Amazing tune! Anyone know what the tune is with the 'Sally B' phrase is, 'Scabby pig' as it once thought it was many years ag when my brother used to play this 'genre' of music all the tine.
So much debate over the genre just goes to show how influential this track was for so many sub genres of house, garage and bass music. It's too slow to call it drum n bass, but like someone pointed out, that's what was on the label. All that aside, what we should be talking about is the fact that it was used in so many different kind of DJ sets when it came out, and it still could be used in so many ways today. It's perpetually ahead of it's time, no matter when it's dropped.
@SpaceOldskool actually, there were 2 different versions of speed garage that came out simultaneously. american & uk. the american speed garage was very short lived unfortunately. but this would be considered american speed garage. along with the spin spin sugar & prfessional widow AVH remixes. but then if you were truly "old school" you would know this already..
Quite Simply… a top tune from 1997 I think. Love this to bits. I heard a 'Saxophone Version' of this from the 'Luv Dup brothers' as well. Where can I find that version on mp3?
This track was the soundtrack to the times I used go to those under 18 disco's. It brings back memories of drinking vodka in the park, groping girls on the dance floor and running away from chavs... fun times.
this song brings memories 4 sure "DEEP SOUL" 4 eva toughest house dance crew out of lawrence mass/ lowell ma 4 real this song use to make us wild out....
This song takes me back to partying back in London. Twice as Nice at the Colisseum in Vauxhall. A bottle of champs in my hand and bubbling a gyal in the corner of the club. Ahh the good ole days.
im saying, bilal1001! i kinda feel like some of this new "fidget house" style is heavily inspired by the speed garage vibes of the old days. :) which im cool with.
I remember "Prince" Naseem Hamed using this version of the song as his walk-in song when he fought Tom Johnson years back. That being said, I always liked Armand's version of this song.
Esta cancion la escuche hace 16 años por primera vez en un lugar llamado DADY'O en Cancun Mexico, siempre ha sido una de mis favoritas, me trae recuerdos inolvidables.......Gracias romfordj!!!!!!!!
OMG! I remember the DJ playing this song for like 20 minutes straight! And there are barely any words. I could NEVER get enough of it. SUGAR DADDY O SUGAR DADDY O SUGAR DADDY O

the original is great. don't think anybody I ever knew understood this pretty pointless mix tho - and why the fuck did armand van helden label this a "drum n' bass" mix...has about as much to do with d+b as the tune to coronation street...yep, pointless - strictly for the mildest of "clubbers" or whatever they liked to call themselves back then. keep it underground.
OMG..this was such a sick ass beat! This track was so tight! I was such a whore on the floor and the stage boxes to this track. On the real..ah the late 90s. Good memories..
classic and timeless! armands mixes are mostly perfect, never heard such sounds from anyone else. the bullshit sunshine-house of todays compilations are nothing to this!
The transition at the 2:02 to 3:07 marks where the loop fades out and comes back with the Sugar Daddy set me free hook starts is absolutely ridiculous.
Ehm....are you serious? Ok I hate house, but I dont find any relation between the original and this one...just some lyrics.Expected a nice mix, but this one is like the ...mozart's remix? of the cool one XD
You're thinking of the Twocker remix.. I just checked it out while trying to find this.. I dont like it as much.... anyway I found a download link pretty easy on, i think, rapidshare.

haha @ DnB remix ! sounds nothing like it. Wikked Classic though. I remember this track on my Ministry of Sound compilation The Annual Vol 2 going back to 1996. It was professional widow mixed in with Sugar is Sweeter....those two mixed together sounded wikked.
