I have a this exact CPU, and I wanna overlock it, like nothing crazy, just a bit higher. I've never done any overclocking before though, so I was wondering, what do I need to overlock? I have a 550W PSU, but it's also powering a GTX 460, so there's not a TON of extra room there as I understand it. My motherboard is an Asus P7H55-M LX, I don't even know if you can overclock with that.. :/
im doing the same settings as you with an i5-760 and a zalman cpu cooler but it just keeps saying that it failed overclocking :/ IDK what im doing wrong?
lol i got The Asus P7P55D, Core i5 750, 4GB DDR3, lot's of fans (4 at the sides of the case and 2 inside the case) which looks very much like yours :P.
if only my old cpu had broken a few days later (last summer), now I'd have an i5 too!! And I'd have overclocked it. Now I own a Q9550 @3,57GHz with a Zalman cnps9700 and temperature is good at 1,275V (32°C or 89°F)
First off you....DON'T OVERCLOCK WITH STOCK COOLER. espeshaly not that high unless you want to fry your cpu and posibly the motherboard too. I am sorry but if you want to OC then you are going to have to spend a little money on a 3rd party cooler. The stock is not ment for any kind of overclocking. As for guides just google "core i5 overclocking giude." Take it slow and bump up the voltage VERY slowly. Good luck.
3.4 with stock cooler and stock voltages 1.26v is realy easy and good temp and if you want to go further you will need good airflow on the case or change the stock cooler for better :)
Funny how you don't show any priming or stability tests for your OC. Or the fact that you don't even attempt to boot into windows. Hmmm... I wonder why??
I highly doubt its stable with that low voltages. Have you stress tested those settings at all? Most guys with i5 750 me included need to push vcore to 1.35-1.4v and imc around 1.3v to achieve satble 200mhz blck. I can boot to windows with similar voltages than you have, but prime95 or any stress test programs gives errors almost immideatly after i lauch it.
dude how the hell you are running the cpu at 4.0 ghz only on cpu 1.2 volt
thousandsunny627 3 months ago
Bull shit 1.2 v that is special FX's
BLZEIN 4 months ago
Not stable at all, maybe for about 3 to 4 hours but not 24 hours

I know doing something on youre own is fun, but why dont you guys just buy a Core i5 2500 ? O.o

I overclocked my Intel Core i5 750 to 3,7 GHZ at 1,25V.
I believe it's running stable, had it running for about a week now with these settings, and I'm playing 24/7 basically.
" Arma 2, GTA 4, WoW, Battlefield Bad Company 2 "
Runs very fine, I know people say DO PRIME 95 etc.. What for? I'll never stress my CPU that much anyways.
ThePunkfisk 7 months ago
@ThePunkfisk run OCCT (1 hour test) and you should do prime 95 for like 12 hours or so just to test whether or not it will always run stable
