  • very good!!

  • A MASTERPIECE !!!!

  • dudes, i don't shit you...i found this one in my dead father vinyl collection

  • @akurat73 hehehehe... well. it kinda reminds me of ray coniff or julio iglesias meets uriah heep meets tower of power ha! middle part's great. i do own this CD and enjoy it in a musician's sort of way, BUT it's hard to believe that this is the same band that released that astonishingly HEAVY debut in 1970. this would sound even better if i were on a love boat episode, on mushrooms, watching all those dorky actors getting drunk, falling on their asses, falling in loooove...

  • Μπραβο ρε Σουλτάνα, εβαλες ένα απο τα καλυτερα κομμάτια όλων των εποχών... ακόμη και τώρα το ακούω και τρελαίνομαι!

  • PQP!!

  • ROBEYE YOUR DEADSET ON THE MARK IT IS BULLSHIT...CMON AMAZON GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER...U TRYIN TO SCREW THIS BAND OR WHAT

  • musically excellent...had the album once but gods know where it is now...wonder if it is on CD...as many before them another under rated band...why does it happen.. u know its u and I , the people that make em under rated or popular so now one knows where to lay the blame

  • i got introduced to this in AA lol, many years ago

  • Nice Mellotron! Reminds me of Cressida a bit.

  • @dharmaseed No Mellotron on this, the strings and brass are all real.

  • Butchered in the end... excellent song! Especially after 4:00!

  • never heard of these guys i wonder why they arent that know there fucking great i like the synth in the backround reminds me of the doors

  • @MrXKDY I will tell you how as great as the first album is and dont get me wrong i love it. The first album sounded like a few other bands at the time dark gloomy sound guitar and organ driven hard rock. This album is way more creative more complex but still listenable the arrangements on this album blow the first one away. However some of the mindless masses wont like this i hope you do

  • This album has to be one of the best Heavy Jazz Prog Rock Fusion albums i have ever heard. The arrangements are insane great horn section, fender rhodes, guitar, bass and to top it all off the amazing vocals of John Lawton. My favorite song from this album is the other 11 min epic called Sorrow. This album is so tight

  • Great tune and album. Was the music I played for my high school tennis team mates before we conquered and won CIF.

  • Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

  • love the first album, would love to own this stuff on CD, but if I'm spending $65, I'm buying Nuclear Assault's Handle with Care.

  • Anyone have the lyrics??

  • @FClark11 the lyrics to this song i would write them down as you are listening

    what a great fuckin song

  • perfect tunes, innovativ, never heard so much creativity, comparible to the early

    genesis,lf never dies.............................

  • could you beleive i buy this in vinyl in 1991 in a thrift store in chicago at only 50 cents! i bring it back home to puerto rico only played it once cuz dont want to mess it up!

  • My favorite album!

  • OMFG those bass lines are so absurd!!!! The keyboard as well!!!

  • i love this song, the whole album is great.

  • great piano

  • soultana 100 eisai thea

  • soultana100 eisai thea!!

  • This Album was a departure from the heavier metal sound of their first great album. This album took the group to new uncharted waters of jazz sound with the mix of rock.Their talent was surprisingly well carried over to this album. The vocals are strong, the music was well written.Just listen for yourself.

  • @TheThirstyMoon You are 100 percent correct this album is killer along with thier 1970 debut. Im guessing you like the band Thirsty Moon

  • @TheBeaugraham Yes I do.Not many people here in the US even know of the group.I was lucky enough to have a friend at a record store called"LICORICE PIZZA".He always pointed me towards new sounds from over seas.I found the BRAIN label to provide great groups.

  • @TheThirstyMoon Yah the Brain label has some good bands Satin Whale, Roundhouse, Excalibur and way more hey

  • wikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwikiwik wik.

  • This record blew my mind when I got it. This song in particular has so many layers and amazing instrumental sections. As someone mentioned: There are a ton of influences and flavors just on this one track. Chicago, even a bit of Beach Boys maybe, and straight up rock, jazz and just sheer bad assedness. Very unique and original.

  • this song is amezing!

  • I found this in a cutout bin in Portland, Oregon and bought it based on the cover art. One of the best finds ever! This song is truly epic.

  • I like the alternative US album cover better. More sinister looking. Same room but a few members are sitting in different positions.

  • I think that banquet is their best album.Spanish galleon is a masterpiece!!!

  • I searched and finally found this piece of work. I had to imported this album in 1978 and this is the song of why I spent so much money. A truly fantastic work. The whole album is great and original. Yea, you can say they sound like so and so, but they are original style that no one can and will duplicate. I just wish I saw them in concert.

  • It's similar to "In memory of Elizabeth Reed" by the Allman Brothers, latin-jazz-prog rock. Excellent in all ways.

  • My favorite album of Lucifer's friend

this album is too brilliant "

    Peace . . .

  • @midnightjames81 Truer words were never spoken as great as their self titled albums is. This album beats it i would say this is heavy Jazz Prog Rock Fusion at its best. I think the best song on the album is Sorrow i view that song as a treat and i only play it every now and then.

  • 音悪ぃな。

    ただでさえもとが薄めのサウンドなのに、さらに劣化してるんじゃ、せっかくこれを聴いてもらえても、買いたいと思ってもらえないかもなぁ

  • Sounds a bit like Samba Pa Ti by Santana

  • yes like santana ,but " Treat "from the 1rst album :Santana..

  • Toto with the right attitude.... And better

    lead vocals...Lawton plus Dieter's bass

    work. Great stuff

  • The complete album is fantastic, outstanding. For those, who especially like this sound and arrangement of LF, the band did one album with a german guy called M-M Westernhagen, I don`t know the title. But t`was a little later after "banquet" was recorded.

  • ...theyy are underrated indeed.....great musicians, and a great field of influences they had....experimental and open minded.....there are no tags for bands such L.F...

  • Haven't heard this song since I had to put the vinyl away. Bought the album in 76 I think.

Thanks for the post. Too many folks haven't and never will hear it.

    DIO

  • When I first heard this record on WPLR in New Haven, CT. I had it ordered special from Cutlers who had to import it from Germany. Had this album for over 35 years. These guys CAN JAM! Other sequencial songs release never compaired to this one. This whole record is a work of art. A must listen to

  • The is my favorite one, by far. But all their material is great. "Sorrow" compliments this song well.

  • during about 12 minutes long, you can meet a new music atmosphere. what a wonderful track of Lucifer's Friend. i love it.

  • I Need The Lyrics D: !! this song is awesome

  • Amazing. I love these guys!

  • I have an old tapes from L Friend,and I like the songs: turn in on time,etc,. I can`t remember the name of the album,but I like very much,its magnific,fantastic music...great vocals,

  • That's just perfect..

  • This was the 1st friend album I ever heard back in the day and listened to it for years, luv it to death ! But when I heard other earlier and later albums, to me at least they never lived up to this banquet record. This is a most unusual and vastly underated album for sure. If I remeber the cd is actually missing the 1st track from the album version.

  • these guys were so amazing!!

  • amazing!!I've been looking for this song...

  • I decided to listen to this tune since I never listened to Lucifer's Friend after their second album, seems like I made the right choice knowing at the time they were leaning toward a jazz influence(I consider their first their best and way ahead of it's time). Would have followed them more if they had stayed true to the first album(they were being taken advantage of back then as well....)

  • ok this is bullshit man, This CD is going for 65 bucks or something on amazon! whats going on here? Everytime I find discover something great it's always expensive as fuck. im pissed. im going to the bar.

  • @RobEye79 that's the problem with discovering long kept secrets, man. you finally discover them after they are out of print and often the label has nose dived into oblivion, then you gotta shell out the cash for it....

  • @RobEye79 pirate a copy bro

  • @RobEye79 And people wonder why downloading is getting so popular?

  • @RobEye79 You need a turntable, vinyl copies of this are dirt cheap.

  • @RobEye79 try finding stuff like this on vinyl. You might need to add a zero to the end.

  • @RobEye79 That is exactly how i would have worded it

  • @RobEye79 Download it then, lol

  • You've done it again LB!!! Is this available on CD? I must get it asap.

  • On The Flip Side Is A Song Called Sorrow's

    Equally Tasty

  • most underrated band of all time. perfect jazz-fusion blend into progressive rock.

  • What other band/albums have this jazz fusion sound? I like some Steely Dan and Santana. I hear early Chicago is good, but i don't know where to start.

    thanks.

  • You could try Wishbone Ash. They're another awesome underrated 70s band, and have a bit of a jazzy sound sometimes. Also, if you like just instrumental, check out Mahavishnu Orchestra. I like what I've heard from them.

  • Wishbone Ash is one of my all time faves!

  • @stevieVantanna Hey i got one for you have you ever checked out Brian Augers Oblivion Express. If you like this album and Steely Dan i can promise you you will like Brian Auger. Brian Auger is one of the best Hammond Organ players around

check out Brians Work between 1969-1975 that was his best era.

  • i love this song!!! one of the greatest songs ever... this is what it called "jazz fusion". unfortunately not a famous band.

with the lights of a far away temple drifting awaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

  • Is this a live version?

  • oye como va?

  • One of the most underrated heavy metal bands ever.

Nice bass and keyboard lines and a great vocalist!

The trumpet is very cool as well.

  • Great Record And Rare!

  • Very fast... realy
