@ambiguousheather No, see, he published it, and it was made into a graphic web series by Marvel. Pretty much the same way a book is adapted into a movie.
Just letting everyone know that I am first time published author. My Book Rasciss tells the story of Hollowawk a man who literally defied death and now must face the wrath of petty gods. Come onto my channel and check out the promo video I made for Rasciss. Leave a comment and if u like what u see than please pick yourself up a copy and let me know what u thought about it.
It's an amazing piece of writing that stands out on it's own but it contains so many similarities to other pieces of work. The Great God Pan is referenced in the collection, as well as Dracula, as inspirations. However I think that LOST is a pretty big influence as well. There are just too many parallels for me to think it is coincidence. I've discussed this more on The Fuselage.
This story DOES actually tie in to the whole Dark Tower story. It has a few 19 references, at least in the book version, and the circle of stones, where it seems as if he could "punch out right through reality" seems almost exactly the same as the description of a thinny. Just to point out two connections. I'm sure if I went back and looked I could find a few more.
It's one of his few works that doesn't directly tie in to his DT macroverse. It's a stand-alone story, made as a homage to the book "The Great God Pan" by Arthur Machen.
"Rattles me"? In my opinion, you are feeling a sense of freedom when you degrade yourself to the lowest demeanor.
Why am I pleasure to you? Do you find my writing attractive that you want to keep on insulting me? Please go find some other morons to pick that are in your own intellect-wise since from what I remember, only college and five year old's swear.
What's with this "delicate little flower" business? Are you gay? On my account I'm a GUY.
this conversation was interesting until this post, what five year olds have you been around?? Clearly none! You are an idiot. If you honestly think that only college students and five year olds curse, you must be a recluse, as well as clearly a homophobe!
I'm a college student but some are just plain stupid, and I emphasize that I just typed"some".
I'm not homophobic, or not as much as a homonym! Please understand, he implies that I'm a "delicate little flower" meaning that he must find me that I'm homosexual. So, it's just a sense of misunderstanding.
Yes, I am a recluse, but that is due to me finding half of the human race idiotic, which means I like to believe that there's still intelligent life(human) out there.
Would you like to know that I actually like Stephen kings work including the film version of the Dark Half and his historical work, Danse Macabre. So, please, I'm arguing with a pig or as Mark Twain said "I'm teaching a pig to sing, if you try to teach the pig, you annoy the pig".
Why are you still arguing with me, if I'm a Christian flower then I must be pretty Loud for a flower!
I'm not some Twilight fangirl who oogles over vampiric idoltry that doesn't even compare to Ann Rice(or Ann Rice Krispies for the natural supplement for any bloodsucker; just add O negative blood and watch your cereal turn red!).
I'm tired of that delicate little flower. Who are you talking about?! I'm a human being with a opinion. "TraitorsPost", you lost the battle when you started calling ME names!
Really, Stephen King doesn't even care what I type, so why are you doing this?
Sorry for the hypocritical stance I'm going to make, but what do jackanapes do when they don't have their occupation at the moment, they pick on people?!
Truely sir, you must take me for a idiot. For that, I applaud you.
I remember seeing this in my Borders Rewards email letter. Then I read the book afterward, would have like it if King would use the profanity less like this adaptation.
It's east man! You can use Pinnacle Studio -> video effects -> zoom and rotations and move picture in a particular place (right or left) and that's it :)
@ChasenBrandstone Have you ever read "The Great God Pan"? I have once, but I'm still trying to understand how incidents revolving around Pan is so scary. I'll continue in a message.
@montresor50 Actually, both Arthur Machen's "The Great God Pan" and Lovecraft's "Call of Cthulu" were sources of inspiration for Stephen King's "N.". There are many references in the story, for instance, the name of one of the evil gods behind the 8(7) stones is CTHUN, which is a variation of Cthulu.
in spanish too, plis :( (yn)

does this short story tie in with any other Stephen King book or is this a "stand alone" type story, if that makes any sense :P

Hey, I find that profanity degrades a person, it degrades comedy just like sexual tension and humor.
If I'm a flower, I would be a yellow Chrysanthemum, since that flower represents death.
Sorry if I'm a stuck-up prude, but that's the way I am. What did I do to get you stuck up in your intestines, nasal, or ribcage?

"Burn this".. Reminds me of HP Lovecraft's "Call of Cthulu"
montresor50 3 years ago 2
Thats because both this story, and Lovecrafts work were based on the same story called The Great God Pan.
