The system is definitely no perfect. I do believe that there should be reform, but there are in fact many legitimate claims of child in Texas. I've seen children who have been isolated from the public all their lives without leaving their home because of crazy parents. I just wish there were better parents who could properly raise their children, and I wish there were a better system to address these issues.
Custody is suppose to take possession only if they cannot find any responsible family member in a legit case of needing ocs care. I have a grand nephew whom I was available for him half hr after taken from the mother, and was taken into foster care for 2 mts. before I got him and have not applied for foster care payments. I remember them taking my 4 week baby out of my arms when I was at the hospital, telling me I couldn't see him again, and taking him off of strictly breastfeeding to a bottle. I've dealt with CPS here in Texas. They take a very "guilty until proven innocent" approach to accusations. We spent 6 months with random home inspections, questioning, and "this should be the last visit, but I need to clear it with my supervisor." There's nothing quite like living on eggshells, just waiting for the next hoop CPS wants you to jump through to prove you're innocent.

when CPS takes a child and states they will have a court hearing to make a determination if parental rights should be in place or taken away, ASK WHEN, WHAT TIME, WHAT COURT ROOM AND WHO THE PRESIDING JUDGE WILL BE! if the parents do not show up for that court date, the ruling will be in the favor of the state and not the parents! Most know this by now and I have observed in court where the doo-dah judges ask, Is the child in imminent danger? doo-dah workers state, "Yes" and warrant is given. Imminent and Exigent are specific in Black's Law Dictionary.

The system is definitely no perfect. I do believe that there should be reform, but there are in fact many legitimate claims of child in Texas. I've seen children who have been isolated from the public all their lives without leaving their home because of crazy parents. I just wish there were better parents who could properly raise their children, and I wish there were a better system to address these issues.

Custody is suppose to take possession only if they cannot find any responsible family member in a legit case of needing ocs care. I have a grand nephew whom I was available for him half hr after taken from the mother, and was taken into foster care for 2 mts. before I got him and have not applied for foster care payments. Yet for 7 mts. that I have him, ocs is taking money in for his care and not a cent have come to me. They now tell me he may come up 4 adoption here soon . Ran out of rm.

I remember them taking my 4 week baby out of my arms when I was at the hospital, telling me I couldn't see him again, and taking him off of strictly breastfeeding to a bottle. I can remember the pain I went through and this just brings the feeling back. I feel for this woman :( .......I got my son back though when he was 6 months old. He didn't know me and I had a lot of crying to go through, now he's a happy, healthy 5 year old. And sometimes when I look at him I cry. He's my world!!!!!

I've dealt with CPS here in Texas. They take a very "guilty until proven innocent" approach to accusations. We spent 6 months with random home inspections, questioning, and "this should be the last visit, but I need to clear it with my supervisor." There's nothing quite like living on eggshells, just waiting for the next hoop CPS wants you to jump through to prove you're innocent.
My husband spent time in a group home as a child, and the abuses he suffered there he wouldn't wish on anyone.

when CPS takes a child and states they will have a court hearing to make a determination if parental rights should be in place or taken away, ASK WHEN, WHAT TIME, WHAT COURT ROOM AND WHO THE PRESIDING JUDGE WILL BE! if the parents do not show up for that court date, the ruling will be in the favor of the state and not the parents! This is how it works in South Dakota. I am going through the same thing - I have a lawyer and in the process of getting a tribal advocate from my tribe.

In 1992 the Same basic thing happened to me. Accused of Molestation, and told if I did not Pled Guilty they would take my children and I would never get them back.

They want a beautiful healthy white baby to sell for adoption, period. This family was targeted for exploitation. This is another outrage of millions. America isn't a democracy. It's Animal Farm and the pigs are in control. There's no due process for poor parents. The Department of Justice has known for decades that the rights of young, single and poor parents are trammelled in adoptions but does nothing. I have a DOJ memo that proves they know what's going on.

@ticks4ticks4 I think most social workers start out with good intentions. Recently I heard on the radio that the average annual turnover rate of CPS workers is 51% - so I guess there are in fact a lot of decent people who cannot do this job and sleep at night, despite job security.

Man this is horrible. I'm in Australia but even I'm aware of Texas CPS and CPS all around America kid-nappng babies. Don't do any paper-work, even surveys in the mail that ask questions about your finances, your mental health, or your children. They will use ANYTHING against you to steal your child.

DCFS removed my children (17mos, 3 & 4 y.o. girls) from my home 13 days ago, due to parental neglect... i'm 6 1/2 months pregnant and scared... no warrant, no paperwork... father got temp. custody at detention hearing... worker and supervisor do not return my calls... have monitored visits 2-1hr/wk... no physical abuse on record, says parental neglect... desperate to see & hold girls... *sob*... need certified monitor from dcfs, but no way of contacting dept...tried mngr, not available... lost.

That worker is such a bitch. She wants to take the baby because the family is poor and struggling. Their not helping her by taking her baby. Their not helping the baby. Why not help the family find housing and support the mother and monitor her.
CPS are demons. Most of them have dirty backgrounds and they don't always care for their own children, they are too busy tearing apart other families.

@nadeseh I am not certain of Shirley's previous residency but she had a lot of teeth pulled, she laid down, went to sleep, and didn't wake up. The same lady who helped Shirley in this video, the person in the background & not seen when the media shot vid in Shirley's home, told me that Shirley passed away on her sofa. There is no reason to disbelieve and I do not know her full name, or history.
My bro died 03-2010 and his name was never in an obit. Vital Stats do not require his real name!

If a worker removes a child without a warrant, minus exigent circumstances or imminent danger, the worker loses immunity.
Most know this by now and I have observed in court where the doo-dah judges ask, Is the child in imminent danger? doo-dah workers state, "Yes" and warrant is given. Imminent and Exigent are specific in Black's Law Dictionary.

Shorty is a sawed-off, double-barrel shotgun.
Staring down the barrel of Shorty made CPS leave and never return in the late 60's. I would not recommend that action, but fully understand when families take a stand for their children!
