Most hijackings had a political motivation, and there were demands made by the hijackers. DB Cooper hijacked a plane and parachuted off of it with 3 million. All of the passengers survived the subsequent landing. It seems illogical that the people on the plane would have assumed would be crashed by the hijackers.

@DevildogDean In my entire life (and I am old), this was the first time I ever heard of a hijacking ending this way. Most hijackings had a political motivation, and there were demands made by the hijackers. DB Cooper hijacked a plane and parachuted off of it with 3 million. All of the passengers survived the subsequent landing. It seems illogical that the people on the plane would have assumed would be crashed by the hijackers.

People forget that they attacked people in 1st class first, got into the cockpit, sprayed mace in the cabin at the front of the aircraft (so nobody can get up to them) & locked themselves in the flight deck & never came out.This detail is always forgotten when people ask "why didn't people fight back" the only flight that the hijackers didn't lock themselves in the cockpit was UNITED 93.
