If you put 31-34 million poeple in the new healthcare system who is going to take care of them? It already seems to me that we have a shortage of doctors in huge areas of the U.S.!!! How long will it take to be seen by a specialist if needed? Why are we going to have to pay for it now and not get anything in return for it for 4 years? It doesn't make alot of sense to me that this will work.

I'd take a tax increase and have Universal healthcare coverage vs being told what I can have medically done(even if what I need to have done is mandatory) by a big business corporation such as Etna. Not too mention a tax increase sounds much more appealing than haveing to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket up front if I have to go to the emergency room.

On page 425 of the proposed bill, it says that everyone on social security (will include all senior citizens & SSI people) will go to MANDATORY counseling every 5 yrs to learn & to choose from ways to end your suffering (and your life). Yes, they are going to push SUICIDE to cut Medicare spending! Health care will be denied based on age. $500 bil will be cut from seniors healthcare. The only way for that to happen is to drastically cut health care, the oldest and sickest will be cut first.

No one wants to take away choice, all they want to do is add the choice of a public option. Some people, i.e. a third of the country, can't afford healthcare, and some people, i.e. the other two thirds, are getting charged twice what they should for half the coverage. Maybe if they finally have to compete with someone who does not make a profit from denying coverage and raising prices, they will finally get their act together. Until then, a public option is our best bet.

Well, I live in Canada and I wouldn't trade our healthcare system for the States's in a million years. Our system isn't perfect, but it gives treatment to everybody without discrimination, the rich can still get treated in private clinics or abroad if they want to and nobody has to chose between getting a liver transplant and bankruptcy because they can't afford health insurance.

I have an idea.. Since we will be allowed to choose then why don't all of you who are against it choose a different form of health insurance. That way it will cost less and your own lives will not change at all. It's not as though the recipient of the public plan will not be paying a premium. It will just be more affordable. As it is we pay 100% of the bill most of the time for uninsured people who end up in the ER. A reg Dr.s visit would be much less expensive.

That's why the numbers of uninsured have been climbing and continue to climb with rising health costs, why the U.S. spends so mush of its GDP on health care especially compared to countries with "socialized" medicine, why we consistently report national health indicators below those of these same countries, and have medicare and medicaid programs growing harder to sustain entirely because of rising costs. Definitely "manufactured."

Single payer, rationed, poorly managed health care is the inevitable end to government getting into Health care. It will follow the same politicized path as Social Security where you get a return of 1% on your investment, you lose it all if you die and black Americans get a negative return on their investment. Health care will be managed like our borders -- by political maneuvering for votes or money.
Universal health care without government should be the goal.
You might say it isn't rationed but at 2.2 doctors per 1000, Canada is low on European Standards. UK is 2.4 and US is 2.4. France and Germany are 3.4. Greece is 4.9. Why do elective things in Canada take so long?

Recission is when after someone needs medical care, the insurance company will try to find something in their application that will give them an excuse to cancel the insurance.

I'd take a tax increase and have Universal healthcare coverage vs being told what I can have medically done(even if what I need to have done is mandatory) by a big business corporation such as Etna. Not too mention a tax increase sounds much more appealing than haveing to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket up front if I have to go to the emergency room.

On page 425 of the proposed bill, it says that everyone on social security (will include all senior citizens & SSI people) will go to MANDATORY counseling every 5 yrs to learn & to choose from ways to end your suffering (and your life). Yes, they are going to push SUICIDE to cut Medicare spending! Health care will be denied based on age. $500 bil will be cut from seniors healthcare. The only way for that to happen is to drastically cut health care, the oldest and sickest will be cut first.

No one wants to take away choice, all they want to do is add the choice of a public option. Some people, i.e. a third of the country, can't afford healthcare, and some people, i.e. the other two thirds, are getting charged twice what they should for half the coverage. Maybe if they finally have to compete with someone who does not make a profit from denying coverage and raising prices, they will finally get their act together. Until then, a public option is our best bet.

Well, I live in Canada and I wouldn't trade our healthcare system for the States's in a million years. Our system isn't perfect, but it gives treatment to everybody without discrimination, the rich can still get treated in private clinics or abroad if they want to and nobody has to chose between getting a liver transplant and bankruptcy because they can't afford health insurance.

I hear the US conservative medias trashing Canada all the time, because we have healthcare, social services and we're a peaceful country, giving us names like the gay brother and now socialists. But the reality is we generally have less inequity, life is cheaper and we have more (free) services. Our laws might be a drag sometimes but even though our main business partner are the US, those same laws protect us and we are almost out of the financial crisis today!

There are hundreds of verses in the old testament that predict things in the new testament hundreds of years before they were written. Also it says the generation that sees Israel become a nation will see the end. Guess what happend in the 70s? Israel became a nation. The maximum life of a man after Moses is 120 years, therefore some time between now and 2090 the world will end. No foresight? I think not.

Murder, in my mind, is the taking of a life under *any* other circumstances.

killing and murdering are two different things, it says to not murder, but it doesn't say to not kill. taking another man's life through war, or in self defense or by accident ( real accident, like accidentally tripping and knocking a guy off a huge cliff type thing) is not murder, but to do something such as breaking into a house and murdering a family is of course murder. Death penalty isn't murder, it is the punishment for those who deserve it.

God didn't make the earth and us, so he could be praised, Angels do that, but the bible teaches that praise should (and usually is) the natural reaction from us before our God. To praise God is something we should do because of what he has done. Also God doesn't say follow me or I will torture you for all eternity, he gives us a chance to live with him or to with without him, Hell is a place where those who don't want to live with him go, they get their wish, although it isn't a pleasant place.

In Psalms 139:13 the authors writes that God formed him in his mother's womb (NIV, the KJ versions uses words basically saying the same thing, just more difficult to understand).
With a bit of thinking you can understand that if God formed you in your mother's womb, it would be bad for you to be killed there. Taking understanding from Jeremiah 29:11 God has plans for you and they start in the womb, for it to end in the womb, would be a sin (which is a thought, action or word that breaks the law)

I have an idea.. Since we will be allowed to choose then why don't all of you who are against it choose a different form of health insurance. That way it will cost less and your own lives will not change at all. It's not as though the recipient of the public plan will not be paying a premium. It will just be more affordable. As it is we pay 100% of the bill most of the time for uninsured people who end up in the ER. A reg Dr.s visit would be much less expensive.

Yeah Rush, the health care crisis has been "manufactured." That's why the numbers of uninsured have been climbing and continue to climb with rising health costs, why the U.S. spends so mush of its GDP on health care especially compared to countries with "socialized" medicine, why we consistently report national health indicators below those of these same countries, and have medicare and medicaid programs growing harder to sustain entirely because of rising costs. Definitely "manufactured."

I live in Canada and theres no fucking health care crisis. Evryone pays a small amount and the entire country and anyone who gets sick gets better, flat out. I would happily pay double what I do now to ensure everyone is healed when sick. Noones denied healthcare here. Rush is a moron.

Single payer, rationed, poorly managed health care is the inevitable end to government getting into Health care. It will follow the same politicized path as Social Security where you get a return of 1% on your investment, you lose it all if you die and black Americans get a negative return on their investment. Health care will be managed like our borders -- by political maneuvering for votes or money.

You might say it isn't rationed but at 2.2 doctors per 1000, Canada is low on European Standards. UK is 2.4 and US is 2.4. France and Germany are 3.4. Greece is 4.9. Why do elective things in Canada take so long?

So I don'tthink nationalized health care is the issue when it comes to low numbers of doctors.
As for electives, I would guess money is a factor.

The heads of the top Medical Insurers were at congress yesterday and they were asked if they would consider stopping RECISSION and they all said no.
Recission is when after someone needs medical care, the insurance company will try to find something in their application that will give them an excuse to cancel the insurance.
No crisis... as long as the insurance companies are "for profit" we will be in a health crisis. What if the fire dept or police dept cared about profit margins?
