I can't stand when people shove a midi through this dreadful program and put it on YouTube. It sounds dull and boring. But I hate it even more when people say it's 8-bit. C'mon man, does this really sound like 8-bit to you? RARELY I hear GSXCC versions that aren't THAT BAD, but listen to other stuff from the NES, it pops out at you, it's got feeling, But GSXCC is lazy. It sounds dull and lifeless.
Sorry I went all Fanboy on you, but this isn't 8-bit in it's core, i'm telling you.
@Saber698 At least you expressed your points without being an ass, and they're completely valid actually!, yes this is not true 8-bit, but I had forgotten to write that in the title, and since it was long ago and just one person actually complained, I'll change it in a bit.
@8monoxxx Well at least you know what it is, I really am not fond of the GSXCC format, but if you KNOW what it is, then go ahead, if you want to, that's fine. I just dislike it when people think it's 8-bit. Hell, some people decide it's 16-bit, based on the number of instruments it uses. I'm not gonna say I like this a whole lot, but hey. some people do, and as long as you know what it is, That's fine. I have heard GSXCC versions that are kinda good, this one's alright too. :)
@Saber698 I know, I knowww, I think you've left that clear by now lolol, I'm not fond of it either, it's hard to find something that sounds right through the GSCX
@8monoxxx I'm sure it is, when you do find songs that works with it is alright. This one works a bit. Others...*soul ablaze*...SNOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRE. :P
@Saber698 If you want to make better use of midis, try the MIDI to FM converter player, makes them sound VERY nice, tried it with the Runescape soundtrack that is comprised entirely of MIDI, and it sounded glorious.
Actually , all I did was put the .midi file in the program and it automatically converts it to 8-bit sounds, but its not the same number of channels so its beyond the capability of the NES, you would need 2 RICOH's to actually make it work
To me, personally, it seemed that after I played X4, Capcom threw this game out in the last minute just maybe to gain profit for adding another sequel to the series. I mean, the cutscenes seemed like the creators did a lazy job on them.
I hate to admit it, but I agree with LocustPlumber. It would have been a LOT better if the had animated the cut scenes (since it was -supposed- to be the last game, they -should- have), had properly translated english dubs, and didn't interrupt you ever 30 seconds in each stage to tell you beginners level knowledge stuff. Also, the Sigma stages with the giant circular enemies with 4 green spheres to destroy? Got old, -fast-
U guys need to stop acting so childish about a song !

This song proves that megaman x5 would do great as a 8 bit game :)

Since, you are creatively to do 8-bit and you definitely deserved to work at Capcom.

I remember this was my my favourite stage. The rest of the game was pure shit. btw, it sounds nothing like reisen's theme except for maybe at 0:31.

Although many people may disagree. I agree with you. Megaman X5 was a mediocre one compared to the others ones like X4, but this song is amazing!
Deimosxsz 3 years ago
I mean, I do agree that X1-X4 are better than X5, But I wouldn't call it shit. And, I prefer the 1st sigma stage than the 2nd.

Now actually thinking of it that way, I used to figure they didn't wanna screw up the graphics ('till I saw X7). I see what'ya mean though.
sotalitefella 3 years ago
yes. i think the same. You can't do that with a Megaman X series. Its an insult. or you do a good game or you just dont do anything.

MMX4 came out in 1997. MMX5 came out in 2000. Capcom had three whole years, and still couldn't put together a worthy sequel.

that sounds cool! you should do more of those from x4 x5 and so on
Metalltool 3 years ago
Unfortunately, there are few songs that sound well on 8-bit, and it also depends on the composition of the midi, some are bad some are good
8monoxxx 3 years ago
You're right I figured that out a few minutes ago with a midi to 8bit converter, half of the conversions suck.
but the intro of this one really sounds like it could have been a nes megaman title.
I found a good midi of 'Lumine Final Battle' from x8 and it sounds cool in 8bit
Metalltool 3 years ago
Lumine always sounds cool :P
