I'm a Yankees fan, but I respect the excellence the Red Sox have shown over the past decade. The Yankees and Red Sox have been pretty neck and neck each season, making seasons and playoffs more exciting. So the Yankees have the highest payroll in MLB. Well, the Red Sox have the third highest. Both teams are overpaid.
I give credit to Tampa Bay for having one of the lowest payrolls and having a consistently competitive winning percentage in the American League.
