Every team needs there stay at home defense man and that was daneyko aka mr. Devil. He was a great fighter and anyone that played along side the best NHL captain EVER deserves my respect
I personally don't care about this friendship w/ the owner... anybody who plays 20 years with the same team in modern days, should have his number retired... When hockey is now a money game, players who want to stay with their team all career long deserve this... Kenny was also very devoted to the team and played the best he could all his career
Good guy but let's be honest, he would have never spent his entire career in NJ and had his number retired if he wasn't buddies with the owner. Brodeur will probably be next. But the number that should be up there is #15 in honor of Johnny Mac.
I know the song was the theme from remember the titans when they raised his jersey, but what was the rod stewart song they played when they showed highlights? For stevens it was better days by the goo goo dolls.
I was actually watching this celebration/game on a station out of Boston, because they were playing the Bruins and they carried the speech and the raising of his banner and I remember thinking, damn he played all these years? He started in 1982, so I must've been in kindergarten. I love that music. Is it on YouTube? Good Job Dano!!
