yeah the move down the middle and the snap is what catches many off guard. I dont see to many people who are good at this but it is worth developing and a lot of fun
@itsmefalconOo Yeah the whole point of the snapshot (in my opinion) is to release the puck quickly and take the goalie by surprise. You can't wind up like you would for a wrist or slap shot because it just tells the goalie what you're going to do, so to put some power into a snap shot you'll need either strong wrists, a pretty whippy stick or to be skating at full blast so that the momentum carries over into the shot.
Personally I use a 70 flex intermediate shaft which helps my snap shot a lot.
@thomasfrellick Are you kidding me? Snap shots can be released the FASTEST! Maybe not the hardest. They can be as good as a wrister too with accuracy and speed with a faster more suprising release.
Very good video. The most important part of the technique is to start out wide with the puck, then bring it in a bit before taking the actual shot. The motion itself is very easy once you get used to it.
my snap shot would be released way faster, than if i took a wrist shot sure it would be hard enough but the goalie would have more time to read / react to my shot as apposed to my snap shot.
on every youtube video everyone criticizes everybody who demonstrates how to take shots, there are some players that are going to better than others at taking certain shots but these kids demonstrated the right way to take them, its good enough
can you even get it off the ice ?

what is the point of doing a snap shot like that, you can take a slapshot in that amount of time
thomasfrellick 2 years ago
it throws the goalie off and if you are good enough you can do a quick shot like that through the defenders legs
guitarvillain2 2 years ago
i mean the way they take the snap sht its so slow they cant do it for shit

I dont even do that unless im shooting through screens to keep it low, otherwise its
about quick release
mkmacdaddy3000 2 years ago
why don't u wrist shot?
nathanpoon 2 years ago
cause its less powerful and takes longer to release than a snap shot
mkmacdaddy3000 2 years ago
what i'm trying to say is that when ur between the hash marks y dont' u wrist it cuz i'm sure you have enuff power if u played for long
nathanpoon 2 years ago
