@tackyouter And all us real motorcyle riders can tell by the horizontal rear shock that only Kawasaki is using on their latest models. But you were more concerned with having a nit pick, you and 6 other blind mice.
On the 20hp US 'restriction' - I understand they had to work quite hard to meet the California EPA standard, and the loss of 20 hp stems from that. The people who tell me this, also tell me the bmw s1000 does NOT meet the standard, (by a fairly small margin on the emissions and quite a big margin on the noise side) so how they got it approved is a good question.
It seems the problem has to do with valve springs. Seems they've been onto it for some time and thought they'd fixed it, but some of the old batch got mixed up with the new batch, and there's no visible difference between the two, and then bikes on dynos started getting valve float. So, they don't know which bikes went out with the dud ones, and there's no simple way to check.
Great vids garth285. I was wondering; are the magnesium wheels lighter than stock and did Kawasaki say what was wrong with the engine or the reason for the recall? The dealers in my area never even received any and I want one!!!
@tatiminy yes the magnesium wheels are lighter than stock, if you own a zx10r do not waste your time on aluminum wheels, there isn't to much of a difference, the magnesium's shave about 7 lbs off the wheels.
Kawi hasn't officially released whats wrong with the bike but it is a engine problem with the cylinder's they just are not specifying weather its a piston, ring, or cylinder
@danwhite50 because the bike is on a rear stand and the clutch and transmission parts are still turning slightly the slight drag on clutch plates will make the rear wheel turn slightly, pretty normal.
I'd like to see this car run Apache.

Garth, she is a beauty! Two questions: Do you still have th O2 sensor w/ that exhaust and did you get your bike corrected from the recall?
04vfr1ndone 1 year ago
@04vfr1ndone The US version does not have o2 sensors on the bike, this exhaust does come with the bung welded on the pipe for a o2 sensor though.
