PAX 2011 Gears of War 3 Multi-player HD

Dude how far are you from the screen? is there's an HDTV that will allow you to play ps3 and 360 games near the screen even if i stare the screen really close it won't look crappy because i have Polytron Full HD1080p HDTV LED 32 inches it looks crappy when i stare it really close. I also saw 42 inches that also looks crappy when i look close to it, do i need to look a distance away from it, does HDTV for console games are like that? please answer anyone i want to clear my mind with your answer.

Looks to me like the retro lancer is a mid range to close range while the normal lancer is mid range support. Looking forward for the beta and retro lancer. ( I just hope I don't find any shotgun only fags online who will abuse the game).

@DethHarmonik nah they dont.the retro lancer is a close to mid range burst fire weapon with a kinda hard to manage recoil,meaning its sux used from long range.where as the regular lancer can be used from all distances and has a more managable recoil.both weapons have nice features though and i will be using the retro just for the beyonet charge.u can get some pretty quick kills if ur smart with it.unlike the chainsaw where u cant charge them and have to run up 2 them real slow to saw them if far

Ahh thank you. Good to know. And yeah the RL charge looks nuts. I love the new dynamics that they've brought to this game with the new weapons. Can't wait to get a taste of the beta.

@DethHarmonik They don't. The lancer is basically the same. The plancer's recoil in unreal, but it's not to be used as a long range rifle. Upclose it is devastating. 2 or 3 bullets can down an enemy at close range.

Yeah from all the PAX videos that I've watched, it seems as if the RL is meant to be paired with the sawed off shotty for close ranged styled players. Looks like it'd be a fun weapon to use but I'm sure that I'm still going to be devoted to the hammer burst. Especially with the new first person view and all. A lot more accurate.

There actually is "Stopping Power" in this game. And the reason they don't do the executions is because they probably don't know that they have to hold the Y button.

@novic66 you have to remember a lot of the people here are trying these games out for the first time. Some I think never even played prior gears. I know i was watching someone shooting at their own team mate because they didnt know better, but they still have fun with it. Im glad noobies try out the game so then they buy it later and can enjoy it. We were all noobs at some point lol.

@zadams124 I just uploaded a vid with a new execution. I think most people just wanted to win and get most kills while they were there they weren't worried about trying them lol. I know i didnt try them because it felt so chaotic and wanted to move onto the other guy fast. But you will enjoy the game for sure!

@zadams124 The reason why people MAY NOT BE ABLE to do the executions is because executions have to be unlocked by points so maybe they don't have enough points to actually obtain the execution or they haven't purchased the executions yet. Sucks that we don't get to see them. =/

The setup for choosing your character, guns and camo looks pretty awesome! Looks like the gameplay is faster like Gears 1 which is cool aswell.

@xXxPaulSnakexXx I don't think they will 'fix' the accuracy of the retro lancer, since the retro lancer is more powerful than the normal lancer... So that's the downside of the retro lancer , that it has lower accuracy...
