When I first saw this I was just baffled that the kids actually attacked an adult. I mean if they were giving him a beating at school and the teacher stopped them they wouldn't dare attack her and theyre all so scared of Master Li. But for some reason because the plot requires them to they attack the maintenance man like he's just another kid. Realistically as soon as he showed up most bullies would just leave or maybe shout verbal abuse and go...

That's what puts this one a step above most other remakes--too many remakes take too many liberties from the original to even justify bearing the same name as the original. The Karate Kid at least followed the same story, plot points, and pacing as the orginal.
