Good interview, great photographer. Funny how protocols have changed. In South Africa, he would've been fined for smoking in a public building, nevermind in a TV interview!!!
@Trulyoriginalfake Keep in mind this was 30 years ago and tele-prompters or even pigtail earpieces weren't in vogue so when her assistant or the producer has to communicate to her it had to be done visually. Mr. Newman seems very comfortable as he's adapting to the requirements of the day.
great interview and great insight into Newman...I find it strange that many times Ms. Diamonstein looks so disinterested in what he is saying though. Almost as if she didn't know she was on camera, looking off to her left while he is looking at her and talking

Thank you very much for posting this video, and the others from the series. I have found them most enjoyable and enlightening.

She has to be the worst TV interviewer I've ever seen!! How did she get on TV at all? Constantly looking at her question sheet. Zero personality.
She was even worse interviewing Garry Winogrand. She made me uncomfortable. How did he feel??

@Trulyoriginalfake she problebly took a lot of acid in the 60's. give her break. you don't know her story. love when people judge others.
