I've only seen his stand-up stuff once, and wasn't all that impressed, but he never fails to make me laugh (sometimes to the point of almost wetting myself!) on QI.

zeldakitteh, it simply means being able to see what someone is like without having to know them, for example, if you paid too much for something, the expression would be "they saw you coming", they could tell you were a bit gullible just by looking at you. Hope that helps
