My main problem was the AI. Play this game on insanity, and the AI proves to be the biggest fuckin dumbass since Sheva in RE5. I'll admit the storyline is okay and fun to play through, but really, the voice acting in the game can be pretty crappy at times, the graphics felt very very under par, and the visuals were less than satifying. Mabye I'm a little biased on those last 2 points, seeing as the last game I played before ME2 was GoW3. Either, its a good game, just very overhyped.

  • @DialgaMarine3 Bullshit. ME2 was amazing, yeah it was .4 shy of being a 10/10 because of AI, cover, lack of little things and a very orginal RPG but a great game. Graphics, life like.

  • @KCChiefsAdams The graphics really wernt that great, but like I said, thats probably bias on my part because there are graphically superior games to this on PS3 like Killzone, Uncharted, and God of War. Regardless, the AI was terrible, the story felt bland, and for an RPG, it was short as hell. Oh and IGN gave it that score bte, so please dont use their scores seeing theyre nothing but a bunch of 360 biased cock suckers. Killzone 3 was better than Halo Reach by far,

  • Thanks mate, i completed this in about 8 weeks, INCLUDING the DLC, on insanity :D

  • im in the part were you go into a collector ship with infiltrator,

i fucking did a rage quit any one got tips on that mission?

  • @scar432 Bring Squadmate who has powers that can knock enemies off their feet, like Concussive Shot,Shockwave,Inferno Grenade,Flashbang Grenade etc. use those against Husks.

Make sure to bring Miranda for Squad bonus.

AP Ammo is also very helpful, but if you bring Garrus and he has Squad AP ammo, then have Shepard learn Dominate, it instant kill Husks, and if you're lucky, you can have 2 or more collectors fight for you for a brief moment.

The only real problem are Scions.

  • I tried it as a soldier ME2 import (heavy slam as extra power) lvl 30. It was too hard, so i'm now trying to get no-one left behind on veteran. Veteran is way easier than Insanity. I'll try insantity again though, the renegade way. Any tips on which class I should use?

  • stuck on trying to recruit Grunt, the boss battle is a bitch, I thought Infiltrator would be easy. Boy was I wrong

  • @blade9871 bring a missle launcher with as many rounds as possible,or the nuke launcher and that'll kill the bitch and the heavy mech wont follow you if u dont go downstairs so stay up and shoot him

  • is this hard to do with a vanguard?

  • Really, do not play ME1 that game is just crazy bad compared to this. Nice at the time, just don't mess with it now.

  • @QWOOTERS i disagree.... if you're interested in the story.. or you want to import a me1 character to me2... play it, but yeah the gameplay in ME2 is twice better XD

  • /watch?v=wuiXgcXaJgM please watch

  • I just beat it 4 the ps3 and now I have 2 beat on insanity and it's hard plus half of u guys have ME1 data u can use we ps3 players don't have that data

  • @godX20A same, i jus beat it also n now im going bk for the trophys + this is the 1st game i actually happy playin again cuz its worth it, but im anoyed cause i wanted to save every1, the only guy tht died was zaeed and its becoz i cudnt leave those workers behind therefor he lost his guy i didnt gain his loyalty and he died :( so ima hav to do all the loyatly missions on insanity to get both trophys in 1 playthru again :(

  • @SafZako i managed 2 get the no man left behind trophy on my first try and i had jack on normal stats because of the fight between her and miranda but now i think i leave their missions till the end and work on a way 2 fill my paragon up

good luck on the insanity playthrough u will need it

  • @godX20A Actually, most people who play on Insanity use a fresh character that has nothing carried over from ME1 or previous ME2 campaigns because of the way combat scaling works. It's a lot harder playing with a previous character when at say Horizon all the enemies are scaled to level 30.

Because of this, a lot of people don't even use their ME1 profiles when they play ME2, at least not on Insanity. I'm sure there are some who do, but the ideal experience is based around a fresh character.

  • @godX20A

ME1 import data does nothing other than dictate who is alive and dead and who you meet in ME2. a fully leveled character from ME1 grants something like 3 levels, which is easily made up with a normal run, dlc content and the start of an insanity run.

  • My attacks will tear you apart because im assuming direct control

  • @chemical343 in the suicide mission some of your team members ( i think its legion and thane) r gonna get owned while their still on the ship

  • so what happens if you dont get the ship upgrades???

  • Pfft...I hope ME3's gonna be more challenging cause damn Insanity on ME2 is way too easy

  • @V3NOMXIII Yeah, talk is cheap, but do you have a Let's Play series demonstrating how "easy" it is for you?

I've only beat the game on Normal, but it's easy for me to just say, "Yeah man, I agree, ME2 on Insanity was so easy. I beat it without dying a single time or my shields even being fully depleted."

Truth be told, the game is extremely difficult on Insanity. Even the prologue mission can be a bitch, and if you're not careful, you will die easily... and a lot.

  • @b00mQQ did I claim that I didn't die once or have my shield depleted? I died a few times but Insanity difficulty in this game is as difficult as the highest difficulty in gears of war (which is pretty easy). Other than dying a few times, I had no problem plowing through the game in 57 hours. It's a fucking looooong and satisfying game.

  • @b00mQQ I would LOVE to do a Let's Play series to demonstrate how easy this game is but if you look around there are plenty of people doing that already. Still I want to point out that games have been lax on difficulty levels, the only games that gave players a genuine challenge are Demon Souls, Ninja Gaiden, God of War 3, etc. Mass Effect 2 is pretty easy on the highest difficulty if you are playing as a soldier and know how to use Adrenaline Rush and Concussive Shot among other abilities.

  • @V3NOMXIII

Hell yeah man GOW3 Chaos ROCK HARD

  • pronounce ymir, like this. EEEEEE-Meeeer.

    There you go.

  • i hated this game.......no comments anyone

  • All you need to beat this is a level 30 soldier and the firepower pack. The mattock rifle and geth plasma shotgun absolutely tear shit up, and combined with adrenaline rush, you're basically unstoppable

  • really, people need a guide for this?

  • @rayne870 Some do, I reckon. A lot of people don't have endless hours to sit and play these games due to not having a job, and figure out what tactics work best for certain situations. Some people have jobs and families to tend to, and are lucky to get 2-3 hours in a day.

Although, this isn't a real good guide to go by. Importing a ME1 or ME2 character only makes it harder on yourself. The general difficulty from enemy scaling outweighs the perks you start with from an imported character.

  • @b00mQQ

i got by just spamming area reave on an infiltrator. had a few tough points and all but the logic is that anyone going for insanity wouldn't really need a guide for this since they would know the mechanics from a previous play through.

  • warp in vorcha and krogan stops them healing very important

  • is it possible to keep importing a ME2 charecter? Like beat it, import than beat that, and import and so on? It would make the game alot easier because you can unlock all of the collector ship weapons, or atleast the sniper and assult rifle, the shotgun you dont realy need.

  • the easiest way is to complete the game as a soilder and to import the ME2 charecter because you get the weapon from the collector ship

  • Yesterday I played with my character from ME1 (60lvl) and I did same strategy on freedom progress (lol). Now Im on Mordin's mission becouse I want to have acces to upgrades. Normaly short battle now takes more time and you need to focus on your squad. Investing on medi gel is necessary -its pretty hard to be left with no ammo and squadmates against armored/shielded Krogan.

  • Every store on the Citadel tortures me with that soundbit... and yet you saw need to add it here. *shakes fist angrily*

  • Assuming Direct Control...... My Attacks Will Tear You Apart!........ If I must tear you apart Shepard I Will!!!!...........You Feel This......

  • I let Kaiden die in ME1, seemed like a weird douchbag kinda pretty boy. Plus I think Ashley's hot.

  • @RyanKHS06 Yeah, I was actually kind of saddened that Ashley died in ME1. It's kind of depressing for me that almost the entire crew in Mass Effect 2 was completely new, with returns from a few of your old squad members, and the way Kaiden died was just sad. He was my favorite from ME1.

Hopefully ME3 continues with the same crew as ME2. It's kind of neat building relationships over a long period of time with crew members.

  • ROOSTER TEETH IS FUCKIN AWESOME!

  • this will take alloooooooooooot of time to play on insanity !

  • You know, when i imported my ME2 soldier, it gave me all my armor and weapons, including the Widow sniper from the collector ship. Plus, all the resources and credits mentioned from the higher level ME1 import, wh
