but when you don't have so straight legs then you can't do it! when ur legs look like an x you're not possible to do that and in first position the most important thing is that you have (make) straight legs!

not everyone can put their heels together. if someone is hyper extended it is IMPOSSIBLE for that person to put their heels together and still have their legs straight...ive been dancing for 17 years and am in college as a dance major

Err, I don't think that's true... because hyper-extension doesn't form a straight line. So if the leg is truly straight, and NOT hyperextended, they should be able to have their heels together. Now if their calves are too big... that's another issue.

Nope - my dd goes to a professional ballet school, and what they say is true - If a dancer's legs are truly hyperextended, they can't touch their heels in first if they're doing everything else correctly.
