  • Looks so amazing and easy. Thanks for sharing.

  • @ djddavies : totally agree! Every year engines have more power and less fuel consumption. And to .... Girl: Try this thing called maintenance and than expect reliability!

  • @Forgivensaved u didnt even send that guy that comment cuz u made a space between the @ and his name so it didnt send it to him

  • An engine should be designed first and foremost to never, ever, ever fail. These car engines are designed as complex devices, and the more complex a device is, the more prone it is to failing. Valves wear out, cylinders and rings wear out, any one system breaks because of a single point of failure... like oil pan bolt falling out, or leak in cooling system, and whole engine is destroyed.

  • @cobrachoppergirl That statement completely ignores the last 50 years of engine advancements. Never have engines been more reliable. Almost never see a broken down car on the side of the road that wasn't owner induced. Back in the day that was a normal sight.

  • must be a b18c1 looks like what used to be in my teggy. Until i upgraded to a subaru :)

  • Looks like fords engine that they use in the mazda 6 and the focus.

  • @liftedcj7on44s i think so too

  • perfect

  • Coolest thing I've ever seen.

  • I wish my engine could rebuild itself like that

  • 420a dodgeNeon/MitsubishiEclipse

  • @stoone113 not even close, 420a motors use a single timing belt, not two timing chains.

  • @crowbarmaster

alright if u say so, but it looks the same as my 420a engine...

  • @stoone113 a lot of 4cyls look the same, but trust me, way different timing setup, I've built 4 420a motors and the 420a has an intake that isn't even close to that, and all 420a's had aluminum intakes. the ECB or A588 SOHC models were the only engines to have plastic intake manifolds, but the TB comes out from the bottom. there is a lot different than this duratec engine.

  • @crowbarmaster

you seem to know a lot about engine's, or i know very little,

but what would you recommend would be a good mod to upgrade the performance my 420a?

  • @stoone113 I suggest you register and take a look around in the neon forums. there is a lot of info there on 2.0 engine upgrades @ forums.neons.org. introduce yourself and ask that question. Out of the many car forums I have been to, the members there are some of the nicest and most helpful people I've ever met. They will send you in the right direction. I will be right there to greet you.

  • Not really

  • 4g63

  • Oil pan gasket???????

  • That's a sweet v4! ;)

  • @thedewnie v4 you mean i4

  • I wish it went together that easy in real life lmao...bad ass video!!

  • great video

  • mane...

  • I think its a Hyundai Tiburons engine.

  • i would have found it more educational if everything was labelled. or if some one explained what was going on for the biginners

  • looks like a toyota matrix

  • if only i was dr manhattan , i would be able to put a motor together just like that and that easy too lol.

  • Cool animation, but that's the ecotec motor found in the cobalt SS, 'cause the exhaust is on the wrong side for a mistu-shity motor and ford motors are not DOHC motors other than the ford SHO which had a yamaha engine.

  • 5* for the animation!!!

  • I hope some poor guy doesn't see this and try to assemble the pistons and rods to the crank and then try to stick the whole assembly in from the bottom!

  • show this to a chinese kid and he'll be able to build you a new engine in a day.

  • @OriginOfStencil For 3$.

  • Someone who actually knows there way around an engine needs to upload this video with the music replaced with a brief description of each component and how it functions in the engine, thats how you can prove you know your way around an engine.

  • I dont even understand why you call that little turd an engine its a damn queef machine is what it is.

  • @BenzinFresser haters gonna hate

  • LS9 #FTW

  • @BenzinFresser Looks like the 4x4-driving redneck troll has chimed in. Keep feeding gas to that carbureted V-8 and enjoy your 12mpg.

  • simplicity in itself

  • god i love cars but building the motor is such a drag. OMFG a 4g63 was like the worst one ive had did a ton of rookie mistakes that i knew better then. LOL and a 2.2 honda s2000 was a bitch just for head gasket and head studs

  • honda duratec are coil on plug

  • its never this fukkin easy haha

  • Someone needs to make a 4g63 one of these videos!

  • i know right!

  • that is NOT a 4g63. it is more like a ford 2.0 ztech motor found in most escort, focus and the like

  • again. NOT a 4g63, 4g63t, 4g64 nor 420a engine. this did NOT come from an eclipse. and again, on the chain. you still have to worry about it popping. remember. the links wear out of chains badly. i've had quit a few break and it was lubed properly. just stressed from racing. remember in younger bicycling days when the chains would break and pop no matter the lube? ky couldn't keep those things from breaking. so either way, neither is better than the other as i stated before..

  • i swear every 3rd youtube user has uploaded this fucking video

and its a ford motor ffs

  • looks like a 4g63

  • its a fucking 2.0 mitsubishi motor out of the talons or eclipse i look s like a 420 a

  • @smikewilson it is a 1.6 16valve ford motor

  • @smikewilson

im a car mecanist and this is not a 2.0 mitsubitshi motor it is an 1.6 16 valve ford motor i´am working for a ford dealership here in iceland and this is a ford motor

  • it surely the dodge caliber 2.4liter engine (with a bit of mitsubishi in it)

  • i thought it was a ford engine. huh. well i guess. thats pretty sweet. :)

  • Still pretty confident it's used in audi's :D.

  • i tell ya what, u do not wanna work on these engines. this is the reason i got rid of my eclipse. i hate DOHC motors

  • no... honduh vtak

  • I would say 1.8 miata, but it kinda loks like my Kia sportage's 2.0 engine. same valve cover at least.

  • its a 2.0l ford duratec engine..the engine that is in the ford focus

  • thats a miata 1.8l

  • I agree it is the 1.8 miata I have worked on them before its same build

  • ok, first off, it's not a 4g63 nor a 4g63t, and it's not a honda engine either. so rule out any of those, it could be a toyota, lexus, ford, mazda, and a few other 4 cylinder engines that to this day use the dinosaur timing chain...although the chain as opposed to the belt does have it's ups and downs

  • first of all a timing chain with proper lubrification is more reliable than the timing belt, and also in rigourous engine condition (raccing aswell) with a proper lubricated timing chain you wont have the bad suprise that timing belt provide when they rip appart in racing condition LOL

  • unless its a 22r/re timing chain. they break. other than that, there ay okay. we had a bad surprise on a rainy day with our dodge stratus. were driving and then POP!!! the belts poking out of the valve shroud and there is a huge mess around the engine.

  • b16 i think

  • the valve cover header and other parts aren't B16. so i think it isn' b16 engine.

  • Thats a v-8 engine right?

  • how would that be a v8? it only has 4 cylinders :D

  • so its 4 inline?

  • uh yeah...obviously as you can see in the video

  • Please do not go off and build an engine now. lol unless this was a joke post.

  • it should say: How to build a crappy engine...lol

  • AMAZING

  • its honda's engine

  • great video .very accurate,

  • if only the video named each item as it showed ha

  • Good Exhibition

  • VW motor, for sure, worked for years on these engines. Also used in certain audi's

  • this is a ford duratec, the user who added the vid either removed the intro or just got it the way it is, i have the vid and in the beginning it says "FORD Duratec HE, 4 Cylinder PFI"

    :)

it may also be used in VW's and certain Audi's as well, after all, it's an engine at the end of the day and they all look alike :D, but that doesn't make them the original designers :)

  • lol i wish i could put a motor together in 3 minutes an 12 seconds!

  • this looks like a 1zz toyota celica gt engine

  • great video, never seen it broken down like this before

  • Yep a Toyota celica motor I can tell by the intake manifold and the valve cover gasket.... lol YOSH!!!!

  • Thats a Toyota motor lol prove me wrong....

  • BYCURE213 i believe you are incorrect, for a start SR20's DO NOT have timing chains, nor do they have serpentine belt set ups, and the oil filter is on the intake side, exhaust manifold and oil dipstick are all wrong

it is in fact a Deutz motor made in germany :)

  • sr20s do have a chain i know cos my mate owns one

  • if yu dont no sr20 don't tok mate

  • no my friends that would be an SR20, i recognize that valve cover, its a 4 cyl, and rear wheel drive, its a Nissan Sylvia engine.

  • Does the timing belt have to be removed to take the vavle train off to see the top of the pistons? If that makes any sense.

  • that is awesome needs to be slowed down though

  • WOW , that's way to complicated for me.

  • Ford Zetec?

  • wow, no gaskets or rings were put in it. and no thats not a 4g63 or a 4g64.

  • haha this is our screensaver at repco on our parts computer

  • cool video !!!!!

  • U PPl R Retarded This Iz Tha 4G63 NA Out Of A 1st Gen Eclcipse 90'- 94'!!

    Idoitz =P

  • You done even know that engine is do you!

This not a 4g63 not by any chance !

4g63 have timing belt not chain have aluminum intake and not plastic... etc

    thats a ford engine

  • no piston rings in this engine lol and its not a honda its toyota

  • I'll say it again, Ford Duratec 2.2/2.3. It's used widely in the Elan DP02/ Van Diemen SCCA cars. It's street car host is the ford ranger and Mazda B-series pickups. I build parts for this motor every day! Especially the EGR-delete plate (replaces the 5 sided plate that bolts onto the side of the block at 1:57). Not Honda, Not Toyota - Ford, guys! :D

  • you mean mazda??

  • ford duratec, used in some mazdas. You know mazda is owned by ford, right?

  • not a HONDA. has a gay timing chain.. not a belt.. but cool video!!

  • k20s have chains smart-guy.

  • Uh, what exactly is "gay" about a timing chain which lasts the life of any car vs what I guess would be a "heterosexual"(??) timing belt that's designed to snap every 60,020 miles?

  • Its a Deutz engine ,they made a screesaver of this ! Go to Deutz to reach them or type in google Deutz engine screensaver !

  • i know it's honda engine......but what the name of that engine ???

  • It's not Honda, period.

  • Sorry guys, Ford Duratec.

  • that's not a k20. Look where the oil filter is. Good vid, thanks for posting it.

  • It's no Honda...K20 or otherwise. Easy details to spot are a K20 will have three cam lobes for every pair of valves. It will also use rocker arms...not lifters.

A better version of this video is called:

car engine ford 3d duratec HE assemblage

  • nice honda k20. hope to see a mitsubishi 4g63t next

  • they have a mitsubishi one. type in Building a 4g63 in 10 minutes

  • no head gasket :P

  • yea they did put one in

  • honda k-series

  • where i can download this video

  • Its intresting to know how the engine is put together. what car is this engine from?

  • That is just beautiful

  • Awesome. The bolts turn as they go in! love it. But I gotta say I didn't see any piston rings go on. So minus 1 point. but A+ excellent job!!
