Actually, I think you started strong with her epic badassery. This video is BUCK like Applejack. This is a pony that gets shit DONE. The zoom-out with her standing atop her name, it gives that larger-than-life feel of the classic wild-west. Expound more upon the concept of physically demanding feats of strength and dexterity. As far as the visual theme, I don't think green is her color, despite her eyes.

I think this misses the point, really. Those apples on her flank aren't _just_ about the literal fruit. This is her family _Name_. Her family values. Really, look at what she does on the show as a supporting character--she's not just honest, she's _quotable too_, if in that down-home way.

Maybe you've got the wrong focus for her? For your previous videos you focus more on how the ponies act and react (play, run, shine), rather than what they do (Learn, which you admitted was probably your worst). Instead of looking at her as a rodeo cowgirl, which is really more of her appearance than her personality, focus on her as a farmer and gardener. More similar to Fluttershy's than Rainbow Dash's, I would think.

Farm/Grow/Garden like Applejack might be better than Buck like Applejack.

@MrShinyObject I indeed do, I feel this particular draft is very bombastic and action packed. Fitting for say Pinkie, Rarity or Rainbow, but AJ is modest, honest, hardworking, down to earth, easygoing, stubborn, competitive and forward but when you need her she's always there.

This video wouldn't have conveyed any of those characteristics, at the least not fully.

So I'm taking a step back to see how I can really nail her character.

@SaberScorpion There isn't really anything wrong with the video itself, besides it all being placeholder. The problem is a bit more abstract: the project as it was lacked a unifying concept tying it all together. It felt incoherent and not really fit for AJ. I'm therefore going back to the drawing board so that I can start production more focused.
