Wow that was my favourite World of Sport tune! Great Saturday memories watching Tiswas or Swap Shop, then World of Sport, Dr Who, Jim'll Fix It, Generation Game, Morecambe & Wise and finally Match of the Day - those were the best days EVER!
The only time this tune was played in full was the end credits to the very last World Of Sport in 1985.It incorporated all the commercial break jingles from the show-football,horse racing, even the strange wrestling one!Have never heard it since.
World of Sport had something for everyone and was must watch tele in the mid 80's. Now what do we have on a Saturday afternoon? Crappy repeats of eastenders or Coronation Street.
Excellent theme tune, back in the days when Saturday afternoon was great for racing fans, switching between World of Sport and Grandstand to catch all the races. Very few people had video recorders, so if you were at work or school Saturday was the only chance to watch it.
