These are MH-53D. They were built initially as mine towers for the Navy, hence the MH desgnation. These are hand me downs from the Navy to the Marine Corp. It is not the MH-53D Pavelow. That was flown by the Air Force and had the composite blades of the current CH-53E, but it is the airframe fo the MH-53D with alot of special electronics built-in or added on. the MH designated Super Stallion airframe was re-inforced and had the most powerful engines out all the D-type 53's.
This is a CH-53 which is a Marine version on the 53. You can tell by the sponsens or fuel tanks. They are shaped like a torpedo and can be ejected in an emergency like a quick getaway. Also the color is light gray. Navy paints theirs dark gray. MH-53's has sponsens or fuel tanks that cannot be ejected in an emergency. I worked on MH-53's for 4 years.
@GenerationKill1010 What are you talkin about. Its a CH-53D Pave low. Or a super stallion. If you wanna go that into it, go ahead, but to me, it looks VERY MUCH like the CH-53
What no love for the lse? the 2nd 53 on spot 7 was me.........53's move alot of air and its like standing in a hurrican when there trying to land. The piolets never pay much attention to us any way. Maybe at night if they can't see the deck. haha are you a marine? I was air dept v1 fly 2
You are close on your description, but there is a minor discrepancy. M is for Minesweeping and used only with the Navy - as in MH-53E. These are 2 Marine CH-53D's. The C is for Combat. GO MARINES!

MH-53Ds
I could watch that shit all day.
I guess I did back in the 60's when I was aboard the CVA-31. (the OLD Bon Homme Richard).
But it was A4s, F8s, A1s, A3s, C2As, and S2Fs back then.
I took an 8MM camera up to the 07 level as often as I could...not often because I was V-4 Div and mostly busy 24-7.
I did manage to get several hours of footage and then lost it in a flood....sux.
I would love to see it again.
Oh well...you LHD 6 guys think about us old Bonnie Dick sailors once in a while.

wonder how long this had taken if a woman were to land, cuz They are known as bad drivers behind the wheel ;)

I doubt the h53 can do loops. But if your right its not the only one. That redbull helicopter does them all the time
