this is more similar to gung fu than any other japanese martial art (in my opinion), because it's so fluid/flowing - you do techniques in one fluid motion rather than step 1, step 2, etc like karate and jujitsu
@joncobber naw more like hapkido. more manipulative of the body specifically the wrist and the arms. it IS more fluid that hapkido because it focuses on less energy output, but naw i say def hapkido.
dude there is some finaly some one who kicks ass and is not interested in just showing off...........thats because you actually showed how to do the hand lock step by step ....and ived seen a lot of vids....... a true sensai or however you might spell it......'thanks..
@bsuite123 its the technique you learn now at the beginning stage and at the intermediate stage, things are less static so you could do this technique if someone throws a punch at you, or thrusts a knife at you. you work the techniques in stages.
dude this stuff actually works i used it today me and my bro were practicing it on each other and by the way doesnt matter for exposed parts cuz ur moving way to fast and unexpected to actually react
Yes, This is the style that Steven Seagal uses. He even teaches it in his dojo in Japan. Or at least he used to, i haven't kept up with it in a few years.
ah yes, and at 0:25 i would SIMPLY be beating the hell out of your ear and kidney with my expose RIGHT hand while moving to your left side where i would still be hitting you in the face... simply.
i used to love tae kwon do but its just for good health and well being. in reality it and these Aikido moves are better than nothing but not AT ALL realistic. learning to hit, kick, and grapple on the ground are all thats going to ever happen, please watch any UFC video. those are intense professionals but its truer.
each has advantages and disadvantages and it depends a lot on who you learn from. My instructor was big on aikido's ability to deal with multiple or armed attackers. Something you can't handle well if you are tangled up in a grapple with one person like i see in a lot of UFC fights. In a ring, i'd be at a disadvantage, but on the streets i've done pretty well thus far.
kick in the nuts or knee takes a lot less practice... actually folks train thai boxing and submission grappling, at least we know these two together work
besides, this is basic technique. Just learning abut the basics of energy. That man is putting forces into the othrs body by pushing his hands, giving him time to leanr abut force. There is infac very little differene between learning how to re-direct this force, and learning how to re-direct the force of a hook or anything else.
aww look there holding hands lol!

By training by using hand grabs, you can prepare yourself for training by using punches. It all comes down to basics. :P

Aikido it seems is basically a form of judo, using an opponents own forces to disable them.

really interesting. isn't this also part of Steven Seagal's arsennal of training?

Sorry I think this one I "heard" from the other vids, is traditional, because Steven Seagal style is Ki Aikido, so it is different styles.

Seagal is Aikikai.

The demonstration has been slowed down so people can learn, the actual application takes less than a second.

a UFC fighter is only fighting one person so he will grapple if he faced more then one person he would change tactics
