Kevin Morgan, You are the man. This is way better than the camaro. Gm stop making boring cars. We need better looking high performance machines. FORD at least did a great job with the Mustang brand. Bring back the Trans am, Grand National, Montecarlos SS and that Transformers sting gray corvette. We are tired of American boring cars this is why Japanese are ahead of us. It's unbelievable that they are getting rid of Pontiac, I mean look at this thing, it's absolutely gorgeous. In my opinion it makes the new camaro look ugly, don't go thinking I hate the new camaro or think it's ugly, but look at this thing.

The Pontiac Brand will phase slowly until it's final month in the end of 2010, It's a very small chance if they bring out a new model in 16 months, it takes time to plan the submodels (stock and high performance), when they will release it, and who's in charge of making the prototype... but hell who knows.

Also, having both a T/A with the small block V8 and the 3 series BMW with the inline 6, I think am can offer my opinion as to which car is better balanced. The T/A was front heavy-almost 60/40. Just think of it with a lighter motor. The proof is the Indy Trans Am, which is the fastest factory T/A of all time, with its magnificently turned V6, not V8.

Since the LS2 is a corporate engine, why not bore and stroke it to a 6.6L and drop it into the T/A, leavin it ONLY to the Trans Am? How does that sound? If someone wants more power, Pontiac can add turbos and other mods to bring back the Turbo T/A. If only GM could consider this.....

No, you are not alone. I looked this up after reading your comment. GM stated VERY PLAINLY there will not be any new Firebirds-PERIOD. They will have a hard enough time selling Camero. Pontiac is to be pulled back on performance as a line. I agree it is weird to see someone lobby a company to do something they do not want to do and to put so much effort into it. IDEA: there a so many cherry T/As out there-restored or kept by the dealer-you want a T/A-BUY ONE! Some don't even have a scratch!

GM - I'd prefer a whole new design if your gonna make another T/A to a wannabe Camaro clone with stripes and a screaming chicken shown by a few "designers". Since that's unlikely to happen - don't build a new T/A. That way, Trans Am went out with a bang and I can put my money into the kid's college funds! My youngest has dibs on 'blackbird' when she gets her drivers license in 2013.

If they start again it will be a Firebird by name, but unrelated to the past ones, so again, why bother or care about this? If GM does do it they are not going to bow to fanboy pressure and use a fan's design anyway. THEY will design it. Any I the only one who thinks that this doesn't look good and more like fan art?
