Hideously poor compared to the Suzuki, the Suzi was driven well, but putting VS in the title is a joke, the F40 driven to anywhere near the standard of "good" would have resulting in the first few bends including a view of the F40 and that would be it. I agree the F40 is going fast, but on the scale of IT'S capabilitys, no it's not it's going slow actually.

My main car the for past 3 years has been a standard Mk5 Golf Diesel with 140bhp, in those 3 years I've owned loads of 2nd cars, the latest with 380bhp and if I was wanting to go anywhere in a hurry or race someone, I'd take the Golf everytime... far easy to drive a FWD low powered car at 99% than a high powered mid-engined RWD car (esp turbo charged within an inch of it's life like the F40) at 80%!

I suppose that's because, unlike the F40, the Swift can brake to still in few meters and it can accelerate at full throttle without spinning into a tree. The Ferrari is therefore driven rather cautiously

The owner is a good friend of mine and he doesn't mind pushing it at all actually. It's just that this lap was his very first out of the day so it was an exploratory lap to check conditions (and he wasn't feeling 100%). He's a veteran 'ring racer with many 24 hour events under his belt. For this video there's only one car 'racing' to keep up with this F40 casual lap - the swift!

Actually if your on a closed circuit such as the one they were driving on, its considered proper to yield to the quicker vehicles. So really the guy on the bike should have let them pass. Raven1xm - never read so much trash in my whole life. The F40 at Suzuka, is faster than most other modern Ferraris and that is a fast flowing circuit like this. Believe me, an old mid-engined car with quite a short wheelbase is very hard to drive at the limit on a track like this with a driver with minimal race experience. Give that Ferrari to someone with experience at the ring and the car would be out of sight.

The most frustrating thing about owning a sports car or bike is when you're just cautiously enjoying your drive and somebody in a suzuki swift risks your life proving they can go fast too. I suppose that's because, unlike the F40, the Swift can brake to still in few meters and it can accelerate at full throttle without spinning into a tree. The Ferrari is therefore driven rather cautiously

The owner is a good friend of mine and he doesn't mind pushing it at all actually. It's just that this lap was his very first out of the day so it was an exploratory lap to check conditions (and he wasn't feeling 100%). He's a veteran 'ring racer with many 24 hour events under his belt. For this video there's only one car 'racing' to keep up with this F40 casual lap - the swift!

Actually if your on a closed circuit such as the one they were driving on, its considered proper to yield to the quicker vehicles. So really the guy on the bike should have let them pass. On top of that the SS driver obviously new the track impeccably cause he was nailing all the apexes. The F40 driver obviously didn't.

Raven1xm - never read so much trash in my whole life. The F40 at Suzuka, is faster than most other modern Ferraris and that is a fast flowing circuit like this. Believe me, an old mid-engined car with quite a short wheelbase is very hard to drive at the limit on a track like this with a driver with minimal race experience. Give that Ferrari to someone with experience at the ring and the car would be out of sight.

the ferrari f40 its by 100 kmh still in the secend gear, but at die end of the secend gear the car geht speed up like a drift car. the ferrari f40 feels like a drift car in anny gear. the f40 has olny 5 gears and a fucking bad clutch

looks like the ferrari driver is rather NOOB for the car: he is fast only when horse power counts, on straight. Oh, well, anyway, how much would a crash with an F40 cost, and how much with a Swift? Maybe this explains the caution.

i just think it's fun. of course no way the suzuki could dream of keeping up with the ferrari, but still it's fun. it's 89hp vs 400hp, race car vs street super mini.
but the driver has guts, and the suzuki is really good in corners. anyone who owned or drove a suzuki will know the car has very good engineering.

But this isn't a race - you do realise that surely? It's just a casual drive (for the Ferrari). Just because this little car is trying like hell to keep up does not make it a race! This was the Ferrari's first lap of the day - he went out to have a look, that's all. No racing, just a track inspection. Ignore the fact the little car is 'racing' to try to keep up.

Yes, but not by much. I'd say that the car prob makes more ground on braking than anything else... but if you ever accelerated a race bike you'd know that as soon as the rider twists that throttle his gone.

Cars generate quite a bit more speed through the corners than bikes do.
Yeah.. bikes accelerate well but they can never match cars in handling.
But of course.. leaning with the curve and dragging the pegs is a whole lot more fun ; )

It's not a race track and it's not a race. I'm sure I wouldn't drive anymore than 80% in an F40 on a road which has so many hazards and where people do crash, do get hurt and even killed. I'm would'nt take too many risks just for for utube viewers entertainment. If you want to see faster driving go to Germany and

The Nurburgring IS a semi/racetrack, but I agree, while driving during public sessions you can't drive as fast on it like a full racetrack where it's safer like the GP strecke, but I still think that the Swift driver would be faster than the F40 driver if given equal cars.
