As someone who played D&D and Warhammer since before PC's and the internet existed I can say this. They both borrowed from Tolkien. Warhammer innovated considerably on the development of elves, orcs, dark elves and the like as did D&D. Warcraft borrowed off both systems considerably but innovated as well.
But really the whole genre was invented by Tolkien.

AND if warhammer wanted to put in new attacks they wouldnt make it so you have to reach the new level cap they would just add them between levels.

Compared to Wow when it first came out, WAR is 10 X times the game atm. Wow has had countless updates/fixes and two expansions. WAR is just getting started.

I have played both games, WoW has it's good points, PVE i feel was better more dungeons and instances game runs smother in general as lower system requirements.
But the PVP in War, I feel is far better. You have to be more focused on team work in order to win scenarios and keep taking. better graphics good character abilitys.
I would say Warhammer is the better game and although they need to add more PvE content.

i had a level 80 shaman on wow but now i have a rank 40 black orc and a rank 40 choppa and i have to say that i enjoy WAR more do it's focus on PvP and everyone who has played WoW for a month knows that it's PvP is absolute crap.
I'd say WOW by a fair margin there's simply more to do, although war does beat WOW in the pvp department it not good enough to warrent playing the game for more than a month or 2.

I'd give WAR 6 out of 10 overall I'd say it's a pretty average MMORPG which could have been so much better.
WOW I'd give 8 out of 10 not the best game out there but has enough content to keep you playing for years.
Bro WOW has only got enough content because of all the updates and expansions it has give WAR a little time to fix bugs get updates and some expansions and it will kill WOW!!
Even vanilla wow at the same stage in it's life(8 months) had alot more to do.
And quite franky since I rated my opinion of the game has gone down the drain, i've been testing the 1.3 patch and if even a small part of it goes live the game will become a joke. I'd give it a 4-10 now 2-10 if that patch goes live as it is now.
also id just like to add, this game is still BETA i doubt that many of you played wow on realese, trust me it was shite..
and imo blizz ruined the game after TBC :( im not biased, wow is a really good game. just annoys me that people compare wow and war. war is beta wow is NOT!
they're shortening the amount of servers they have so the action is a LOT more constant. Unless you play really late at night you'll be fine with the PvP

well warhammmer is very cool and has a lot pvp action unstopable iam playing in one of the english servers and i have blackguard 40 level today i reached 40 rank.the bad is indeed the lag from the servers.
there are also some bugs but its the first chronicle they will fix them :D .
Warhammer is one of the best MMORPG I have every played. This game had everything in it to become a great game. Decent PvE. Cool Spell Damage. Awesome PvP. Cool abilities. Moral Points. Fun Quests. 40 maximum ranks. Fairly quick leveling BUT...the almighty BUT. I quit the game. The lag especially in higher levels is terrible. Too bad it was a great game.
I used to play wow, and whereas wow has a pretty good PvE, I think it seriously lacks in PvP along with good character balance. One of the nice things about WAR is it prevents twinks. You can actually level up by doing nothing but PVP. WAR would be a wow killer if they fixed the lag problem, which they probably won't. Mythic is really bad about their patches:-(
My computer is pretty good. If you look online on various different forum's you will notice that alot of people lag. Its not the game it's the game servers. Some computers magically are not effected by the lag problems but alot are.
No I have a good internet connection and a good computer....have you played it? The first 20 levels are pretty good, no lag but after that you run into alot of lag.

Game has such potential but Mythic/EA completely screwed up in it. If its PVP was more like DAOC the game would rock...zones are too small, no open field combat (easier to just run away), PVP is what the game is about, and sadly imo it fails at the higher lvls. Recently quit at T4, just bored out of mind
I played this as soon as it came out (do they still do the system messages about when gooldspammers are caught? That was neat) and for the first month while I was taking a break fromWoW. The fact that it can take a day or so to get through the first few lvls if you quest, but if you go into the BG (er I mean RVR) you can go through the same amount of levels in less than an hour made me think of this is Counterstrike meets WoW. In the end, I decided that if I wanted to play wow Id go back to wow

Yeah, 5 minutes is Ok. This guys said he waited 1 hour though. Anyway, I prefer the marketing model of Guild Wars and the game's pretty much great. They don't take your money away every month and they still make events and create new content frequently.

I'm really tempted to start WAR. I've been playing WoW for around 2 or so years and it keeps getting boring... But I'm not sure if I want to play WAR. From what I hear all that is good about it is the RvR. And most of the servers are empty? Is that even true? Or are there still a few highly populated servers that are like... overflowing with people? It LOOKS fun, but I don't want to waste $50 beforehand and it end up being a nightmare.
The servers that I play on (Ostermark and Phoenix Throne; both RP) tend to have a decent amount of folks on so that there is plenty of RvR, and I have only been queued once ever. Keep sieges are absolutely the coolest thing ever, whether attacking or defending. Siege weapons are fun!
err, anyone help me with a problem? when i try to sign into WAR and download the patch, it says, "authentication failed, please re-enter log in credentials" it did this even when i had a subscription, and i took the game back and swapped it, but it still doesn't work, even on a new computer! anyone know the cause of the problem!?!?!

I just bought this yesterday and regret it big time, already wiped it off my hard drive. I leveled a Archmage from 1-10 and during that time I might have seen a total of 10 other Pc's and thats in a noobie zone mind you, so looks like this is a failure at least in my eyes, Other than that the game suffers from Lag something fierce.I wouldnt reccomend this to anyone,save your time and money. Warhammers been around since before some of the boys at blizzard where fucking BORN. yes you could say its build upa bit of lore ;)
In fact a major part of the game is the book where all your quests, titles, achievemnts and lore are all stored in. every time you explore a new area, or talk to a new person, you get a little xp for your discovery and a story or two for your Lore book!

I've done like 10 keep raids and I'm not bored...Hell of a lot better than WoW pvp that's for sure. Also the game hasn't been out long enough for the large scale rvr to start taking place.
You lagg in Rvr becouse you'r party members buffs reset each 0.5 sec and that a lot of spikes... :) anway there is a Addon called DieBuffDie it's removes the buff icons and no more lagg
i play wow and i wanted to try another game to play also, and yeah this one sucked to me.

There are two ranks. Regular rank and Renown Rank. Regular rank goes up to 40. Renown rank goes up to 80.

Warhammer is one of the best MMORPG I have every played. This game had everything in it to become a great game. Decent PvE. Cool Spell Damage. Awesome PvP. Cool abilities. Moral Points. Fun Quests. 40 maximum ranks. Fairly quick leveling BUT...the almighty BUT. I quit the game. The lag especially in higher levels is terrible. Too bad it was a great game.

I used to play wow, and whereas wow has a pretty good PvE, I think it seriously lacks in PvP along with good character balance. One of the nice things about WAR is it prevents twinks. You can actually level up by doing nothing but PVP. WAR would be a wow killer if they fixed the lag problem, which they probably won't. Mythic is really bad about their patches:-(

My computer is pretty good. If you look online on various different forum's you will notice that alot of people lag. Its not the game it's the game servers. Some computers magically are not effected by the lag problems but alot are.

No I have a good internet connection and a good computer....have you played it? The first 20 levels are pretty good, no lag but after that you run into alot of lag.

Game has such potential but Mythic/EA completely screwed up in it. If its PVP was more like DAOC the game would rock...zones are too small, no open field combat (easier to just run away), PVP is what the game is about, and sadly imo it fails at the higher lvls. Recently quit at T4, just bored out of mind

I played this as soon as it came out (do they still do the system messages about when gooldspammers are caught? That was neat) and for the first month while I was taking a break fromWoW. The fact that it can take a day or so to get through the first few lvls if you quest, but if you go into the BG (er I mean RVR) you can go through the same amount of levels in less than an hour made me think of this is Counterstrike meets WoW. In the end, I decided that if I wanted to play wow Id go back to wow

i like wow...i think that warhammer is a bit odd...the way you move...and the combat...idk...and wow's doom defenetly didnt started with BC cause there are over 11 milion people playing wow this gota mean something...i dont think warhammer even got close to half of this number...sry in my opinion wow rocks :) and no 1 hour queue for entering server :)

Yeah, 5 minutes is Ok. This guys said he waited 1 hour though. Anyway, I prefer the marketing model of Guild Wars and the game's pretty much great. They don't take your money away every month and they still make events and create new content frequently.

I'm really tempted to start WAR. I've been playing WoW for around 2 or so years and it keeps getting boring... But I'm not sure if I want to play WAR. From what I hear all that is good about it is the RvR. And most of the servers are empty? Is that even true? Or are there still a few highly populated servers that are like... overflowing with people? It LOOKS fun, but I don't want to waste $50 beforehand and it end up being a nightmare.

The servers that I play on (Ostermark and Phoenix Throne; both RP) tend to have a decent amount of folks on so that there is plenty of RvR, and I have only been queued once ever. Keep sieges are absolutely the coolest thing ever, whether attacking or defending. Siege weapons are fun!

err, anyone help me with a problem? when i try to sign into WAR and download the patch, it says, "authentication failed, please re-enter log in credentials" it did this even when i had a subscription, and i took the game back and swapped it, but it still doesn't work, even on a new computer! anyone know the cause of the problem!?!?!

lol loads of people quitted wow again like a week or two after the exspansion came out. They started playing realised that there wasnt much in the exspansion and quit after reaching lv80.

Yeah, but once that "way more content" runs dry, you're sitting in Dalaran waiting for the new patch. Then you can complete THAT once it comes out. Rinse, repeat, new expansion, give them more money. It's ridiculous.

I just bought this yesterday and regret it big time, already wiped it off my hard drive. I leveled a Archmage from 1-10 and during that time I might have seen a total of 10 other Pc's and thats in a noobie zone mind you, so looks like this is a failure at least in my eyes, Other than that the game suffers from Lag something fierce.I wouldnt reccomend this to anyone,save your time and money. And I really cant believe people are gonna dick ride this garbage.Fuck WAR and Fuck WOW go play football.

Guys, just stop walking about war x wow already, damn, it doesn't matter if the interface looks like wow's, or war's graphics are better than wow's. They're two different games, based in different beliefs, they both have their differences and their alikes, so how about just playing the game that you likes more? You don't need to spend your life trying to ' convert ' people for your game, that's just sad.

I'm a warrior on WoW for the challenge. hard as hell to close in on magic users and typically slower levellign characters. i want to play warhammer pre bad. i just dont trust this shitbox i call a computer. ima wait till i get a new one

Warhammers been around since before some of the boys at blizzard where fucking BORN. yes you could say its build upa bit of lore ;)
In fact a major part of the game is the book where all your quests, titles, achievemnts and lore are all stored in. every time you explore a new area, or talk to a new person, you get a little xp for your discovery and a story or two for your Lore book!

ok u must have a very bad computer and if u find pve boring then go on a server that has alot of people pvp is not only thing u do there r dungeons in the game more coming out all the time i been playin war for 4 days now it's nice just get a new computer one that can play the new games i got this computer cause my other 1 was so bad and now all games i get work perfectly:)

I've done like 10 keep raids and I'm not bored...Hell of a lot better than WoW pvp that's for sure. Also the game hasn't been out long enough for the large scale rvr to start taking place.

You lagg in Rvr becouse you'r party members buffs reset each 0.5 sec and that a lot of spikes... :) anway there is a Addon called DieBuffDie it's removes the buff icons and no more lagg
