Yeah yeah Vanessa has an okay voice. It's just her interpretation of Mimi I don't like. She's forcing the acting and using hand gestures to show her characters feelings. Which isn't good enough.
vanessa's singing is good, but i think i think she was a little too smiley at the wrong parts. She was concentrating too much on remembering her lyrics. not bad though.
the thing is with vanessa hudgens, as adorable as she is, she's too conscious. she is a decent actress and singer and she focused too much on herself and not on the character--the feelings and the emotions. Note that Mimi was a pivotal character in the play who shows emotional depth. had Vanessa understood the complexity of it and was able to convince that she was it, it would have been more successful. The fact tht she was casted as Mimi, the producer/s believed that she could do it.
whatever anyone says, give Vanessa Hudgens credit, she's making a career i'm sure most hack singers wish they could have.
You can pick out every little detail from her performances, or you can get your head out your ass and realize that she was cast FOR A REASON.
The only way you can critique anyones performance is if you beat them out for a role or you're a professional critic who's opinion is published, not shared on youtube videos.

He's terrified to let himself get close to anyone else and Mimi is wearing down his defenses. She's explaining that she understands and she's scared too, so after fighting with himself Roger decides to take her outside and kiss her, which Mark describes and can be seen (on stage) at the end of the song.
I prefere her like actress! But.. She's so beautiful! I love her :)
