It was a choir who did that song here in Benton Harbor back in the 80's Bethelhem Temple now Greater Grace Temple under the leadership of Elder George Dewberry. I was trying to make a copy of the tape and recorder ate the tape.
WOW to hear the Concert chior sing takes me back to those day's to hear Eddie Rollins sing. we would have such a great time. he is Missed. I wish I could go back to those times

Yeah if you look at the liner notes in Ricky's album you'll see Timothy Wright's name. Ricky probably only writes about 30%-40% of his material.
I like this version just as much as his.
