@walkermowers1 For trimmers, chainsaws, and hedge trimmers, my favourite two brands are Shindaiwa and Stihl. For blowers, I like Redmax and Stihl. One of these days, I'd like to try Kawasaki. I hear they're good for trimmers.
it definitely needs a break in period about a month then you will be happy just keep using it as your main blower and it will break in faster. if you cut grass everyday. how much did you pay for it?
@walkermowers1 Thanks for the advice regarding the break-in period. We'll give it a go. I'll try to do a video on it too. I paid $679 + HST (13%). Things are expensive here in Canada.
@walkermowers1 Yup, things are expensive up here. Generally, handhelds like trimmers and blowers are $100-300 more up here, 21" mowers are $300-500 more too. We also don't have a lot of Redmax dealers so that's another reason why things can be expensive. Stihl and Echo are the top brands here.
@walkermowers1 Great video walker mowers. I ended up buying a Redmax 8500 from Hitch City last week. So far, I'm impressed with how good it is on fuel. However, it doesn't seem to be significantly more powerful than the Echo PB770. Maybe it just needs a break in period?
@walkermowers1 Sounds great Walker. Can't wait to see your Redmax 8500 video. I'm hoping it surpasses my Shindaiwa EB854. If it does, I'm trading it in on a new Redmax 8500.I I called my local dealer and they said they will be in mid July.
the blower definitely is something else. they said there doing rapid production on those blowers. you probably can get one either mid to end of july you will be much more happier with the 8500 on the power and the fuel efficiency then the echo pb770
and it only took about a minute i have a walker so give you a idea how much grass i blew down the cliff and redmax is the blower and weed trimmer i ever used i love the weed trimmers i bought another one and im looking to replace my br 550 with another redmax 8500 and keep my br 600 magnum as a back up im switching to redmax i think its much better then sthil and the trimmers are so much lighter and more balanced the sthil trimmers
how i would compare the redmax to the sthil. the redmax has so much power about 100ft away its blowing the branches on the trees and its pretty fuel efficient still breaking in. sthil has power but the redmax 8500 will take you no time to do the leaf cleanups its like using a little wonder blower and there so much lighter now. you really have to get the blower its great and when dumped grass at the end of my street i took the blower blew the pile of grass right down the cliff no problem at all
@walkermowers1 Sounds awesome. This blower sounds like its something else. From watching my video, I'm guessing the new Redmax is way better than my Shindaiwa EB854. I think that's the one I'm going to trade in. I haven't been able to find a dealer here in Canada who carries it yet.
It should be noted, too, that the stihl is an older model and thus may be a little more worn out. That being said..............Go Echo, Go Shindaiwa!!!
The shindaiwa eb854 was just released this past summer. MPH and CFM are identical to the eb8520: 201 mph and 760 cfm with the round tube. The unit is not up on the website yet. I tried out he eb8520 in the spring but the eb854 seems a lot more powerful.
Considering it has a 79 cc engine, yes it's pretty good on fuel. I only got it at the end of September. So, I probably only have about 6 hours or so on it. It's not broken in yet. On a 2 liter fuel tank, I've gotten well over an hour of use. For fuel efficiency, the Stihl BR600 is the best while the Echo is a close second. The Echo took about 15-20 hours to break in. When I first got it, it was sucking up fuel. After the break in period, it became really good on fuel.
@joeraptor1 what blower should i buy the redmax 8050 echo pb770 sthil 600 magnum or shindaiwa eb854 i have a 600 magnum i love it im just looking to explore my options and i have a eb630 its a nice blower
It's really up to you. They are all good blowers. I tried out the Redmax 8050 before buying the Shindaiwa. Good blower but not as powerful as the older Redmax 8000 I used to own. The echo pb770 is a good blower too. It's a bit more powerful than the stihl br600 I have. If you're tall, you may not like the short tubes. The Shindaiwa eb854 so far has been an excellent blower. How is your BR600 magnum. I was thinking of getting one in the spring.
@joeraptor1 the 600 magnum is excellent its light and its has more power then the old 600 its a great blower i really like it like i was saying im the kinda guy who likes lot of power and i saw the eb854 i liked it from your videos
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. I think I'm going to trade my old BR600 for a new magnum in the spring. Let me know what you decide to buy. They're all good. I also read a comment on lawnsite that indicated that Redmax will be bringing out a new blower next spring. Maybe you want to what to see what they have coming.
@MattytheDem You're right about the Redmax units. I've read that they will becoming out with updated versions of the 7050 and 8050 sometime this year. The 7500 and 8500 models will replace these two. They're supposed to be lighter and much more powerful. Should be great to see.
@joeraptor1 the 7050 and 8050 are the 7001 and 8001 that have been lightened. the 8001 weighed in at 29 pounds which is a little on the heavy side. the stihl is 23 lbs and the echo (i own one) is 24 lbs
@walkermowers1 Congratulations on the new Redmax 8500. I've heard that it's an amazing blower! Where did you get it? How much did you pay? I was thinking of getting one too. Can you do a video of it?
@walkermowers1 Great, would love to see a video on the new Redmax. That's a good price for the blower. MRSP in Canada is $679. Got love how everything is so much more expensive up here than in the U.S. How is the Redmax on fuel? Any good? How would you compare your Redmax with your Stihl BR600? I traded my regular BR600 in for a magnum version this spring. Beautiful blower. It's got more power than the older version just like you said.
whats your favorite brand
mines redmax
sthil for chainsaws and some other stuff
