i truly wish that everyone would remember that CHILDREN sometimes view things on youtube, as in the muppets which are for children as well as adults and not use profane language or say things that are totally INappropriate for young children..if youre life is so screwed up all you have to live for is typing the things i mentioned, go somewhere else and allow kids to remain kids for the small amount of time they have to be a child and innocent PLEASE
I remember using a {cassette} tape recorder on this episode of the Muppet Show. When I saw the whole video {OK: chunks of it put together} on YT, I was wondering why it was so familiar. *<|:-DX
loli always wondered what steve martin looked like before his beautiful white hair...now i know! haha he looks great both ways. oh, and hes a boss on the banjo!
@stratocruising basically all muppets are left-handed. that's because the puppeteer uses the right hand to operate the mouth of the puppet and the left to hold the arm rod.
Steve is amazing, and I think everyone should seriously give his The Crow album and his new one, Rare Bird Alert, a listen. In this video though, he's not playing his old 1927 Gibson Florentine archtop.
The muppets are are left-handed because the puppeteer is right-handed. (The puppeteer puts the dominant hand inside the puppet to operate the body and move the mouth, leaving the other hand to move the stick manipulating the hand.)
this is some nice dang playing for the muppets i thought it would be a funny joke!!! other than that the yeehawww sounds like dukes of hazard!!! i love that show. great video man.
I am grateful that I am young enough, but still OLD enough to have seen this show when it was on TV! :-) The clip brought back SOOOO many good memories! Watching the Muppet Show with my ENTIRE family! :-) :-) Those are the days you cherish forever!!! :-) Not to mention, they had GREAT guests!! LOL
i was on a plane many years ago when i was in the military and met Steve. he put an arrow through his head as a joke. Steve if you remember this call me 636-466-3615.
@getplaning I totally agree that Steve Martin is talented. Funny to read in his book "Born Standing Up" that he didn't think he was talented at all, and had to work really hard to make it 'look like' he was. I think he's a really talented musician and meticulously prepared performer/master of timing!! I grew up listening to Let's Get Small over and over!!
I love this little piece of music. <3 I could watch that scene in Deliverance over and over again, but it's especially fun to watch other musicians play it in their own unique ways. Even Muppets. XD
@JohnSilverfan01 Well really that is not quite true! i found out that the puppeteer faces the muppet and since tthe puppeteer is right handed it make the muppet left handed! Google it to see for yourself!
I heard Steve Martin not too long ago on NPR. I believe he recently put out an album of American banjo music. Some of what I heard during the NPR interview was pretty amazing stuff.
from what I understand steve martin really plays the banjo. I guess he has a bunch of banjos sitting out at his house and drive his guest almost nuts by playing it for them every chance he gets. I frinking love steve martin.
Steve Martin is a Grammy award winner for playing the banjo, he is far more than just a common player. He is currently out on tour playing across the US
I love the Dueling Banjos, the original version, this one is good too
