As much as I hate seeing a franchise relocated, what was the point of having a team in Quebec City to begin with?With the Jets, they were the only NHL team in Manitoba.With the Whalers, they were the only pro team in the state.I know states/provinces like Pennsylvania,California, Alberta, and Ontario have multiple teams, but at least the cities are either spread out farther, the population is big or the cities are unique from each other.The Jets is the only team that really needed to return

@gomajorsandgojays the canadian dollar was worth 60 cents US, salaries were skyrocketing, they needed a new arena (still do, but they're building one), and Bettman wanted a big US TV Contract. Yeah, he hasn't gotten it.

The Nordiques move wasn't so bad. Because of the circumstances of being in a French-only city without english newspapers or TV stations at the time. So it was hard to build an American or other Canadians as a fan base. But moving the Jets was a crime.
