I find no non-arbitrary reason to abridge the pre-existing rights of the embryo. You don't have to keep the child. There's this thing called adoption. You can give the kid to someone else who is more than happy to raise it as their own if you don't want to take care of it. Then before delivery (yes, you have to deliver the baby), the oxygen is cut off and the baby essentially suffocates. Once no heartbeat is detected, the baby is delivered. I find no non-arbitrary reason to abridge the pre-existing rights of the embryo. It is scientifically demonstrably a Living Human Individual (it's not dead or inert and operates on its environment therefore it is alive, the DNA sequence is Human, and it's DNA pattern is distinctive from it's parents), I can not find a non-arbitrary reason (such as it doesn't have friends yet, it isn't productive yet, it depends on others) to abridge it's rights.

The permission for the baby to use the womans uterus is granted by the decision of the woman to have sex. As mammals and as human beings, the act of sex is designed to create new life. This is not to say that sex was meant to be used always as a means of procreation, but the possibility of creating a new life IS there every time we have sex.

The woman might attempt to deny this fact of nature, but nevertheless, the act of sex is allowing the possibility of pregnancy (even? if not intended), and that in itself, is giving the baby (another person), permission to use her body or organs. Since women are intelligent human beings (and thus realize this), if a new life should be created, she does not then have the right to kill that new, separate, living person.

The baby is not a "potential" human being, it IS a human being.A "potential" human being is before any actual development begins. Once there is development, it is a human being. It depends what you mean by "force someone to give birth." I say you can & should force someone to not kill the human being inside of them. No, because she still had the choice NOT to do what caused her death. We didn't force her. Our decision had to do with protecting other lives, and if she makes a decision she didn't have to make because of that, that is not our problem. I never advocated trying to solve the problem only by banning it, but that is still one step that must be taken if we intend to call ourselves a civilized society.
