Ahahah the Libs here are the real losers on this comments board......why? Read their comments, they demonize and demonzie and demonize, and continue to do so against the Conservatives evn tho they were just given the bottle. In other words: they're still crying over 2000 and 2004.
Why do you guys still hate McCain? Aren't you happy enough that Obama's president? Or do you like to waste your time bashing someone who wanted to serve our country? Jesus Christ, you guys need to get lives. Fuck you.
Get him John!!!! Fucking Muslim terrorist bastard is only protecting his own. IMPEACH OBAMA NOW! ....before we're all forced to worship Allah at the barrel of a gun.

SUPPORT OBAMA
PS remember obama couldn't be a president if he was from iraq and they checked his backround
Ahahahah I see McCain looking around and looking at the people he's talking to, he's not reading a telprompter. I think you mean that Obama reads the teleprompter because he can't give a speech without one.
mccain sounds like telling a story to his kids when they were younger. Bed time kids i am teliing a new story and its a lie hahah mcdrill shut up dumb ass
McCain is right!!! Obama speaks about pulling the troops out of Iraq but then he wants to start war in Iran! All the anti-war people warship this loose cannon.. but he is not this person who is going to fix our country, he is going to make it worse!!
Fuck the arabs, if they want to blow them selfs up, let them do it, I for one am all for that. We need to rebuild our own country. Fuck the arabs if they want to kill them self I'm all for it.
YOu got to ask your self's! Why did the terrorists attack the United States? Everything has a reason! It's like America is the big bullies and the foreighn countries are our little brothers, and if they don't do what the big brother tells them there gonna kick there little asses!! America needs to mind there on business! How can you control other country's when your country economy is fucked up!
Under McCain's term we may have to wait until we are 69 instead of 67 before we are eligible for full social security benefits. I am afraid of what "pork" means to McCain. McCain has been making some noises which sounds like he for making the American people responsible for ensuring their own retirement and not relying on social security. Obama opposes hiking the retirement age privatizing social security.
Please check out their websites. McCain's website doesn't mention social security.
furthermore his compromise doesn't "highly regulate" a multi-billion dollar industry, it forces them to pay into a progressive fund like alternative energies because, and I know this may come as a shock, but companies don't do things in the interest of the future or people
they do it for the money. and if they can drill out what we've got until it's dry but the money rolls in the entire time then they don't give a fuck where it leaves us in the next twenty years
If Obama is elected, 4 years from now we will have seen no progress with Iran whatsoever, and we will still be paying through the roof for basic needs such as oil. In the mean time his government will have spent tons of money on pointless social services and an expanded government. When a democrat is in office nothing gets done. Then when the Republicans get elected they have to inherit the mess that the Dems left behind, and take on all the negative press associated with fixing their mistakes.
"4 years from now we will have seen no progress with Iran whatsoever" as if there's a necessary progression here, what the fuck do we care about Iran? perhaps we'd stop paying through the roof for gas if we ... oh, I don't know DIDN'T USE IT!
"pointless social services and an expanded government"
when in reality the government over the last eight years has been bloated out of control by none other than W. Bush, "they have to inherit the mess" is an ignorant and uninformed slanderous comment
What do we care about Iran? Well maybe the fact that they are the biggest threat to America today. But if you want to dismiss that fact, go right ahead.
If USA drilled their oil you wouldn't HAVE to pay through the roof for gas (or at least not as much as now). And if it was so simple to just not use gas, then we wouldn't be using it, genius.
ok I will go right ahead and dismiss it in lieu of our ridiculous military budget and the fact that our preemptive defense would certainly thwart any kind of long range attack
are you then suggesting to me that USA should drill Iran's oil, as in invade ANOTHER country to take their natural resources just to make our lives just that much better here? what a moron you are, do you even realize how wrong that is? what if someone invaded America to refine our natural gas resources, hm?
right, just merely constructing new oil rigs which would take years to complete would be the definition of a short-term solution. regardless of the fact that Obama has said he would be willing to compromise on this point if it meant legislating funding for alternative sources
so far I'd say that while I may not be "a pleasure", you certainly are "an intellectual" who has read the real facts of the issue or even considered the oil companies have acres of land to drill already. they don't want to
They do want to drill. The middle eastern countries control how much oil they are allowed to drill. That's why the supply is so low.
And Obama's "compromise" will just be a watered down, highly regulated American oil industry which, as he said, would depend on whether or not the environmentalists deem it okay. In other words, nothing will get done on this issue for the next 4 years. Also, constructing new rigs is not a short term solution. It would lower oil prices for many years to come.
what's been happening is known as peak oil, the thing about the phenomenon is that you don't know when it has taken place until a few years afterward and our analysts are throwing up red flags now
this is why the supply is so low, not because middle eastern countries "don't want to drill", the multinational oil companies are the ones making decisions to attempt to buy more land leases without drilling out what they have already
McCain has EVERY RIGHT to slam Obama, because Obama is a FOOL. He thinks that by talking to Iran & Russia that they will disarm their nukes because he ASKS THEM??? He is so blind. Russia recently threatened Poland for having a missile defense system! And Obama STILL thinks they can be persuaded. Fuck you, Obama. The USA will vote against you and make sure that YOU DON'T turn this country into a defenseless target.
Mccain plays to the ego of America, when since leaving a war benefiting us greatly be looked at as weak... continue appealing to the ego-centric Mccain-another president more concerned with international reputation than our wellness
This TOOL has no room to criticize Obama.. he voted for a war started on a lies, that continues to be perpetuated on lies while it breaks our economy and Americans lose their homes. What a Tool. Of course, people are so stupid they will believe this tool.
Well... "the world" in a poll not too old considered us and the Israelis along with the Iranians the world's biggest threats. So... I agree, there is way too much hate out there... I don't care for the Iranian hotheads, but I think the Israelis are pretty hotheaded too, and that goes for our current leadership here. So, I tend to agree with "the world".
You said "Take IRAN off the map with fiery ball". I know you meant Israel. I have done the research and never found the "fiery ball" comment. That's why I asked you, you wrote it. What I meant by "half the world" is: Do you honestly think that "half the world" is as preoccupied with a third world country like Iran? No way. The Chinese and Russians are pressured to go along with us reluctantly. We lead the effort with our pals in Israel, and maybe some elite within the Gulf Arab states.
yeah, honost mistake. Iran is a powder keg for a new major war, of course the world is concerned about a hostile nation developing a nuclear weapon that I have no doubt in my mind they will use simply because their leader is bat shit crazy. If Iran launched a nuke, Israel will retaliate. Thus the oil supplies of Europe and China will be at stake because Iran is a major exporter. Do you think them countries will sit by will their price for oil skyrockets from an alreay high price?
-continuing- Let's say they don't launch a nuclear missle soon as they get one. They will use their new "nuclear power" and threaten people nuclear annihilation if they don't give into their demands, why should we let someone that hostile even a have a nuclear missle? Israel is ready to bomb Iran's reactors and I don't blame them. Iran is threatening the world's security because they're too stupid and full of hate for the Israelis.
I'd have a hard time imagining the Iranians threatening the world with nuclear annihilation, unless they themselves were under serious threat. For reasons already stated. I don't think the Iranian leadership is composed of a bunch of sweet softies, but I certainly don't think they are as stupid as you seem to think. Don't think any country is. And there are countries that are far worst to their own people and to others, frankly.
rouge is "red" in French. It also means blush. I told you what their argument is. Read again. It's a basic economic argument. You wrote "they'll take Iran off the map in a firey ball, so your telling me they are not aiming for nuclear missles???" I don't understand what you mean? "firey ball" can you provide the exact quotation? I've never heard of that before. -Who is half the world??
What does Mc Cain wish to do. Does he wish to work for the americain people or the jewish state? If Mc Cain is elected and wish to invade Iran, the military wont follow because the soldiers in Iraq realize they went there for the wrong reasons. The leak for your top generals that Iran has no nuclear program is a blow to the GB adm and express the military resistance. Why does the USA have to take care of the state of Israel anyways? What have they done good for your contry in the past 20 years?
Bullshit. I'll join the war effort if we invade Iran. Iran HAS a nuclear program you idiot, they resumed it, are you saying more than half the world is wrong? They are the 3rd largest world exporter of oil!! WHAT DO THEY NEED NUCLEAR ENEGERY FOR!!? Nuclear Bombs = world security risk. We've already tried to negotiate with them, we gave them oil and months later... they resumed the program. Israel is our only ally in the middle-east and what have they done wrong? should we let them be annihilatd
Iran has a nuclear ENERGY program. And, you should ask the people in the Republican Ford administration (circa 1975)why they urged the Shah to develop it. There is of course a debate as to whether nuclear energy is cleaner. John McCain is a strong proponent of nuclear energy for the U.S. Also, if you are in Iran, you would think that with the price of oil as high as it is, it makes sense to develop alternative sources of energy so that you can export more oil. It is an economic calculation
Red French? Also, your not taking into account that they are the 3rd largest exporter.. what do they need NUCLEAR energy for when they got a fuckload amount of oil. Another thing they have already said they'll take Iran off the map in a firey ball, so your telling me they are not aiming for nuclear missles??? ALSO half the world is saying stop and they persist for... a little nuclear energy? Keep telling yourself they want it for power, you're just fooling yourself.
In 1993, James Woolsley said Iran had a secret nuclear weapons program. In 1995, William Perry said Iran was 5 years away from developing nuclear weapons. Every other year, the Israelis tell us in the next 5 years. The IAEA has never found a nuclear weapons program in Iran. Our own NIE (2007) has said that Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapons program. So, when you discover something that the rest of us don't know, please notify IAEA.
They DO have nuclear reactors. You don't know how Iran daily assures it will destroy Israel, YOU go research it. Israel,U.S.A.,Russia,China,UK,France,Germany, basically the whole U.N. has asked Iran to stop it's nuclear program, but still they keep it up.
Under the NPT, they are allowed to develop nuclear energy, which also explains the nuclear reactors. You have to have them to produce your own nuclear energy. The Iranians want regime change in Israel. They don't like Zionism. They equate it to the ideology of the South Africans under Apartheid. If, however, the Palestinians and the Israelis come to an agreement the Iranians will have no choice but to go along with it.
Even if they did have nukes, they wouldn't launch them against Israel. First, it would mean their own death. Second, even if you are the most rabid anti-semitic Iranian extremist, you would also kill a lot of Palestinians. And the Iranians proclaim themselves to be the foremost defenders of Palestinians. I'm not saying that whether or not to develop nukes is not or has not been debated within Iran, I imagine it has, but there is a lot of open opposition to nuclear weapons among Iran's elite.
Russia and China have been reluctant to help, but they've been pressuring Iran lately because they're getting fed up with it too. Iran WILL use nuclear missle if they get it, the leader's don't care about their people. If they did they'd stop the nuclear program so people would lift the sanctions and embargoes on them thus giving them an economic boom. Instead they continue and are costing their people harshly. Their stock market is a joke right now.
If the U.S. drops the issue, so will "the world". And I agree that the Iranian leadership badly mismanages everything, especially under its current administration. But, the whole nuclear issue is overblown as well... it is yet another srawman.
It's not "overblown", Israel is preparing to strike Iran over it. Is that anything to be takin lightly? That'll send half of Europe's oil prices soaring, then they'll heat up and participate in it.
If IAEA conducts unannounced inspections in Iran and has not found a nuclear weapons program. If the Iranians agreed to these additional protocals by the NPT (unannounced inspections) beyond those to which it is already subject as a member of NPT, and if the U.S.'s own intelligence community have stated that the Iranians do not have a nuclear weapons program, then how could it not be overblown. Please explain. Because the Israelis say something then the world must halt and fall to their knees
O, so a terrorist supporting nation is not going to hide their nuclear weapons program? They ARE trying to get their nuclear reactors up and running. That is fact. They say weekly how they'll destroy Israel and "the holocaust never happened" your being ignorant. Israel flew outside it's borders near Iran showing they had and will destroy them reactors if they do not stop a few weeks ago. Fuck Iran's terrorist supporting ass, I hope we do take them out, they're training terrorists for Iraq.
My God, you don't listen do you? Why else could a country have a nuclear reactor? That's right, the most significant use of nuclear reactors is as an energy source for the generation of electrical power. I suppose they could be keeping the "hidden weapons" exactly in the same place that the Iraqi's are hiding all the WMDs which we never found. Yes, Ahmadinejad and his cohorts talk nonsense questioning the extent of the Holocaust. This is absolutely new in Iran, and limited to them.
At the same time that that jerk Ahmadinejad is talking about the need for more "research" on the Holocaust, Iranian state-run tv airs a hit program on... That's right. The Holocaust, and more precisely on a love story between an Iranian man and a Jewish woman whose family he helps to rescue from the Nazis.
This is just like Vietnam! and mccain knows Vietnam and he knows how to prevent another Vietnam! Obama doesnt know how Vietnam worked and if he pulls us out we basically loose the war and that gives out military a bad name. then other countries will think that we got weaker and they could attack us. we need to be concerned with nuclear weapons since you dont know who is out there and when we could be bombed, talking it out is the only way and Obama wont. Mccan knows his war stuff and will help
yup just like Vietnam, and if you keep the soldiers there then that's what it is exactly and that's what it will become. Think about it; Saddam Hussein is gone. So whats the threat??? There was no nuclear crap in the first place. We destroyed a place found nothing, and now the USA is close to recession and you talk about "giving our military a bad name".. All this crap is giving the US a bad name.
okay actually the United Nations asked if they could look for weapons in Iraq and Iraq said no, then 3months later they asked again and Iraq sais yes! they had 3 months to hide all the weapons that they had! they obviously were hiding something and had time to make it seems like they didnt, you would be blind not to see that
The threat is that if we leave now, the Iraq government will never be able to become a democracy. Since when have democracies sprouted up overnight? Did you know violence in Iraq is at an ALL-TIME low and the Iraqi military marched into a terrorist stronghold city and took it? The Iraqi government is gaining power every month, we're rebuilding them and in the future they'll thank us for what we've done. New ally and trade partner in middle-east. We're still in Germany and Japan, and our allies.
You are a very silly person. Whether you call that people Jews or you call them Yehudim or you call them Zionists or you call them Sons of Israel or you call them Sons of Jacob, IT IS THE SAME PEOPLE YOU ARE TALING ABOUT. That is like saying you do not hate African-Americans, you only hate Americans who are black.
No one cares about what you think are your descendants. Open your window and see 57 Islamic States...and Every one of these states oppress their people.
There are over ONE MILLION Muslims who live in Israel as citizens. They would go live in a Palestinian state because they don't want to live in the oppression of Sharia law.
No one cares about what you think are your descendants. Open your window and see 57 Islamic States...and Every one of these states oppress their people.
There are over ONE MILLION Muslims who live in Israel as citizens.
These Muslims who live in Israel would NEVER GO to live in a Palestinian state because they don't want to live under the oppression of Sharia law.
body you got to get your self educate it. first of all my text what has to do with Israel or palestine? 2th; descendants of a nation it is very important.3th; it is 60years that israel destroy Palestinians home and USA government support this, actually your government don't give fuck to Americans all they care about is Israel will and benefit.
No matter what liberials say about John McCain, He LOVES this great country and almost died defending us! Americans have MANY DOUBTS about Obama's love of our country based on all his anti-american/criminal advisor fundraiser friends (Wright,Phlager,Ayers,Dorn,Rezco) I want to be 100% sure my President LOVES and is PROUD of AMERICA and Obama is NOT that guy!
go to hell flip floper. this guy is a joke liar. I hate it when he says new stratigy his a liar tell me your new stratigy thats working ass hole war addict. he wants to kill our young man and woman to get oil money your almost by your grave same some American life not kill them dumb ass. i have Mcbush vote for him and have the same life conditions. Democrats 08. Mccian we have many war heros and prisoners dont use that to get in to peoples mind
What a CLOWN: doesn't he know he was on the DC Madams list - and the whole media know it? The right-wing seniles in AIPAC must be running for the hills right now to get away from any association with him! Maybe he thinks the Nazi thug sub-class - so carefully groomed by the latter-day - "Decider" can save him from prison? By now, the whole world knows that 9/11 was a false-flag operation (see Michael Rupert; "conspiracy 9/11" and many others)!
With both Obama and Clinton happily marching to AIPAC HQ immediately after the democratic race, and McCain frequently attempting to curry favor with AIPAC, anyone claiming that AIPAC does not have a ultra-firm grip on our nation's policy is delusional if not braindead. What's more is that anyone who legitimately criticizes Zionism and AIPAC, is wrongfully deemed "anti-semitic." Indeed, this tactic deceptively and cunningly inflates the term "anti-semitic" to silence any potential criticism.
McCain, Obama and Clinton have all 'bent at the knee' in Israel and now here publicly to AIPAC. It matters not which one of these clowns is elected for you are their BITCH! Do you now know why we are in Iraq, will stay in Iraq and Americans will take it up the ass for generations. Rent the documentary: Why We Fight or Google President Eisenhower's final address to the nation. Also read President Washington's final speech to Congress. Vote for anyone other than these three TRAITORS!!!
McCain is 100% right. I only wished he had told the crowd more about Obama's Iraq plan: Obama says that he would pull troops out of Iraq but then send them back if there were a genocide taking place. That's really clever; leave the hornet's nest, let the terrorists get a tight grip on the area and then send back servicemen to defend an area you lost control of and have a weaker position in?
What harms Iran's moderates is the constant threat of regime change, & mentioning that we want to help Iranian moderates. This makes them look like a fifth column. The term the Iranian hardliners use for those in Iran that want to negotiate with the U.S. is "liberals." Studio7manga you are right on. Our all war approach to the ME has depleted our "hard power". While we've also damaged our soft power with our inability to live up to our ideals. We have lost a lot of credibility.
and this is supposed to be the new Nazi Germany. Give me a break. And don't get me wrong MA is a jerk, but this threat is so exaggerated its embarrassing. It's embarrassing that the same country that fought Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, and stood its ground against the Eastern Block and the Soviet Union, would consider puny Iran a worthwhile adversary.
Since the Iranian revolution, the U.S. has held several billion $ worth of Iranian assets, supported Iraq in the war it launched against Iran (1 million killed on both sides), acquiesced to its use of chemical weapons (Iran is second only to Japan in population of victims of chemical weapons), fought Iran in the Persian Gulf, sanctioned Iran, has gone after Iran in the UN for further sanctions, and militarily surrounds Iran in Central Asia, Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf and Iraq.
Ahmadinejad does not decide foreign policy, he is not commander in chief of the armed forces, he does not name judges to Iranian courts, he cannot veto legislation. He wields far less power than an American President. But, he is a good strawman for the hawks in this country who have beefed him up around the world. What would Ahmadinejad be without us? Nothing. He is unlikely to survive Iran's 2009 elections given his miserable track record in further ruining the Iranian economy.
America need war just like a cow needs milking after you kill it's young, and this Manchurian Candidate knows just how to do it right, a real brainwashed assassin, MK-ULTRA style. The puppet masters and multi-national corporation that pull his strings for insane behavior and more WAR! WAR! WAR!... Good luck America as you enter a new age with this guy as leader.
I don't think anyone who supports what Bush has done in the past 8 years has much credibility to speak about what is good for this country. The funny thing is that the same people who now will vote for McCain because he is a "war hero", voted for Bush/Cheney over Kerry. Bush who was AWOL from the Texas National Guard, Cheney who received deferral after deferral to skip the war all together, and the list of the chicken hawks in the BC administration goes on and on and on and on...
Obama is a liar. His uncle was in the navy. He had nothing to do with the liberation of any camp. watch?v=Mmci9nTuCkg
I believe the mother Church (UCC) asked him to leave. He misused a Church convention in Hartford, CT to campaign for himself after agreeing not to and as a result started an IRS investigation of the UCC.
We have NO evidence that Obama has risked AIDS (i.e - that he is gay). (When Obama was 2 years old, his parents divorced, and his father returned to Kenya.) Obama is in excellent health - He often jogs three miles and has no "excess" body fat. He has a healthy blood pressure of 90 over 60, low cholesterol and a strong heart.
Why should we trust you McCain? Your 'experience' led us to a disaster war in Iraq and is costing us billions and effecting us in everyway. so shut the fuck up
So we should vote in Obama who has No military experiance? What has Obama ever done for this country? Don't tell me what you think he will do, tell me what he has done.
I totally agree. No Obama. sorry! He simply will not work for this country. Maybe he should run for president of Venezuala or some other socialist leaning state. He's better suited for that.
I can't believe that Colin Powell would whole-heartedly support McCain. Since he couldn't survive in the Bush administration and obviously disagrees with him. Although he is a "good soldier" and wouldn't counter his commander in chief. I suspect his views are closer to Obama's when it comes to foreign policy. Condi on the other hand is clueless when it comes to the Middle East.
Republicans are a bunch of lunatics playing the same fear game over and over, sounding tough with no sight to end the stalemate with America's adversaries. whey are affraid of talking because they have to work hard finding solutions. But, rushing to war is easy because it's not them fighting or dying.
Anyone afraid of peace talks, while flexing American military power is a scary man. America isn't the top of the food chain, it is perceived to be. America is the brute of the world, the smarts are in Israel and Europe. China's day is coming and its the biggest fear a person can have to day is totalitarian state supported by capitalist kings through the experiment China. Everywhere else on earth is just a trade route, or slave camp. Vote no to McCain!
why does the media treat McCain like a senior citizen? he gets away with a lot . What's next a handicap tag for him ? for more free passes. This guy sounds like an idiot when he speaks , we just don't need another idiot in the White house . Why can't the media speaks for the majority of Americans wgo think this war is wrong , we don't want it , don't care about it , want our troops home, and want our home fixed before fixing someone else's.
"why does the media treat McCain like a senior citizen?"
He gives the press cookies, drinks and other snacks when they cover him, no joke.
"This guy sounds like an idiot when he speaks"
True.
"we just don't need another idiot in the White house"
Double true!
"Why can't the media speaks for the majority of Americans"
The media is no longer a public service, just a money making machine for corporations now. They use our public airwaves and don't provide a public service, it's shameful.
Nobody is going to follow McCain's view on Iran outside of the US and it's doubtful that he succeed in convincing those inside the US. Nothing more than pandering to the US voters. He is a nobody in the world and his strengths, knowledge about foreign policy, is a fallacy. All he has going for him is that he is old, has been in US politics for a while and that he was a war hero. Well outside the US, the only politicians that boost about their military history are those that got there via coup.
Here are the results of the policies that John McCain has supported, and would continue. During the Bush Administration, Iran has dramatically expanded its nuclear program, going from zero centrifuges to more than 3000 centrifuges. During the Bush Administration, Iran has expanded its influence throughout a vitally important region, plying Hamas and Hezbollah with money and arms. During the Bush Administration, Hamas took over Gaza.
Most importantly, the war in Iraq that John McCain supported and promises to continue indefinitely has done more to dramatically strengthen and embolden Iran than anything in a generation.
Not to mention keeping the current regime in place. I mean Americans might largely disapprove president Bush but they will support him 100% if China was threatening the US with military action.
"if China was threatening the US with military action."
Why would China do that, we are integral to their economy, there is no way they would shoot themselves in the foot like that. Also they don't even have a blue water navy, they couldn't even invade Taiwan if they wanted to.
There is no analogy for the US comparable to Iran's situation regarding to the US. The US right now is the top of the food chain so it is hard for Americans to imagine the situation Iran and it's people are in. Why they support a bunch of nutheads.
talks need to be make so that ahmadinejad can have some clearcut cause and effect scenarios when we deal with them instead of just having our troops in position getting pumbeled over there and we can isolate who our enemy is.
Old dead-weight. Best to ignore the fact that as of now this war isn't winnable and the U.S. isn't as strong as it once was? Fools like him are too senile to understand.
Hmm.. I think he may have a point. I don't know much about politics, really.. But i know that ahmadinejad is fucking CRAZY, and no, he shouldn't be talked to seriously by the world powers, as if he were actually a respectable leader. Just my modest opinion! I like Obama, though.
Obama is a far-left radical. Clinton and McCain are bothe MODERATES even though from different parties. Obama's views are too extreme for him to get elected. Being too far right-wing has not worked with G.W. Bush. Someone like Obama who is extreme left-wing will not work, either.
The real power lies with the Ayatollahs, I don't know why McCain is obsessed with Ahmadinejad. McCain really doesn't understand the middle east very well. Obama is a better choice on basically all the issues.
Obama is an idiot that a few weeks ago in front of an audience of supports denied Iran and Syria were even a threat to the United States, however once the pressure begin to rise because of his naive remarks, two days later he flip-flopped and said Iran was a "grave threat". The guy is a novice and will not be elected. We do not need a repeat of Jimmy Carter's disastrous presidency circa Barack Obama. And this is coming from a African American, male, registered Democrat.
OK. it was not I who said Iran was a grave threat a few days ago, it was your guy, Obama. I was simply quoting him. Second, I will have to say that I don't disagree that Iran is a threat. Is Iran, at this point, a strategic threat to the US main land? NO. Iran's threat lies with US interest in the region and our allies, mainly Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. Iranian made weapons and fighters(millitas) have already been guilty of killing Americans soilders, that alone is an act of war!
We overthrew a democratically elected government and installed a dictator, we've sponsored wars against them via proxies, we've leveled sanctions against them. At this point I'd say there is more blood on our hands, soft power is always more effective than hard power. Frankly if we didn't have the unnecessary oil dependency that we do, our interest in the region would be negligible.
I can agree with you on some of your points. I'm not against "soft power" at all. I'm a International relations and Foreign policy major (hence my username). I'm for diplomacy when I feel it can work, but I am not naive enough to believe I can negotiate with dictators that are committed to destruction. I believe in a mixture of both hard and soft power. But it should not be ignored that a nuclear Iran would pose a threat to the region and our ally's and that cannot be tolerated. good point tho
That's just it, I think they are more concerned with their own survival more than destruction. They see how we are negotiating with N. Korea, largely because of their nuclear capability and say, 'hey I'd like some of that'. Another example is Libya, which gave up it's nuclear program after the carrot of reinclusion in the economic world stage was offered.
Sort of the speak softly but carry a big stick approach, of course our stick is mostly mucked down in Iraq at the moment.
I don't think they have to be concerned about their own survival, but I do believe that they want a weapon as a deterrent and to use as leverage in negotiating. And the problem with the N Korea model is that is has not worked. They used their arsenal to strong arm the world into talks that have produced no fruit but only added in bringing attention and legitimacy to that regime. They never plan to disarm. they are taking us for a ride just like they did in the 90s. Dictators can't be trusted.
Of course, Iran's leaders are concerned about their survival. The thing is that the regime will survive. It survived a brutal war in the midst of a civil war at home when the regime was nascent. It will survive more sanctions. Iraq only managed to help the more radical elements in Iran consolidate power.
Ahmadinejad is unpopular, the regime is unpopular, but saber-rattling on the part of the U.S., especially on an issue such as the nuclear power issue (not weapons, which I'm not sure the Iranians have made up their minds about), which is a source of pride for many Iranians will push people towards not away from their govt. Unfortunately, history has shown that it is not just dictators that cannot be trusted.
We must offer China incentives to abandon its security council support for Iran. China's allegiance to Iran is not based on a loyalty to anti americanism but to economic interest. China is dependent on Iranian oil and natural gas exports and this is the reason why they support Iran. US policy should be to provide China with the energy needed so that there reliance on Iran can be broken. This can be down through US exporting of energy resources to China via our own vast oil and gas reserves.
For more sanctions? To what end? What is the Iranian problem with the U.S.? Largely the same problem the rest of the Middle East has with the U.S., Israel. Give the Palestinians a viable state and Iran will have little to talk about with regards to the U.S. This is in fact the weakest link for the U.S. in the region, between Israel and our flawed invasion of Iraq and the way it has been disastrously mishandled, we've diminished our soft power, and weakened our hard power.
Ok. You are coming across as one of those Blame Israel people. I am not naive enough to think Israel has no problems or hasn't been the cause of some, but it is a FACT that Iran is aiding in the killing of our solders and providing weapons and training to Hamas and Hizbullah to kill Israelis. Both sides are in the wrong. and yes the Palestinians need a state, but will not get it as long as Hamas, their legislature, continues with its destructive behavior.
I do think that Israel is a huge problem for us in the region. Sorry, but that's reason number 1 for anti-Americanism in the region. So I guess I am one of "those people" who recognize it is a problem for us. With regards to Iran in Iraq. I think they are supporting the largest faction in Iraq, the Shi'i, their coreligionists. I actually think we're on the same side largely on this one since Iraq's elected leaders have strong connections with Iran.
On the other hand, if as the Neo-Cons state, "Real men go to Iran," & that seems to have been the intention of the administration in its regime change domino, then if I were sitting in Iran I might also want the us to be bogged down in Iraq. So I think we better talk to them. Israel has killed Far, Far, Far more Lebanese and Palestinians than the other way around. And talk about denying someone's existence, what was that refrain again, "There's no such thing as a Palestinians?"
Ok. I do understand your point. The Israeli-Palestinian issue is a cause for turmoil in the Mid-East but what I was saying is that is not the reason for Iran's posture. Iran seeks to be the supreme power in that region and this is why they are trying to have some much influence and control in Iraq, Lebanon, and Gaza. Even if the palestianian had a state, the Iranians would be satisfied. They want Israel gone. What did you think of Obama's AIPAC speech???
I'm sure Iran, like every other state, wishes to maximize its power. You're an IR major, so that concept makes sense to you. The thing is that Iran's chances are maximized by the fact that those places where it is making inroads Lebanon, Iraq, and Gaza are more receptive to it for a variety of reasons. Following the Iranian revolution Iran thought other would follow, but they didn't. As a Shi'i, non-Arab country, Iran did not have much appeal.
Nearly 30 years later, Iran has even less appeal. But, Iraq is desperate and Iran has invested in its infrastructure, ngos, etc., competing with the U.S., with the advantage that much of Iraq's leadership, had been exiled in Iran after they fled Saddam Hussein's repression. So they have longstanding connections. Hezbollah is a power on its own. They are the heroes of the wars against Israel. They represent the largest religious faction in Lebanon.
I'm sure Iranian money helped them start rebuilding the devastation caused by the 2006 war, but even if Iran were to disappear, they would still be a power to be reckoned with. It has been many long years since Iran's revolutionary guards helped organize and started funding Hezbollah. My sense is that possibly even the rockets they've launched into Israel are manufactured at home, not imported from Iran. With regards to Gaza, as I said, Hamas won the elections.
Yes, support for the Palestinians is at the heart of Iran's revolutionary ideology. But, even if Iran did not exist, the Palestinians have enough reasons to fight against the Israeli's. If Iran doesn't help them, then it will be numerous wealthy individuals from the region that will do so. It doesn't take much money nor external training to do what Hamas does. They are driven not by the fact that Iran is there and supports them, but by antagonism to Israel.
Israel loves us why should we turn our back on our only ally in the middle-east? Iraqis are going to love us in the future when they have a free democratic nation in the middle-east that was rebuilt with OUR tax dollars. Research the war lately, violence in Iraq is at an all-time low and expected to decrease throughout 2008. Iraqi military marched into terrorist stronghold city and took it in a month!! They are gaining more power every month. Iran is a threat to all of that.
Of course the Israeli's love us, but it's questionable to what extent their "alliance" is of any use to us. I think my comments on Iran are self-explanatory.
Also, the creation of a Palestinian state won't deter Iran and cause them to be a be with Israel. Iran doesn't just want a Palestinian state, they want Israel gone, and the original (pre-1948) Palestinian state restored. They will never except Israel's right to exist. Never. I am all for the Palestinians but they will never to independent with Hamas controlling Gaza and holding power in their legislature.
You are right in stating that Iranian leaders will not accept Israel as legitimate. They believe this land was taken over by immigrants to the detriment of the people who had been living on that land. That said, they will in the end not be more Palestinian than the Palestinians. These were the words of former President Khatami. Hamas was elected to power and must form part of any future negotiations. What of the 2003 proposal sent by the Iranians to negotiate on everything, including Israel?
Then on the topic of the "novice". Obama is not in the same leaugue as JFK nor Lincoln. JKK was a commander in the US Navy and fought in WWII. Then went on to be a US rep from 1947-1953, then became a US senator from 1953-1960. Kennedy came from a family of politico's and understood national politics and world affairs better than Obama does. Lincoln was no "novice" either. Just to a Wikipedia search and look at this guys resume before his presidency, it is substantial. Obama doesn't measure

McCain's website doesn't mention social security.
boardndude 3 years ago
furthermore his compromise doesn't "highly regulate" a multi-billion dollar industry, it forces them to pay into a progressive fund like alternative energies because, and I know this may come as a shock, but companies don't do things in the interest of the future or people
they do it for the money. and if they can drill out what we've got until it's dry but the money rolls in the entire time then they don't give a fuck where it leaves us in the next twenty years
government has to step in
chrissphinx 3 years ago
If Obama is elected, 4 years from now we will have seen no progress with Iran whatsoever, and we will still be paying through the roof for basic needs such as oil. In the mean time his government will have spent tons of money on pointless social services and an expanded government. When a democrat is in office nothing gets done. Then when the Republicans get elected they have to inherit the mess that the Dems left behind, and take on all the negative press associated with fixing their mistakes.
Thill029 3 years ago 3
"4 years from now we will have seen no progress with Iran whatsoever" as if there's a necessary progression here, what the fuck do we care about Iran? perhaps we'd stop paying through the roof for gas if we ... oh, I don't know DIDN'T USE IT!
"pointless social services and an expanded government"
when in reality the government over the last eight years has been bloated out of control by none other than W. Bush, "they have to inherit the mess" is an ignorant and uninformed slanderous comment
chrissphinx 3 years ago
What do we care about Iran? Well maybe the fact that they are the biggest threat to America today. But if you want to dismiss that fact, go right ahead.
If USA drilled their oil you wouldn't HAVE to pay through the roof for gas (or at least not as much as now). And if it was so simple to just not use gas, then we wouldn't be using it, genius.
Thill029 3 years ago
ok I will go right ahead and dismiss it in lieu of our ridiculous military budget and the fact that our preemptive defense would certainly thwart any kind of long range attack
are you then suggesting to me that USA should drill Iran's oil, as in invade ANOTHER country to take their natural resources just to make our lives just that much better here? what a moron you are, do you even realize how wrong that is? what if someone invaded America to refine our natural gas resources, hm?
chrissphinx 3 years ago
I meant "their" in reference to America drilling their OWN oil. Maybe I should have been more clear on that.
I must say you really are not a pleasure to argue with whatsoever.
Thill029 3 years ago
right, just merely constructing new oil rigs which would take years to complete would be the definition of a short-term solution. regardless of the fact that Obama has said he would be willing to compromise on this point if it meant legislating funding for alternative sources
so far I'd say that while I may not be "a pleasure", you certainly are "an intellectual" who has read the real facts of the issue or even considered the oil companies have acres of land to drill already. they don't want to
chrissphinx 3 years ago
They do want to drill. The middle eastern countries control how much oil they are allowed to drill. That's why the supply is so low.
And Obama's "compromise" will just be a watered down, highly regulated American oil industry which, as he said, would depend on whether or not the environmentalists deem it okay. In other words, nothing will get done on this issue for the next 4 years. Also, constructing new rigs is not a short term solution. It would lower oil prices for many years to come.
Thill029 3 years ago
sorry, that's incorrect and here's why
what's been happening is known as peak oil, the thing about the phenomenon is that you don't know when it has taken place until a few years afterward and our analysts are throwing up red flags now
this is why the supply is so low, not because middle eastern countries "don't want to drill", the multinational oil companies are the ones making decisions to attempt to buy more land leases without drilling out what they have already

Mooshito 3 years ago
You said "Take IRAN off the map with fiery ball". I know you meant Israel. I have done the research and never found the "fiery ball" comment. That's why I asked you, you wrote it. What I meant by "half the world" is: Do you honestly think that "half the world" is as preoccupied with a third world country like Iran? No way. The Chinese and Russians are pressured to go along with us reluctantly. We lead the effort with our pals in Israel, and maybe some elite within the Gulf Arab states.
Mooshito 3 years ago
yeah, honost mistake. Do you think them countries will sit by will their price for oil skyrockets from an alreay high price?
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
-continuing- Let's say they don't launch a nuclear missle soon as they get one. They will use their new "nuclear power" and threaten people nuclear annihilation if they don't give into their demands, why should we let someone that hostile even a have a nuclear missle? Israel is ready to bomb Iran's reactors and I don't blame them. Iran is threatening the world's security because they're too stupid and full of hate for the Israelis.
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
I'd have a hard time imagining the Iranians threatening the world with nuclear annihilation, unless they themselves were under serious threat. For reasons already stated. I don't think the Iranian leadership is composed of a bunch of sweet softies, but I certainly don't think they are as stupid as you seem to think. Don't think any country is. And there are countries that are far worst to their own people and to others, frankly.

What have they done good for your contry in the past 20 years?
gaillard35 3 years ago
Israel is our only ally in the middle-east and what have they done wrong? should we let them be annihilatd
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
Iran has a nuclear ENERGY program. And, you should ask the people in the Republican Ford administration (circa 1975)why they urged the Shah to develop it. There is of course a debate as to whether nuclear energy is cleaner. John McCain is a strong proponent of nuclear energy for the U.S. Also, if you are in Iran, you would think that with the price of oil as high as it is, it makes sense to develop alternative sources of energy so that you can export more oil. It is an economic calculation
Mooshito 3 years ago
Keep telling yourself they want it for power, you're just fooling yourself.
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
In 1993, James Woolsley said Iran had a secret nuclear weapons program. In 1995, William Perry said Iran was 5 years away from developing nuclear weapons. Every other year, the Israelis tell us in the next 5 years. The IAEA has never found a nuclear weapons program in Iran. Our own NIE (2007) has said that Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapons program. So, when you discover something that the rest of us don't know, please notify IAEA.
Mooshito 3 years ago
They DO have nuclear reactors. You don't know how Iran daily assures it will destroy Israel, YOU go research it. Israel,U.S.A.,Russia,China,UK,France,Germany, basically the whole U.N. has asked Iran to stop it's nuclear program, but still they keep it up.
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
Under the NPT, they are allowed to develop nuclear energy, which also explains the nuclear reactors. You have to have them to produce your own nuclear energy. The Iranians want regime change in Israel. They don't like Zionism. They equate it to the ideology of the South Africans under Apartheid. If, however, the Palestinians and the Israelis come to an agreement the Iranians will have no choice but to go along with it.
Mooshito 3 years ago
Even if they did have nukes, they wouldn't launch them against Israel. First, it would mean their own death. Second, even if you are the most rabid anti-semitic Iranian extremist, you would also kill a lot of Palestinians. And the Iranians proclaim themselves to be the foremost defenders of Palestinians. I'm not saying that whether or not to develop nukes is not or has not been debated within Iran, I imagine it has, but there is a lot of open opposition to nuclear weapons among Iran's elite.
Mooshito 3 years ago
Russia and China have been reluctant to help, but they've been pressuring Iran lately because they're getting fed up with it too. Iran WILL use nuclear missle if they get it, the leader's don't care about their people. If they did they'd stop the nuclear program so people would lift the sanctions and embargoes on them thus giving them an economic boom. Instead they continue and are costing their people harshly. Their stock market is a joke right now.
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
If the U.S. drops the issue, so will "the world". And I agree that the Iranian leadership badly mismanages everything, especially under its current administration. But, the whole nuclear issue is overblown as well... it is yet another srawman.
Mooshito 3 years ago
It's not "overblown", Israel is preparing to strike Iran over it. Is that anything to be takin lightly? That'll send half of Europe's oil prices soaring, then they'll heat up and participate in it.
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
If IAEA conducts unannounced inspections in Iran and has not found a nuclear weapons program. If the Iranians agreed to these additional protocals by the NPT (unannounced inspections) beyond those to which it is already subject as a member of NPT, and if the U.S.'s own intelligence community have stated that the Iranians do not have a nuclear weapons program, then how could it not be overblown. Please explain. Because the Israelis say something then the world must halt and fall to their knees
Mooshito 3 years ago
O, so a terrorist supporting nation is not going to hide their nuclear weapons program? They ARE trying to get their nuclear reactors up and running. That is fact. They say weekly how they'll destroy Israel and "the holocaust never happened" your being ignorant. Israel flew outside it's borders near Iran showing they had and will destroy them reactors if they do not stop a few weeks ago. Fuck Iran's terrorist supporting ass, I hope we do take them out, they're training terrorists for Iraq.
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
My God, you don't listen do you? Why else could a country have a nuclear reactor? That's right, the most significant use of nuclear reactors is as an energy source for the generation of electrical power. I suppose they could be keeping the "hidden weapons" exactly in the same place that the Iraqi's are hiding all the WMDs which we never found. Yes, Ahmadinejad and his cohorts talk nonsense questioning the extent of the Holocaust. This is absolutely new in Iran, and limited to them.
Mooshito 3 years ago
At the same time that that jerk Ahmadinejad is talking about the need for more "research" on the Holocaust, Iranian state-run tv airs a hit program on... That's right. The Holocaust, and more precisely on a love story between an Iranian man and a Jewish woman whose family he helps to rescue from the Nazis.

Barack Obama when he spoke to AIPAC inured him to the right-wing
AIPAC. Wasn't this the anti-war candidate?
g3nuwine 3 years ago
When McCain spoke to AIPAC, he warned about Iran. He said that Israel
should not negotiate with Hamas. He said that the US is Israel's #1
ally. That's just great. What do they need us for when they can wipe
Iran of the face of the Earth? It's because we give them legitimacy.
Not only that, AIPAC donates over $110,000,000 to Congressmen ands
Senators in our government. McCain was predictably for the cause of
AIPAC.

PhotonDrive 3 years ago
With both Obama and Clinton happily marching to AIPAC HQ immediately after the democratic race, and McCain frequently attempting to curry favor with AIPAC, anyone claiming that AIPAC does not have a ultra-firm grip on our nation's policy is delusional if not braindead. What's more is that anyone who legitimately criticizes Zionism and AIPAC, is wrongfully deemed "anti-semitic." Indeed, this tactic deceptively and cunningly inflates the term "anti-semitic" to silence any potential criticism.

Well outside the US, the only politicians that boost about their military history are those that got there via coup.
tubebunny7 3 years ago
Here are the results of the policies that John McCain has supported, and would continue. During the Bush Administration, Iran has dramatically expanded its nuclear program, going from zero centrifuges to more than 3000 centrifuges. During the Bush Administration, Iran has expanded its influence throughout a vitally important region, plying Hamas and Hezbollah with money and arms. During the Bush Administration, Hamas took over Gaza.
getplaning 3 years ago
Most importantly, the war in Iraq that John McCain supported and promises to continue indefinitely has done more to dramatically strengthen and embolden Iran than anything in a generation.

And this is coming from a African American, male, registered Democrat.
secretarygreene 3 years ago
"denied Iran & Syria were even a threat to the US"
They're not. How could they even attack the US? There is no existential threat at all from them. However we do pose an existential threat to them.
"said Iran was a "grave threat""
A grave threat to... what? Probably the further proliferation of nuclear technology. Quote mining isn't a cogent argument, sorry.
"the guy is a novice"
Just like JFK and Lincoln, right.
Thanks for opining all that, to bad it's not convincing in the least.
studio7manga 3 years ago 2
OK. it was not I who said Iran was a grave threat a few days ago, it was your guy, Obama. Iranian made weapons and fighters(millitas) have already been guilty of killing Americans soilders, that alone is an act of war!
secretarygreene 3 years ago
We overthrew a democratically elected government and installed a dictator, we've sponsored wars against them via proxies, we've leveled sanctions against them. At this point I'd say there is more blood on our hands, soft power is always more effective than hard power. Frankly if we didn't have the unnecessary oil dependency that we do, our interest in the region would be negligible.
studio7manga 3 years ago 2
I can agree with you on some of your points. I'm not against "soft power" at all. I'm a International relations and Foreign policy major (hence my username). I'm for diplomacy when I feel it can work, but I am not naive enough to believe I can negotiate with dictators that are committed to destruction. I believe in a mixture of both hard and soft power. But it should not be ignored that a nuclear Iran would pose a threat to the region and our ally's and that cannot be tolerated. good point tho
secretarygreene 3 years ago
That's just it, I think they are more concerned with their own survival more than destruction. They see how we are negotiating with N. Korea, largely because of their nuclear capability and say, 'hey I'd like some of that'. Another example is Libya, which gave up it's nuclear program after the carrot of reinclusion in the economic world stage was offered.
Sort of the speak softly but carry a big stick approach, of course our stick is mostly mucked down in Iraq at the moment.
studio7manga 3 years ago
I don't think they have to be concerned about their own survival, but I do believe that they want a weapon as a deterrent and to use as leverage in negotiating. And the problem with the N Korea model is that is has not worked. They used their arsenal to strong arm the world into talks that have produced no fruit but only added in bringing attention and legitimacy to that regime. They never plan to disarm. they are taking us for a ride just like they did in the 90s. Dictators can't be trusted.
secretarygreene 3 years ago
Of course, Iran's leaders are concerned about their survival. The thing is that the regime will survive. It survived a brutal war in the midst of a civil war at home when the regime was nascent. It will survive more sanctions. Iraq only managed to help the more radical elements in Iran consolidate power.
Mooshito 3 years ago
Ahmadinejad is unpopular, the regime is unpopular, but saber-rattling on the part of the U.S., especially on an issue such as the nuclear power issue (not weapons, which I'm not sure the Iranians have made up their minds about), which is a source of pride for many Iranians will push people towards not away from their govt. Unfortunately, history has shown that it is not just dictators that cannot be trusted.
Mooshito 3 years ago
What exactly should we do then, that we haven't already done? And wouldn't drive us into the ground? Or further weaken us internationally?
Mooshito 3 years ago
We must offer China incentives to abandon its security council support for Iran. China's allegiance to Iran is not based on a loyalty to anti americanism but to economic interest. China is dependent on Iranian oil and natural gas exports and this is the reason why they support Iran. US policy should be to provide China with the energy needed so that there reliance on Iran can be broken. This can be down through US exporting of energy resources to China via our own vast oil and gas reserves.
secretarygreene 3 years ago
For more sanctions? To what end? What is the Iranian problem with the U.S.? Largely the same problem the rest of the Middle East has with the U.S., Israel. Give the Palestinians a viable state and Iran will have little to talk about with regards to the U.S. This is in fact the weakest link for the U.S. in the region, between Israel and our flawed invasion of Iraq and the way it has been disastrously mishandled, we've diminished our soft power, and weakened our hard power.
Mooshito 3 years ago
Ok. You are coming across as one of those Blame Israel people. I am not naive enough to think Israel has no problems or hasn't been the cause of some, but it is a FACT that Iran is aiding in the killing of our solders and providing weapons and training to Hamas and Hizbullah to kill Israelis. Both sides are in the wrong. and yes the Palestinians need a state, but will not get it as long as Hamas, their legislature, continues with its destructive behavior.
secretarygreene 3 years ago
I do think that Israel is a huge problem for us in the region. Sorry, but that's reason number 1 for anti-Americanism in the region. So I guess I am one of "those people" who recognize it is a problem for us. With regards to Iran in Iraq. I think they are supporting the largest faction in Iraq, the Shi'i, their coreligionists. I actually think we're on the same side largely on this one since Iraq's elected leaders have strong connections with Iran.
Mooshito 3 years ago
On the other hand, if as the Neo-Cons state, "Real men go to Iran," & that seems to have been the intention of the administration in its regime change domino, then if I were sitting in Iran I might also want the us to be bogged down in Iraq. So I think we better talk to them. Israel has killed Far, Far, Far more Lebanese and Palestinians than the other way around. And talk about denying someone's existence, what was that refrain again, "There's no such thing as a Palestinians?"
Mooshito 3 years ago
What did you think of Obama's AIPAC speech???
secretarygreene 3 years ago
I'm sure Iran, like every other state, wishes to maximize its power. You're an IR major, so that concept makes sense to you. The thing is that Iran's chances are maximized by the fact that those places where it is making inroads Lebanon, Iraq, and Gaza are more receptive to it for a variety of reasons. Following the Iranian revolution Iran thought other would follow, but they didn't. As a Shi'i, non-Arab country, Iran did not have much appeal.
Mooshito 3 years ago
Nearly 30 years later, Iran has even less appeal. But, Iraq is desperate and Iran has invested in its infrastructure, ngos, etc., competing with the U.S., with the advantage that much of Iraq's leadership, had been exiled in Iran after they fled Saddam Hussein's repression. So they have longstanding connections. Hezbollah is a power on its own. They are the heroes of the wars against Israel. They represent the largest religious faction in Lebanon.
Mooshito 3 years ago
I'm sure Iranian money helped them start rebuilding the devastation caused by the 2006 war, but even if Iran were to disappear, they would still be a power to be reckoned with. It has been many long years since Iran's revolutionary guards helped organize and started funding Hezbollah. My sense is that possibly even the rockets they've launched into Israel are manufactured at home, not imported from Iran. With regards to Gaza, as I said, Hamas won the elections.
Mooshito 3 years ago
Yes, support for the Palestinians is at the heart of Iran's revolutionary ideology. But, even if Iran did not exist, the Palestinians have enough reasons to fight against the Israeli's. If Iran doesn't help them, then it will be numerous wealthy individuals from the region that will do so. It doesn't take much money nor external training to do what Hamas does. They are driven not by the fact that Iran is there and supports them, but by antagonism to Israel.
Mooshito 3 years ago
Israel loves us why should we turn our back on our only ally in the middle-east? Iraqis are going to love us in the future when they have a free democratic nation in the middle-east that was rebuilt with OUR tax dollars. Research the war lately, violence in Iraq is at an all-time low and expected to decrease throughout 2008. Iraqi military marched into terrorist stronghold city and took it in a month!! They are gaining more power every month. Iran is a threat to all of that.
iwatchmassvideo 3 years ago
Of course the Israeli's love us, but it's questionable to what extent their "alliance" is of any use to us. I think my comments on Iran are self-explanatory.
Mooshito 3 years ago
Also, the creation of a Palestinian state won't deter Iran and cause them to be a be with Israel. Iran doesn't just want a Palestinian state, they want Israel gone, and the original (pre-1948) Palestinian state restored. They will never except Israel's right to exist. Never. I am all for the Palestinians but they will never to independent with Hamas controlling Gaza and holding power in their legislature.
secretarygreene 3 years ago
