  • This is from Roy's Livestock album and Billy Price did the vocals. It's not Billy Price and the Keystone Rhythm Band. (I'm a huge Billy Price fan as he's from my neck of the woods.)

  • too bad he killed himself in jail, what a waste.

  • saw him do this on my birthday way back when, what a song, roy is worthy of this one, and so was Tyrone. Was around for both and still diggin it.

  • He kicked it as hard as my boy Tyrone Davis!!!!

  • I remember when I was asked to leave my home after the kids were gone, all I wanted to hear from him was, 'Baby, can I change my mine?' Class song. Thanks for sharing it.

  • Live Stock LP

  • Master Billy Price on vocals

  • Brazil Love you Roy!!

  • Lot of soul here!

  • Roy Buchanon was Nils Lofgren's mentor and advocate. On the PBS special about his life Roy allowed Nils to perform a six minute rendition of "shotgun".

Anyone who recognizes the talent Lofgren has, must recognize Roy Buchanan.

Probably the best guitarist ever, right there with Hendrix.

  • I was at this show and had just turned sixteen. I was sitting third row center and brought a camera with me that malfunctioned. I was so pissed I didn't have pictures. What a tremendous performance by Roy. I miss him dearly.

  • Man, me and my brother in-laws used to listen to this whole album when we were washing and waxing our rides to get ready for the weekend.....LOLOL! Good memories

  • What kind of jack-ass would give this a "thumbs down'? i pity the damn fool...

  • Tell more about Billy , please..........

  • What a joy ride this one is???????? Great all across the board !

    Does anyone have Roy, "Voices"???????

  • phatv--I think this was actually from Billy's short stint with Roy's band. The KRB formed after Billy left Roy Buchanan.

  • trop bon

  • This is Roy with Billy Price and The Keystone Rhythm Band...

  • Always loved this song.

  • vocals are billy price from pgh.pa.

  • faverit roy record's got great tones, and tunes

  • He can play his but off and his voice is so amazing-smooth as silk.

  • @mzhart2010 That's not Roy singing.

  • @mzhart2010 The vocals are by Ray Price, not Roy. Roy is the amazing guitarist--makes music soar!

  • One of my favorites for a long, long time!

  • He used to play a straight Telecaster without tremolo or any kind of pedals. I can't figure out anyone else who could play so beautifully with this simple stuff.

    Maybe Alvin Lee...

  • @PChemato Jeff Beck does a lot of stuff hands only too. the studio version of cause we've ended as lovers is tele straight to an amp, and a lot of his more recent live stuff is strat right into amp.

  • Came across this lp around the time it was released. had never heard of roy and was amazed at how good he was. it's a great shame tht he didnt get the recognition he so richly deserved. btw the cover of the album shows an australian butcher shop owned by a roy buchanan.

  • Just sublime perfection.......love this to death!!

  • Saw this done live and it blew my mind. Have always loved Roy Buchanan. The guitar solo on this one is smooth as silk and I love Billy Price's vocals. Used to hear Billy do this one with his band, long after he and Roy had parted company.

  • @Grace53a I saw Roy in PHG. 2 times, never forget it. And have seen Billy Price perform, actually met him once at a meeting.......This song is so good.

  • I've been looking for this song since 1977. Billy Proce used to play this song with his band in State College PA. Roy was the best.

  • Thank God I finally found this! I randomly heard it at the end of a Stevie Nicks bootleg and have had it stuck in my head ever since. Such an amazing song!

  • lol im 17 but im jamacian and alton elis sings this but i like roys version his voice is so lively

  • @qzgoonie That's not Roy singing...I think it's Billy price doing the vocals on this one.

  • Take 2... My favorite song on this album... maybe my favorite Roy Buchanan song of all time... It's got it all... great rhythm guitar, grinding B3, groovy bass line, great vocals.... and the solo... I dream in this... No showmanship... just crisp, clean tone. Best Album EVER...

  • @dadsome Tasty licks, indeen...

  • My favorite song on this album... maybe my favorite Roy Buchanan song of all time... It's got it all... great rhythm guitar, grinding B3, groovy bass line, great vocals.... and the solo... I dream in this... No showmanship... just crisp, clean tone. Best Album EVER...

  • Also one of my favorites by the great Roy. Saw him perform 8 times and met him once backstage at the old Stanley in Pittsburgh in 1980. Shot a roll of film from backstage during the show. Billy Price is also one of the best white bluesmen in the biz. Can't believe that it has been 22 years since Roy left us, and he provided a legacy of great guitar and songs to keep on playing & passing on to the next generation...but wouldn't it be great to "start all over again" as the lyric goes.

  • One of my favorites. That whole second side of Live Stock was fantastic.

  • Billy Price....Pittsburgh's BEST!!!used to LUV seein him with the Keystone rythim Band!!

  • Yeah...long timre...so good.

  • Love this song, Billy's singing is perfect. Sounds like a white soul man, not like he's trying to be black. Roy's playing is clean and tasteful, organ, drums, all perfect.

  • oh , i played my games

  • YEAH- YOU GO WHITE BOY R&B My Favorite Roy Song!! Thanks for putting it up!!!!!

  • juchu!

  • Superb music. Evreything fits, works, top notch. RIP Roy.

  • nice

  • The most underated gutarist ever!! Roy is amazing!

  • @steamjunkie

Under rated? Under exposed or un-rated perhaps but no one who knows about him under rates him

  • I wonder about those people who do NOT give this 5 stars?? This is so sweet!!

  • Dude I know what you mean I have one out there to I wish she would change her mind

  • KOOL

  • One of my top three favorite Roy tunes... such a sweet solo... moving.

  • I also wore a couple copies out. The vocalist Billy Price happens to live here in Pittsburgh, so most weekends you can hear him do this (come on, the vocals are every bit as awesome as the guitar,) and remember, this was only the second take this band ever did (as per Roy's biography

  • scooter - how right you are - Billy's vocals ARE as good as the riff - both are truly AWESOME

  • I been lookin for this song forever its so good

  • @Frippatronics It's on an album called Livestock...I still have the vinyl copy.We wore it out back in the 70's!

  • @joethepainter90

Me too. I worshipped Roy. Owned every record.

  • Roy sure could make it sound easy and effortless when he was creating licks none of his peers could attain - just a gifted touch. I am honored to have attended several of his shows in the late 70's/early 80's in small venues. Thanks for posting - Live Stock is one of the best live albums ever recorded.

  • You lucky bastard mate! Living in southern Australia not only was finding Roy albums like trying to find rocking horse shit, but I only got to see him once when he toured in 1986! I had to drive over 250 miles to get to the gig. But would crawl that far if he was still alive.

RIP Roy, you earned it in what you left us to enjoy.

  • @IK1963 loved his playing and singing, did'nt know he was still not with us (why do all our favorites go to heaven before WE DO ) I Listen To this tune Every Day -Thank you !

  • This had been my VERY favorite song since I heard it in the seventies. Saw Ray in Cleveland at the Agora.

I play this song sometimes 2-3 times on my way to/from work. Never will get old. My son downloaded it from napster. Sends chills through me even now. Play that funky music, white boy!

  • @patric1127 You'd be my best friend... love it, also...

  • This album "Live Stock" is one of the reasons I play guitar!! Love this solo, a "seamless" blend of the C Major, C Maj Pentatonic, and G Mixolydian scales, over a C major/ D minor progression! Learn this note for note!! Roy, you're still the BOSS!!

  • Like you this was one of the first songs I learnt to jam to when I was teaching myself guitar from scratch. When I got a guitar I didn't even know how to tune it! But, I eventually worked all I know from ear thanks to some Roy albums I found in a second hand store. I used to have to buy the heaviest guage strings I could get so they would last a year or two... ROFL Eventually made my cheap packing crate brand guitar fold in half!

  • @mattygeetarross Me, too... 17 years old, in the back of my friends' car... blew my mind. Still does!... This song never gets old.

  • just heard this for the first time...and friend stoped over and turned me on to this guy. Awesome!

  • Right-on an oldie that's never left my MIND....

  • A favourite of mine since way back. I am happy to have found it again, thanks for uploading!

  • Back when this came out,8 tracks were still popular.

A friend heard this song and asked if I would record this song multiple times on an 8 track,so he could hear it over and over.

You couldn't rewind an 8 track

  • I loved this song.. the whole album.. Livestock I wore it out. and i still have it.. thank you so much for posting this it is one of my all time favorites
