@superness56 Well Yamcha was beating Goku the first time they met, but that was because Goku was getting hungry. Then Bulma came out of the shade and Yamcha, who was afraid of women back then, fainted and Puar had to carry him away. So he actually lost to Bulma which may be an even bigger insult.

@ShiningS9 Yamcha had like a power level of 110 in the DB saga(with Goku as a kid). I'm not an expert on the DB saga, but I know Saiyans get stronger after every fight(as stated by Vegeta if I recall in the Frieza saga), and he came back with a PL of 120 to fight and kick Yamcha's ass, after being beaten in their first fight, "saved" by Yamcha seeing Bulma- his fear of girls causing him to get distracted or w/e. Hercule's power level was only 58, so I'd say no.

Obviously, those Cell Juniors should have lost the fight if Yamcha and Tien could hurt them at this point. I know, they've got high attack and low defense, but there's just no excuse.

in Z, he died against a Saibamen because he gets cocky, failed to prove he was a decent fighter to bulma, tries to train for the androids but fails do to getting distracted by woman, during bojack unbound, he falls out of the ring and instead of flying back, he just keeps falling down. and i dont like his personality, yeah he got fucked after original dragonball, it doesnt matter what you can do, if you are a dick, it wont mattter

in one of my previous comments, i mentioned how i didnt like his personality
krillin at least distracted frieza, almost chopped nappas head off (but he moved), and was useful in frieza saga. vegeta probably has the highest kill count out of the Z fighters, and saved krillin, gohan (twice), goku and tthe entire universes asses, even in the movies he was very helpful. piccolo killed raditz, saved gohan, krillin, and vegeta. at least they redeem themselves
@highlander5523 vegeta only killed fodder characters, much Like Yamcha Defeated Fodder characters in DB. Vegetas actions not only cost him but everybody else around him. Redemption? if he didnt shoot cell in the back at the end of the cell saga, everybody would be dead, if he didnt distract kid buu, the universe would be dead, if he didnt help goku during return of cooler, everybody would be dead, if he didnt fuse with goku (twice), everybody would be screwed, he almost killed fat buu, and he gave goku enough motivation (mostly krillin) to go SSJ for the 1st time. and vegeta is more justified since his entire race was killed as a kid

I dont care howmanytimes he lost he beat his main fear. He talks trash, and if he loses, he doesnt make it into a big deal and carries on.

What I don't understand is how all the cell juniors were apparently almost as strong as the real Cell. After all, they wouldn't otherwise be able to overpower Vegeta, Trunks, or even the weakened Goku.

@demonfox910 Not utterly true, Tien was able to fuck over Imperfect Cell and would likely have been able to kill Cell, as for Piccolo he was horrendously powerful during the Cell saga, only surpassed by Goku and Gohan. Goku being the protagonist and Gohan his son, so they will obv be powerful. Android 16 was also able to thrash Cell.
@Hexxedchild android sixteen found himself and cell to equal in power. cells rgenerative capabilities helped tip the bal;ance. tien was able to knock imperfect cell back repeatedly, but the blasts did cell no visible damage. there is no evidence that tien could kill cell. and piccolo was surpassed by imperfect cell (after he ran away and tsrated sucking up people's souls) and vegeta and trunks
@demonfox910 DBZ fucked the whole multiverse up. Everything after Frieza-saga just makes zero sense. Marginalization of 99% of the cast (in a show that's supposed to be about the Z Fighters, no less) is a mere byproduct of the ridiculous power creep introduced by retconning Super Saiyan into just a stronger form for Goku (and then the other Saiyans; Vegeta even gets to lampshade this) and then building up with the exponential growth using SSJ as the baseline.

@InternationalBoy first off i was refering to when gohan was just SS1, and was still holding his own against fighters a bit stronger than cell juniors. and also just about every human besides yamcha and choutzu had some moments of dignity when they were fighting a losing battle (krillin holding his own or at least damaging just about every main villian from piccolo jr saga-kid buu, same for tien. bulma used her brains to manipulate frieza scouts as strong as raditz, ect.)

He underestimated Jackie cuz he was old and got beat up, then stuff like that kept happening. You'd think that once a nerdy looking guy reveals himself as the alien guardian of the earth and beat you up you would learn to expect anything. But Yamcha continued to be cocky and lose.

@InternationalBoy No, Vegeta was fighting guys around his level usually, on Namek Frieza's henchmen were around his level. And Vegeta has shown strategy, in the battle with Recoome he played dead so he could shoot him in the face with a beam when he picked him up. He also escaped with the Dragonballs from Frieza's ship even though Frieza and all his henchmen were only a few feet away. And the "rough ones" Yamcha fights are usually only rough for him.

Dodoria's power level was 22,000 and Vegeta's was 24,000 at the time they fought, not a huge difference. Vegeta also planned how to use the Dragonballs in the fight with Kid Buu to revive everybody, what did Yamcha ever contribute?

Because Tien and Krillin are actually competent. Both have created techniques that many Z-Fighters actually used later because they were useful, both made at past at least one round in the tourneys, both have had times where they successfully stand up against a noticeable stronger enemy(Krillin and the six Saibamen, Tien and Cell, Tien and Buu). Yamcha did none of those. If he's not there to get killed or get his ass kicked, he's there to be useless and watch.

Not really. If they actually fought, it's true Tien wouldn't stand a chance; but he DID save Gohan's hide and Buu did get a cheapshot off of him. Yamcha got it the worst, because well, he IS the worst. Perhaps not characterwise(I like him more than Krillin), but he is noticeably weaker. Maybe he did get fucked over a bit in writing, but to give him a moment where he kicks ass against someone who isn't Nappa or Raditz would just be illegitimate.

krillin at least distracted frieza, almost chopped nappas head off (but he moved), and was useful in frieza saga. vegeta probably has the highest kill count out of the Z fighters, and saved krillin, gohan (twice), goku and tthe entire universes asses, even in the movies he was very helpful. piccolo killed raditz, saved gohan, krillin, and vegeta. at least they redeem themselves

@demonfox910 Not utterly true, Tien was able to fuck over Imperfect Cell and would likely have been able to kill Cell, as for Piccolo he was horrendously powerful during the Cell saga, only surpassed by Goku and Gohan. Goku being the protagonist and Gohan his son, so they will obv be powerful. Android 16 was also able to thrash Cell.

@Hexxedchild android sixteen found himself and cell to equal in power. cells rgenerative capabilities helped tip the bal;ance. tien was able to knock imperfect cell back repeatedly, but the blasts did cell no visible damage. there is no evidence that tien could kill cell. and piccolo was surpassed by imperfect cell (after he ran away and tsrated sucking up people's souls) and vegeta and trunks

Marginalization of 99% of the cast (in a show that's supposed to be about the Z Fighters, no less) is a mere byproduct of the ridiculous power creep introduced by retconning Super Saiyan into just a stronger form for Goku (and then the other Saiyans; Vegeta even gets to lampshade this) and then building up with the exponential growth using SSJ as the baseline.

He underestimated Jackie cuz he was old and got beat up, then stuff like that kept happening. You'd think that once a nerdy looking guy reveals himself as the alien guardian of the earth and beat you up you would learn to expect anything. But Yamcha continued to be cocky and lose.

@InternationalBoy No, Vegeta was fighting guys around his level usually, on Namek Frieza's henchmen were around his level. And Vegeta has shown strategy, in the battle with Recoome he played dead so he could shoot him in the face with a beam when he picked him up. He also escaped with the Dragonballs from Frieza's ship even though Frieza and all his henchmen were only a few feet away. And the "rough ones" Yamcha fights are usually only rough for him.

Dodoria's power level was 22,000 and Vegeta's was 24,000 at the time they fought, not a huge difference. Because Tien and Krillin are actually competent. Both have created techniques that many Z-Fighters actually used later because they were useful, both made at past at least one round in the tourneys, both have had times where they successfully stand up against a noticeable stronger enemy(Krillin and the six Saibamen, Tien and Cell, Tien and Buu). Yamcha did none of those. If he's not there to get killed or get his ass kicked, he's there to be useless and watch.

Not really. If they actually fought, it's true Tien wouldn't stand a chance; but he DID save Gohan's hide and Buu did get a cheapshot off of him. Yamcha got it the worst, because well, he IS the worst. Perhaps not characterwise(I like him more than Krillin), but he is noticeably weaker. Maybe he did get fucked over a bit in writing, but to give him a moment where he kicks ass against someone who isn't Nappa or Raditz would just be illegitimate.
