This was absolutely brilliant. Your writers are extremely skilled, and the actors were outstanding. They played the part just dry enough to leave a lot of people actually believing that this was a real documentary. Yet the fluid removal scene, and the "Salt, vinegar, windshield washer fluid, and tumeric" was just enough to make a person go "huh, wha??" And Chinchilla White, magnificent! Good job, this is black comedy done right.
Before I graduated from The Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science we watched this in my Funeral Directing II class. As an embalmer I love this video! It is so funny. My favorite part is when they "remove the fluid from the body".
This is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. I think you may have to have some history in the funeral business to fully appreciate it. It's not easy profession to joke about.
To the directors wife - Laugh A Little - I won't kill you and if it does I'm sure your husband will embalm you the "proper way". Lighten Up!
although this can be funny but wtf these ppl think thier pops a fucking cassarole? siphoning blood what if the dead had a bloodborne pathageon? they could have used a electric siphon from a pump, lol
I've never heard of doing embalming at home now days. Like they said before leave it too the professionals. Sucking blood out of a tube, how sick and not too mention the airborne pathenogens and other bacteria..Sick bastard...I thought what the XXck...Let a liscensed embalmer do it or have a closed casket (sealed to be up to date). Of course it cost money, what funeral service does not? Everyone pays for it sooner or later...
As a funeral director/ "professional embalmer" myself I found this video, very darn funny. I couldn't help laughing as he sucked and spit out the blood, the windshield washer fluid about made me lose it completely. Good video, I enjoyed it, Thanks for the good, hard laugh, you need those in this profession sometimes, as for cherylp611, lighten up dear, its just a video, not the true technique, your a watcher, I preform the professional service, you have to laugh sometimes.
As a funeral directors wife, and someone who has watched the embalming process tons of times, I was completely appaulled at watching this video. How someone could think that they could do this at home, then paint the face is the most horrifying thing I've seen or make a joke about it. Leave this job to the professionals, there is a reason they went to school for this, its because they do a good job and deserve more credit for the job. What's next, at home cardiac transplants?
at first i was a little upset by this, then i kind of lightened up. I will say this next time go for a femoral or a carotid atery. That way you don't have ot dig as much to find them
I am attending The Simmon's Institute for Mortuary Sciences this January...I am glad I saw this. Everytime I embalm someone in the future...I will totally remember this and laugh.
Once again, thanks to all those who have been watching out film. We're hoping to be "featured" on the main page, but I believe that's up to you the viewer. So please, tell your friends and post lots of comments. Cheers!
As a licensed embalmer and funeral director I fell I must offer the following comments. What you have shown is an embarrassment and a total lack of respect for us who have attended college and worked countless hours to learn our craft. To suggest a family put their loved one on the kitchen table is unspeakable!!!! I have sat here and watched this twice. I am laughing so god damned hard I am about to have a freaking stroke. Outstanding! Thank you and well done once again!
Thank you for you comments. Glad you enjoyed it. It's always nice to get feedback from professionals in the industry. It speaks well to our attention to detail :)
I'm glad you finished your comment the way you did..because I was going to have to tell you to lighten up!! LOL You have to have a sense of humor in this business..
Great video, you just need to change it to 240p on the control/play bar.

Very well done. Just remember if you do this at home and do it wrong, your `body' might become a Zombie... LOL

It's pretty good for a film school student project. But siphoning the blood. How ignorant and hilarious.

Hilarious, great funeral humor. I've actually had clients asked me if they could do it themselves.

Okay!!! for a start, that is the woman who plays George's mother in Dead Like Me!!!
Nextly, that AINT where you put the tube for embalming and draining the blood, its an incision made in the collar bone.
THEN there is the fact that all of the bodily gasses would have made the torso expand and bloat were it not de-pressurised and drained
aside from that, odd video!=]

He could used one of those hoses with a plunger in the middle. This way he would not have had to get blood in his mouth!

Would you use a hydro aspirator, or? Does the trocar back up a lot?

What about aspirating?
italian1976 4 years ago
Check out "Step Three" where we remove fluids from the body. This also removes any unwanted gasses.
Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoyed it.
