This is beautiful Andrew. I just noticed that you are a gardener too. Recently, during a time of grief, I re-discovered my own love of gardening. Maybe we could swap tips and compare notes sometime? :)
A photograph evokes something not to be overlooked. Deeply felt and complicated, a loss is a wound that heals but leaves unanswerable questions. I admire your work Andrew.
This brings me to feel like looking at my old albums. Will I feel now the way I once did about my past as I remember it? Both the happy and unhappy events? I think I am more inclined to cling to the happy memories.
@Idlinfarm Fortunately, it is usually the happy memories that prevail. One should always revisit one's past on occasions if only to evaluate one's present.
Great to see more of your pictures, Andrew. I so enjoy your continuing homage to your Dad, a great man, I think. I thought of you and his story last month when I listened to my father-in-law's WWII stories. They are and were a great generation. I love here how one picture begets a question, suggesting other possibilities in your Dad's life and a continuing resonance of his story in yours.
@HerAeolianHarp I think he was a great man, in many small and gentle ways. Whenever I look through his albums I am struck by a person who at the same time seems familiar yet is capable of overwhelming me with surprises.

Sad, but very beautiful - and yes, it is strange how major events sometimes pass us by emotionally, until later...

Photographs are paper doors to the past. Thank you for this very touching upload.
and remember that your father's blood is flowing through your veins. So in fact he is always with you, wherever you go.
