@theshak06 Wow, and the thing lived through one of my video's? Apple does make them well I see!
It did also remind me of Broken Sword, the story is nowhere near as compelling here though, but the ingame artstyle does remind me of it and makes me want to play Broken Sword again haha.
@EdwardElric555 Yeah, that would have been a great feature if they did that and shouldn't be hard to implement. Buying the German version gets you German subtitles too, so that's no option either if you don't know the language well.
@PeteDorr The artstyle is really nice in the game, I love how everything is hand drawn, just makes these games extra special for me. Glad you liked the review and thank you for watching Pete!
@3DChris82 'They' in this case are mainly indie developers, mainstream publisher give the genre very little attention. You'll see very few of these games getting a decent budget, like they did in the 90s. So, maybe dead is a bad term, but less lively?
I have to say, I thought this genre was a waste of time. Then I played Tales of Monkey Island, and Now I am hooked!!!!! Thanks for showing all the great titles. I guess one has to play these games in order to understand how addicting they can be! Peace.
@maricopaapt14 I get that, at first glance these type of games really don't look all that engaging. You just point on stuff and click, that's all there is too it really, like those old interactive cartoon things. It's when one totally grabs your attention that you'll find what makes these games work though. Very few other genres can convey a story and develop characters as well as this. The good ones are like a good novel unfolding before you, with plenty of laughs throughout :)
@GeriatricFan1963 I think it's due to its slow nature and mostly linear progression that the genre is fading out. There no place for that in the mainstream market of today that's all about high action and thrills... and war ;)
@HalfBlindGamer I think Linear progression is a bit of an unfair reason. Lots of other category of games have very linear stories or a linear way of reaching objectives, etc. But I can see why this would be one of the first things people think of when they think "Point to click". Thank goodness for non mainstream companies like Daedalic. As for it all being about war, come on! :) There's got to be room for the Puzzle and strategy games somewhere.
@AtsumaKarin I could get around the voice work as well and it did get a couple of good chuckles out of me, which is good :D
The plotholes though, well they are REALLY bad. Not wanting to spoil anything, but around the end I was pretty pissed off. It's not even time travel related that made it nonsense, it's just awful storytelling.
The presentation is really top notch though and it's only at the very end where you start hating the writer lol.
@TheLoadingScreenz Agreed, such a shame that we don't see more big budget titles in this genre, I loved those! It was fun to play a generally well build game like that again.
@usunoro It's cause most of them take too long, and most people want short simple games on there phones to just kill a few mins at a time, also the size of the games can be a problem as well, as some phones, and/or mobile OS's have file size limits that each game can be. The DS/DSi/3DS however is a much better choice for a mobile platform for these types of games, using both screens, and game pad, and buttons, etc...
@usunoro To be honest, never really cared to check if there were heh. The games do tend to be big though, even without the voices there are a lot of graphical assets to make a decently long game like this.
@austinmackert A real shame indeed, although occasionally it had me laughing for a good bit hah. The German version sounds so much more better though (quite surprisingly, as normally I don't care for German dubs at all).
Reminds me of Broken Sword, I'm viewing this video on my new iPad Seb! Yeaaaaaah lol Had to bless it with your vids first you see lol

Good to see you still at it...Surprised there are any Point to click games left, to be honest. Great genre though, would love to see a comeback.

Yay! Another HBG vid! :D
Very good review, man. I don't particularly mind bad/sub-par voice acting as that can give the game its own character sometimes. :P
Plot holes are a bit less tolerable for me, though but I guess when you're talking time-travel, it's one of the easiest things to muck up. :P
Still a fan of the artwork/music for this. Gonna try to pick it up soon. :)
