The old testament, which reflects a time period before the fullness of God's revelation in Christ, represents the very, very gradual and partial revelation of God to humanity through a very specific people in a very specific place. There had to be, as it were, an introductory period. In short, God worked within our parameters to some degree, until "the fullness of time" when a complete revelation was effected. God knows we can be violent. He moved us away from that in Christ.

This is incorrect. The Bible is a book written by multiple authors over a long period of time, with two distinct time periods, OT and NT, and in a coherent, literary fashion. The Koran was written at one time by the apologists of a military leader who advocated murder. In the NT we do not find any kind of advocating of violence to others, in fact it is discouraged.

as long as the health insurance mandate language is not in the final legislation great I don't have any issues. If it is the final legislation then is unconstitutional. The problem is not with insurance but with the high cost of healthcare. Anyone trying to argue health insurance for all are complete idiots as that is not addressing the causes of skyrocket healthcare. Against notice how I say healthcare and not health insurance.
