American Style Viennese Waltz

Can anybody tell me, Does American Style Viennese Waltz have the same counts as International Viennese Waltz, which is counted 1-2-3? I thought the count remained the same & the only difference, is they can break the closed in hold throughout the dance. I saw a couple doing the dance with a count of 1 a 2 a 3; which is the count for the Latin dance called Samba.

:)) American style, if you wonna go on competitions with this style so you are unregistred or you are class "S" mostly Showdance. Or just dancing for fun. :) I wouldnt do this on the competitons cose you distrupt the main idea of the dance, if you know how to dance it for example in Showdance its perfect but if you dont know as abowe shown dont do this :).

American style Viennese Waltz allows you to break from the closed hold, as opposed to International Standard style, which doesn't.

i am a little confused by the title-- viennese waltz but american style? but beautiful rendition by you and Chris as usual. When are you guys coming to the Northern VA/DC area?
