Nokia n97 (defect?)

the blinking on the left is infrared light, not visible to the human eye but cameras pick it up... It's used in TV remotes and stuff, I'd assume that's the proximity sensor.

i had the same problem when i got my n97, the thing was i had to charge it and it WORKED PERFECTLY after i charged it.

You might try charging the phone. Primary charge is 6-12 hours.

blinking thinggy on the corner is the proximity sensor for those who didnt know... and yea this fone is laggy and slow at times.mines crash alot if i put tons of stuff to fill up the 32gigs..luckily i bought this fone to use as a flashdrive rather than a music/media player

i got the n97 mini and it works ok not the best but its ok freezes after so much use then have to take battery out and put it back in, herd the n97 mini was better to get than the original n97 due to it crashed alot dno though.

i have a nokia n97 and it has broken two times already, as we speak it is being fixed. both times my screen has completely shut off and stopped working, and hasnt been able to turn on. try sending it back, or taking out the battery and leaving it out for a couple of hours and resetting the phone.

good luck with your N97's . Mine broke with only 1 n half years of using it. Wont start even after flashing it back to it's original software. Need to bring it to NCC, a very crappy phone.

My son has one that has fallen apart, and now this bunch of Ass Clowns claim the ever present "moisture on the circuit board" as an out for the fact that a 5 month old phone is disitergrating as he uses it. I have owned Nokias for 12 years now but would seriously not be bothered owning another in the face of their "can't care" attitude, so poor for a multi billion dollar company.

cool video-worst phone i ever had-been back twice for the camera lens scratch issue, screen freeze and not repsonsive, soft unlock failure, when charger disconnected it still shows charging, and now been back for no gps signal for 3 repairs. Still they dont swap or update it. I now have problem where after pcsuite update it keeps disconnecting my phone. even as latest firmware too, soft and hard reset does not work also :?(

I am not sure but try to power it on while pressing both the end and send buttons (red and green) this will soft reset it...

there is another buttons combination which I dont remember to hard reset it (search for it... it's space + something...)
