Awesome indeed. It's a refreshing change from the tired old jazz formulas. They ignore at least two jazz clichès here: a) multi-reedist does not stick to one reed (soprano sax) throughout, but adds bass clarinet in certain sections b) this is not mere head-solos-head structure. A lot more twists and turns than usual here. I like the section from 6:00-6:28 interspersed into drum solo. And that bass/clarinet combo from 7:00 - hypnotic! European avant-jazz at its finest.

i love the combination of free jazz and sweaty funk...
the ones who can make it well are rare but LC is definetly among them.
