This album is truly a hidden gem of the 2nd wave era (the only era for many of us). Kvist, along with Ulver, Immortal and alike, really shows how little importance the satanic influence had for the core of the movement, namely the music. The general consept of this album is really imaginative and simply beautiful!
As it states itself: "For kunsten maa vi evig vike"
BTW: their demo is by all means also worth checking out! Some of the same tracks, but with a more low end soundscape and abit different in expression and composition. Worth the effort if you know a way to get a hold of it!
I definitely concur. It's even greater than the album in my opinion, once you get used to the constant layer of fuss that is. Really atmospheric.
Its version of Vettenetter is actually quite a bit more sophisticated and rich in detail than this re-recording, and has a sweet ambient outro as well instead of just grinding the album to a halt.
Totally sucks that I recently let an original copy slip from my grasp. Some of those eBay fuckers just seem to have a bottomless wallet. :(
how much did they buy it for? in a way im happy that bm is selling as a collector item. back in the day you would buy it really cheap. my fav moment was when amon amarth sent me a letter to thank me for buying their demo. very cool guys
