  • Some one tell me whats ghosting pls

  • Is there any firmware update yet?

Also when you said you're settings can't be save if the monitor is turned off and turned back it on. what if it was on standby and you already configure the settings, will it go back to default after waking up from standby?

  • wtf is ghosting ? im still not getting it

  • @gabewutang Google is your friend. ;)

  • @gabewutang imagine somebody in front of you, at night, drawing figures in the air with his cellphone or a lighter or any other lightsource.. well, thats the kind of effect ghosting is called when a similar effect happens on the screen, like when you wanna move windows around and stuff.

  • Asus doesnt give you access to this feature for the ve249h

  • Whats strange to me is the fact that this is only an issue in windows. I have a dual boot Ubuntu/Windows setup and ghosting only occurs in windows and in Wine on ubuntu. Just makes me love Linux all the more.

  • Does the ghosting show up in games?

  • Can you make a before and after video please?

    Greez KivVer08

  • Works on the VE247H as well

  • hi

    for all.this way works fine.

But there is a faster method to open the hidden menue.

tap fast 2 times on the menue button...thats the fastest way I found and without 7 seconds and shut down the monitor ;)

I contact asus before some days and asked for a update. the man whose talked to me said, that he will give this problem to the technician.but he don't promise anything.

  • oh,by the way...I just tested this way on my ve248h...so it is possible, that it only works on the ve248h

  • this dosent work for my asus vh242h, does all asus monitor have service mode? does it work on hdmi to ? or only vga/dvi?

  • Cheers

  • Can you help me with this issue of color and etc. Pm me PLEASE.

  • Thank you! This helped a lot!

  • hi guys, i had same problems

but i colibrated my monitor and find out that when you have >85 contrast ghosting is gone

    my settings:

    splendid mode :Scenery

    Brightness 58

    Contrast 86

    sharpness 81

    saturation 39

  • @BaguMka86 I tried this and it worked but i wanna know if you enabled OD on menu for the monitor or did you leave it on. However i still wonder why you have yours set on scenery mode? What about gaming? Gaming feels like saturation mode is off but however Standard and Scenery looks damn cool with gaming but it feels like the darkness is too much ingame. Can you help me with this please?

  • @BaguMka86 >85 contrast does not work. ghosting still there. thanks for completely wasting my time.

  • Great this fix works Perfectly! I didn't notice any ghosting till not to long ago but this fixes everything! Im surprised that since this seems to be a common problem Asus didn't just make it so you can turn the OD off from the normal Menu.

  • forgot 2 mention that if ur connected via DVI cable the power button will flash continuously after u enter the code and the screen will switch 2 VGA. this indicates that ur in SERVICE MENU MODE now PRESS the button next 2 the power button which is the INPUT SOURCE button "VGA/HDMI" once u switch the source back all touch sensitive buttons will stay on. sry for the mix up i mite need 2 make a video.

  • One more thing, there is no GHOSTING when playing games regardless of OD on or off on the ASUS ML248H but ghosting when browsing and everything else.

  • Service menu code works on the ASUS ML248H

what u will notice is that all touch sensitive buttons will stay on at all times

    once u follow CrazyDood69 instructions

PRESS the MENU button for the SERVICE MENU 2 pop up

u can go in 2 the SERVICE MENU over n over without using the service code CrazyDood69 provide as long as u don't power down the monitor which will reset the service code. P.S. thank you CrazyDood69 ur life saver.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! <3 If only it would save it would be amazing. If you find out how please post a vid!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW it work on the VS248H aswel!!!!!

  • @GReaZaHD Yeah, I wish there was a way. No more ASUS monitors for me I guess.

  • BTW, while this fixes ghosting right then, I haven't been able to get the setting to "save", so if I turn off my monitor, it goes into power save or I switch inputs, overdrive is re-enabled. Anyone know how to get the OD setting to save?

  • @CrazyDood69 I think i found a way to keep the OD setting off . After you turn off the OD setting then choose the Auto colour option then exit and it seems to work. (p.s) I have to do this every time i restart the monitor. Hope it works! :)

  • @ereHsaWsuseJ Well I can get the OD to stay off until I turn the monitor on and off, without touching that Auto color feature. I did try it though and it didn't do anything different for me. I just can get it to stick after a power cycle.
