download malware bytes install and update, run in safe mode with networking, run full scan. Voila a clean pc

@Xxmike96slimxX install comodo firewall that comes with defence+. Open it go to defence+ and than click view active procceses find antivirus 2010 right click and select terminate and block. and that is that easy.

Thanks for the advice. Another concern: Do you also know how to use programs like CCleaner? I'd like to speed up my laptop by closing background programs I don't use during start up or pretty much ever. Thing is, I'm not familiar with this sort of thing and I don't want to screw up my new laptop.

i'd recommand iobit 360, pctools and avg. spyware doctor does not clean the pc completely and avira always giving false alert and impossible to remove. avast is resource hog and norton is full of shit by poping up scan page. spybot is weak and useless. bitdefender, pc-cillin, mcfee and kaspersky are same shit

I have a problem with Spyware Doctor With Antivirus. Everytime i find a few things that hint to a virus, and i set up spyware doctor, and when it finds it and says it removed it, THE VIRUS GETS WORSE. Its like it activated the virus or something. I HATE IT!

Matt, how important is it to back up their data before you remove the malware? And how often when removing malware does it crash?

Not extremely, however removing malware can make your PC unbootable (for about 1/200 chance). Even when that happens the data is still available if you were to hook it up as a usb drive (using a usb drive kit)
