Yes, they might get opportunities to get out, get jobs. But once you live this life it's so difficult to walk away. It's just as addicting as the drugs themselves, if they ever manage to get clean. People don't understand how/why women stay in abusive relationships, why alcoholics fall off the wagon, etc. and they don't understand why the kids go back to the street. Don't be so quick to judge. I joined the military to have stability, but once in a while I still sleep on floors to feel at home.
It sounds like that one guy is just a fucking loser. He could be successful if he wanted but he rather be a fucking begger. You know, I'd rather move out of my folks house but I cant afford rent and college, so I stick it out so I can have what i want later in life.
you see that is a luxury... having the ability to live in you folks house so you can afford college... what if you had no folks, no home, no chance of going to college and you were 10 years old? what would you do then and what kind of a person would you turn out to be?
you don't know the circumstances. kids do not just go and live in the cold and without food when they have good homes. the program said that all were from abusive homes or shelters. I worked with a few kids who also had relatives to live with but they discovered those relatives after years of living on the streets. And that sort of living changes kids - they stop trusting adults and want to rely only on themselves. They've been lied to and betrayed too many times to go through it agian.
This guy, this fucking adult just said he has a home, hes had jobs but he'd rather live on the streets and get drunk. In this circumstance, fuck that guy, hes a loser. For those little kids who really want to be loved and run away from abuse, I feel bad. Poor little kids but fuck that one loser in this video.
that guy was one of those little kids just a few years ago. Imagine you being on the streets when you were little - being all alone, being hungry, hiding from all sort of predators, more importantly being not wanted by anyone - it is a very harsh reality that few can bare.. so they go on drugs to escape it. Once they are hooked, it is very hard to give it up even after they grow up... how messed up that would make a person you cannot even know.. so why judge?
Yeah I fucking know how that feels. My parents left me in california when I was a teenager while they moved to texas and I lived in my car for months but I still went to work and went to school. This guy isn't alone, his grandparents want him to live with them and as an adult no one can abuse him. Your point is lame as hell. This guy just wants to be a fucking loser
I really dont think you understand. We're having a sideways argument. I'm saying the guy in the video is a pathetic shit. Youre saying "poor russian street kids who got abused and have no place to go." Okay, I agree with that but this specific guy who could work, who could live with his non-abusive grandparents, who would rather beg, hes a fucking loser. Do you understand?
so a kid is deserving of compassion but as soon as that same kid turns 16 or 18, that's it, he is a bum? My point is that those teenagers that you see in the film were those homeless kids just a few years back. It is impossible for them to just snap out of it, after years of neglect and abuse. Some manage to go off drugs, find jobs, gratude from universities - i KNOW them. But these are exceptional people. Most don't make it and end up as criminals or junkies.
Like I said before, I'm talking about this specific guy. Do you understand? He has all the tools to become successful but he doesn't want it. Dont pity him. Please dont fucking speak to me about homeless kids in general. I never brought them up. I am talking about this ONE guy. Understand? Please tell me how I can explain it better. No more sideways bullshit.
Let me try again: this ONE guy was this ONE kid just a few years ago. So when he was a kid, he deserved pity. The second he turned old enough to be an adult, just like that he deserves nothing? What "tools" did he acquire in those few years to make him successful? Did he have a chance to go to school? what about his self-esteem? what about drug abuse? sexual abuse? physical?
The tools he got was a job and a safe place to stay with his grandparents but he doesnt want it. He WANTS to shoot up and live on the street. He does not deserve anyone's pity, he only wants enough pity to get someone's spare change.
alright so for years he was going hungry, was beaten up by cops, neglected by passers by, molested, addicted to chemicals and then he is all of a sudden expected to just get a job and go on like it's nothing? People rarely do that in real life.
damn, you are slow. my whole point is that you cannot just look at his decision to quit in isolation. there were circumstances that led to that behavior, circumstances that are beyond his control - circustmances that most would find themselves in in his place. You dont go throw life as a responsible adult after being abused all of your childhood - that is not what usually happens.
You know what, I'm not going to argue anymore. I know I'm right about this guy. This guy knew about all the dangers, all the risks and chose this life from whenever he decided to runaway. Look, he decided to shoot up even though he knew he'd get aids. Did it anyway. Do you pity girls who get pregnant when they know what will happen if they dont use a condom? I'm done.
if they were too young to fully comprehend the consequences of pregnancy, then yes. If not, i would pity their kids. What makes you think that he chose this life? most homeless kids end up on the street due to no fault of their own and once on the streets, it is virtually impossible not to go on drugs because reality is too harsh to tolerate. We don't know much about this guy and what we do know does not give us enough information to judge him.
@someonenoticeimdead When u live in such conditions and face such harsh reality since being homeless as a kid, you take drugs and so on just so that for a short moment, you could forget reality.I think we know what you are trying to say.But some of these kids were homeless since being a kid some as young as 5 and they dont know any better.
ppl, they will never overcome their addictions, their lives are bound to be like this until they die. but really they don't mind, they might say that yeah they want a better life, but if they got one they would not like it. they love the freedom that they have, they don't want to work, they want to sniff glue and drink vodka all day. they are used to this.
This is bad, really sad. But I'd say the situation is worse here in Brazil: at least these children are not shooting AK-47s to defend the drug traffic.
The problem is within the countries where this occurs most people who could make a difference just don't care. Believe me, I've lived in some of those places. However, I agree with you. Worldwide attention is needed.
I met my first street children in Odessa Ukraine in March of 2005. Drove me crazy seeing such young kids all alone on the streets. That experience changed me...
I saw street kids in Ukraine as well. I wish the world media would show that it's NOT only Africa that has problems. I'm glad it changed you b/c I know far too many ppl who are afraid of street kids or don't care about them.
@gunloc26 i know what u mean..i was on an island before when I was young and i saw kids begging and they were filthy.I havent been the same since..i do what i can ..always
