  • Its a Funky Miracle its a dope illin break beat.

The Guitar riffs and The Drum beat - is on the Funky Money.

    Illin.

  • That Track Is so Kool !!!!

  • i got the same pressing! haha, and is that a gemini? i might of had the same record player two years ago.... good for you man!

  • Too fast, but still glad to hear it.

  • the name of the second track?

  • Does anybody know if it was Leo or George who wrote the main riff? Even though George starts the thing, Leo wrote so much of there early stuff. There are no proper credits on the Josy cds. I'm hoping that writing credits are on the old LPs. If anybody has them to look at and post, I'd appreciate it very much, so I can thank the right guy for it. This one riff changed everything for me.

  • what a groove! i loooove the drums and organ. thanks for sharing!

  • POWERFUL ;)

  • hahah i had to just start bustin shit off the top...too funky.

  • Zigaboo's snare drum has this "metallic" sound that you just don't get to hear much of nowadays!!

  • The Meters were the all-time masters of the concept of 'less is more'.

30 years later, and we've still got a long way to go, to understand what these guys were doing.

And these guys could drop this funk in their sleep.

  • oh damn shits hard.

  • the illest drums in the universe.

    did you think `zig`realised that?

  • cool tune but i dont like those concord needles

  • It's actually titled "Cardova" it's off of The Meters self titled album. Circa 1969

  • god bless the meters!!!

  • As a matter of fact, this is not "Cissy Strut" 'cuz I rememba King Tee (DJ Pooh/The Unknown DJ on productions) kill'd that sample on either the first, or second single off their first album "Act A Fool"!

  • Kwame ('n A New Beginning) kill'd this on his 1st album...forgot tha name of the joint tho'!!!

  • god those drums are ill

  • Funky stuff...sounds like Sly and the Family Stone minus singing.

  • VERY nice track. Quentin Tarentino used this in "Jackie Brown".

  • Meters is good stuff

  • Thanks for picking up the slack FunkyMuleFromSussex! Hopefully UMG will stop blocking my other funky vinyl tracks so I can post more. Cheers & New Years!

  • What is this tune called?

  • I think it's called the Sissy Strut by the Meters.

  • I found out its called Carova

  • the second song is called "sing a simple song"

  • Yeah, it was this version of "Sing A Simple Song" that DJ Marley Marl pioneer'd (on the samplin' tip) for LL Cool J's "Mama Said Knock You Out" (RMX), 'n 3rd Bass's "Product Of The Environment" (RMX)...WHOA!!!

  • I'mma have to check that 'cuz I rememba cut'n up "Cissy Strut" on the one's 'n two's, 'n I don't think this is that particular joint!!!

  • Whats first song??
