  • This actually looked pretty good! Loved Aprils part.

  • eh...looked kinda lame. they all had weird models. also needs more pizza and one liners.

  • shredder in red and gold! PROGRESS!

  • were totally geting our biscuts kicked this looks awsome

  • Looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than TMNT: Next Mutation

  • Sound track was cool

  • With nowaday's CGI tech, this project might have easily become more appealing.

By-the-by, does anyone else have the feeling that this project may have had some influences on the 2003 cartoon series?

  • y wasn't this picked up?!

  • ...and by original voice actors I mean the ones from the 2003 series lol sry

  • Not bad...I wish they'd use the original voice actors tho...

  • the CGI could use a li'l polishing up, but the plot seems interesting. they brought back classics like the Triceratons and Casey in his classic attire.

  • for the love of god, let them make a cartoon verion insted with a GOOD story and fight scenes like the 90s version

  • reminds me of beast wars

  • this would have made a good PS1 game (graphics and all)

  • suckss

  • Maybe they should have done something like that after the fifth season of 2003, instead of FF and BTTS...

  • April sounds like Tina Fey

  • anyone know when this was produced?

  • That's why I always thought that martial arts looks better in CGI than in traditional animation.

And there are so much things remainding me about new series - Foot Logo, Turtlevan looks almost the same as in the new cartoon. Foot Soldiers looks almost like Foot Tech ninjas. Triceratons almost the same. I wonder is this big robot in the end had something to do with Baxter Stockman?

Anyway it doesn't look that bad for 2001. Though I dislike April, Casey and Shredder designs.

  • What year did this come out?

  • for the record this WAS picked up, but they thought it would be better animated. Funny note this was the EXACT trailer they showed at ny applecon for nicks turtle reboot in 2012 the only difference was some graphical changes, the foot soldiers looked like the ones from the 80's the triceratops were rocksteady beebop and the fly, and the little robots were mousers and the robot at the end was a metallic turtles who talked like mikey.

  • It looked ok but a never on T.V Did they try to come out with the show since the CGI Movie that I think was AWESOME but better if real life film

  • lol this looks super gay and super cool at the same time.

  • For back then, honestly, the CGI is still pretty bad honestly, i guess this was made a year before Spider-Man MTV though because that had GREAT CGI animation.

The voice acting and designs are pretty meh though, and the writing is horrible. Plus the CGI, if this cartoon was released then it still wouldn't have looked good.

I wish for the 2012 TMNT series they'd just go with the designs from the 2007 movie and the voice actors, story aside, they were my favorite.

  • I like to see these things ... but it would be a shame that with the beauty that is the traditional anmiación, decided to do a series with this style of animation.

For it should be investing just as invested in the movie of 2009. And in a TV series that's unthinkable, so I hope they decide to do a series of animation to traditional, but with a pococ more stylish designs.

I just hope they make a version nikolodeon traditional animation ...

  • wow they look fat

  • I love how Mikey get's smacked upside the head for saying "TURTLE POWER!"

Now why didn't Donny get slapped for saying "Mega modification!"?

Oh, wait, his staff got cut in half. XD

(Okay, the line wasn't that bad. =D)

Anyway, this doesn't look that bad, really. The CGI is pretty good for back then.

  • I see why it was never picked up... I'm a life long TMNT fan and this just looks horrible.

  • Geez, you know there's a problem when your cartoon's animation makes Reboot look good.

  • mikey:turtle power!

    leo:*smacks mikey*

    mikey:oww

    lol

  • Was this real?

  • @theShowStopper321 yeah but it noone likd it

  • @theShowStopper321 it was gonig to be until it wasn't picked up.

  • this is super cool

  • Kinda reminds me of Beast Wars for whatever reason

  • This looks like PSX graphics

  • @Nolus20

    nah, more like Dreamcast.

  • @piphus yeah you're right!

  • This SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is front the new nickelodion show or the movie of 2007?

  • Neither.

  • gee I wonder why this was never picked up.

  • 3:39

WTF are the Extreme Dinosaurs doing on the TMNT's universe??

  • You mean the Triceratons?

  • Oh, they are regular characters? I didn't remember them at all.

  • Well, there was a Triceraton action figure in the 80's series - but they became regular characters with fgures in the 2002/3 series. There were a lot of "Space" episodes that had them featured.

  • @BohemianBlasphemy

They are Triceratons. A recurring alien race in the original black & white tmnt comic books. They actualy predate tmnt appearing in other comics Mirage published before the turtles.

The 80's cartoon was nothing like the comic but they did feature in one episode "Night of the Dark Turtle" and they had an action figure in the old toyline.

The newer show being closer to the original comics features them quite a bit.

  • THIS IS OKAY...I GUESS?

  • wow shredder does not look scary at all

  • God who ever the artists were in this were awful.

  • 4:50 the twin towers? how old is this vid?

  • @hemiputer i guess it had to be somwhere near the year i was born 1996.

  • Cooool!! 8D

Where can i see this vid? Or was't never Published?

  • the animation makes it look like a PS1 game.

  • The animation is sporadic its excellent in some parts but others look like crap. Why do they need casey jones now? The orignal show didn't need him tagging along. the foursome is more than enough. At least it has the humor.

  • this doesn't look bad

  • Is that...Phil LaMarr as Splinter? I'll be damned.

Well, I liked 'The Roughneck Chronicles', but not for the CGI animation. I'd say we came out ahead with the fantastic animation provided by Dong Woo.

  • LMAO this vid is hilarious!

  • Ugh, I'm glad this series never got off the ground. The new cartoon (which seems to have obviously taken some elements from this such as the Battle Shell and Mikey's lack of his catch phrase, as well as the Triceraton invasion, which comes from the old comics actually...) is more enjoyable, though still cheesy at times.

  • COWUBU....

Hey we talked about that hahaha

  • Remindes me of the old cartoon and the old movies

  • That's one of the best TMNT clips I've seen in a long time.

  • Man this is awesome!

  • 0:58 that guitar sounds awesome!! I wish they would have made this :(

  • Why the hell didn't this show get picked up? It looks pretty good. It looks like it had potential to be even better than the new cartoon series they have now.

  • it wasn't that good but when they did the 03 cartoon it was based on it so if you look at the cartoon then you are looking at this.

  • Even though the CGI aint good (and maybe because it is from the 90's *shrugs* this still looks way more promising for it looks accurate and true to the original comics. The peril and action, it just looks...fucking cool. Why could TMNT movie be like this?

  • Raph sounds pretty lame in this, as opposed to the badass he's supposed to be.

  • Shredder: "Destroy Them." *in shredder's mind: For no reason?*

  • cool 0:59

  • giant walking turtles mustve been difficult to cgi xD

  • This shit is fucking LAME!

    TMNT 1987 > ALL

  • All then original cartoon has going for it is nostalgia. Other than that it's horrible compared to the newer cartoon.

  • Actually, the old cartoon was very creative and imaginative. The new cartoon piggy backs off the comic book.

TMNT was at its height in the late 80s and throughout the 90s. It's already documented. The newer cartoons couldn't garner the same popularity.

  • the newer cartoon was far truer to how they're supposed to be.

  • Man, I had so much TMNT paraphernalia when I was a kid that it wasn't even funny. Shirts, blankets, underpants, games, toys, shoes, life-size stickers I had placed on my bedroom walls of every main character (save April), baseball bats, etc....

Growing up in the 90s was beyond awesome. I REALLY miss those good times. I don't know why your comment made me remenisce so much =/.

  • Dude, your awesome. Someone buy BasePlug a KitKat Bar. I was almost the same way for Transformers a couple years earlier. Save for the underpants thing. LOL.

  • Oh god, don't hide behind that OR nostalgia to support the 80s cartoon. I hate it when people do that.

And by the old cartoon being creative and imaginative, I take it you mean the characters and character designs. A lot of the plots and humor hasn't aged well in 25 years.

Don't get me wrong, I like both cartoons. I'm just saying neither is perfect.

  • the newer one has all my friends and even alot of adult's say it is better if your a true fan of the turtles you would like the new one not that garbage from the 80s it was ok but it didn't deserve the name teenage mutant ninja turtles.

  • @WECENANUFF You say "Piggy backing off the comic" like as if it's a bad thing.

  • this one of my many favs turtles rule

  • pilot episodes usually don't have as good of animation as the actual series does so it would have been interesting to see how good this could have been if it took flight.

  • No Doubt!

  • This would be a great show, if the amination was better

  • did 4kids have any influence on this? It looks like the movies based on the 2003 version

  • actually 03 is based of this

  • wrong... 03 is loosely based off the original comic.

  • no actually it is based of both go check it out.

  • This would be great for an Xbox or pc game...

  • it would have be great cgi for a ps 1 game back in the day

  • When you think about it I think it was going to be a good game on ps1

  • thank god it was never picked up

  • Animation sucks.

  • But the fighting is good.

  • Agreed.

  • I don't think this was the final rendering of the animation, regardless this was never picked up as a series so what difference does it make right?

  • not so bad!

  • well,nice,but the 2003 series are far,far the best...

  • The episodes based off of the comics anyway. The first season of the 1987-1988 series are also badass, but neither the television shows or movies hold up to the awesomeness of the original Mirage comics themselves.

  • cool

  • they look all deformed!!

  • THAT WAS AWESOME!!!

    how old is this?!?

  • i bet if they redid it today,

    it would look alot better,

  • I would have totally watched this show.

  • supuse 2 be a movie

  • The triceratops thing was on the cover of tmnt 3 manhattan project for NES!

  • triceratons have been in the turtles comic like 4 ever

  • This looks cool. When was this made? It looked dark like the comics but still had goofy dialog. Way better than the turtles show thats on now.

  • I'm glad this wasn't made because TV CGI gets dated really fast... and there was some pretty awful dialog. The new show was definitely the better choice (for the first 4 seasons anyway).

On the other hand, I really do appreciate the "1990 movie" feel this has, especially Don's fight with the Foot ninja. And overall the animation isn't too bad either... probably wouldn't have stayed good in a weekly show, though.

Oh, and as a comics fan, Triceratons are always welcome. :) Nice to see 'em here.

  • good trailer!!

  • Mirage-

isn't that the CGI group that made the movie?

  • Actually, Mirage makes the comics.

  • Narrator:They'll face things not of this earth!

Leo: What the heck is that?

    Raph: I don't know...but it's not of this earth!

  • i always liked the way the classic Shredder looked, but is cool also in this video, the turtles look a little bit chubby

  • i wanna see a tmnt cartoon with that film noir style like the original comics

  • this looks more like a early version of the tmnt 2003 series

  • Aw that was cool. Too bad it never became a show.

One thing...this isn't a 'pilot'. A pilot is usually the first EPISODE of a new show. This was more like a trailer.

  • Costumes is much better for me.

Just think about it if they will use this CGI then those costumes will just go to waste. Can any of you get my point?

  • What year was this supposed to be releasd?

  • did April just say "Fuck" at 2:39???

also I would like to see this actually, was this the original look for the 2002 series

  • i think it was but i think this was the way they should have gone with the new movie they were way to skinny, like normal human skinny, these look more realistic in sghape don't ya think??

  • I still prefer the costume ones :P Nothing will ever beat those movies in my opinion atleast

  • i agree, but this would be a good show.. I went to the TMNT music concert back in the days! good jamz. lol

  • i won't dissagree with you there but that was part of my argument the costumes were realistic in shape and size, the new cgi were just cartoons, nothing more nothing less not much of a story either but who knows maybe the next one will be better

  • It Looks COOL

But the quality of the film i fink will be a bit of a problem Looks Cool though

  • That was better than the entire new TMNT... It stayed true to the original movie which was so awesome. What a shame it failed.

  • I just want a PG-13 turtle movie and smarter/longer realistic fighting secuences. I really think they can make a really good PG-13 with those four. But really I don't see any nija in their way of fight, The fighting secuence between Ralph and Leo in TMNT was good though.

  • that looks absolutely garbage

  • donatello sounds like silver the hedgehog

  • Why they have to screw with April's look for- and why does she know kung fu all of a sudden? I don't know why, but that just makes me mad...

  • I think she started learning in the begining of TMNT 3 if Im not mistaken. If you read the prequel comics she takes it up during the time between 3rd and 4th movie. I think it was the obvious direction for her character. i mean knowing 5 Nina masters and always in the line of fire and danger, she should be able to get to know some self defense. much better than the stereotypical damsel in distress.

  • In the comics, Splinter taught her to defend herself, and they always wanted to evolve the character into other media like that. They finally did so with the 2000's series (as they progressed) and fourth film.

  • Typical words of a Nostalgic 80s kid. Not all female characters have to be completley useless.

  • no wonder they went with the animated version, this old cgi just doesn't make them dinamic enough. the new one however, has the movie shows is awsome but still too much work to make an entire series with that quality

  • This idea was scrapped for the 2003 series. Once Image saw a real advancement in CGI they went out and did there movie franchise on TMNT in CGI. Or should I say continued the franchise in 3D. seeing as TMNT is a direct sequel to Turtles in Time. there is a second CGI movie in the works. So dont fret. And I can only imagine how cool the Shredder will look!

  • IMAGi were contacted by Mirage (the owners of the TMNT Franchise) as Peter Laird always wanted the next logical step for the TMNT to do something with CGi, after they quit the development for the 2001 series, it was decided to make the fourth film CGi, seeing that they already had done three in live-action and a tv show. And the third film is not called Turtles in Time, that's the video game. And they are working on a fifth film, but it might not be in CGi as IMAGi are almost bankrupt.

  • your right, it was just titled TMNT: III, not Turtles in Time. Peter Laird has stated that he wont go total CGI in the 5th film and instead do a live-action film with CGI turtles. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Chris Evans reprising their roles as April and Casey respectively in real life.

  • Peter Laird has stated that he WANTS to have the fifth film live action with CGi Turtles and getting Chris Evans and Sarah Michelle Gellar. But currently, the actors aren't even in talks. The movie is in very big development stages and might take any format now.

  • as long as he doesn't look how he did in the 2003 cartoon. I hated what they did to him all around.

  • The animation sucked. It was like someone was going all out making a video of an unfinished video game. But other than that ... I might have gave it a look if it made it on the air.

  • 2009 or 2010

  • when does this air?

  • It doesn't.

Does no one read the descriptions?

  • interesting but why is Splinter on his death bed?!

  • dunno, he did die in the comicbooks though

  • awesome vid, but the turtles looks a little bit funny

  • April knows Kung fu? Who knew?!

  • You would figure she would be learning stuff from the turtles right? lol

  • lol, "turtle power, ow"

  • "They will face things that are not of this earth."

    "What the heck are those?"

"I dunno, but they're not of this earth!"

I can't tell if that's a joke or bad writing...

It looks like it would've been a good show, if they fixed the animation. It really does stink. =/

  • I thought that was hillarious lmao

  • This looks like it would've made an awesome PS1 game.

But as a series? Shell no.

  • the fat turtles?

  • The actual pilot is 3 hours and 10 minutes long! :O

  • That was great! It's a shame that this new series was never finished. I would have LOVED to see that, or at least another CGI movie...

  • It was finished it became that cartoon on Fox23, its the same show just 2d instead of 3d

  • Ah, I don't have Fox23. (I'm in the French part of Canada and I don't even have the cable... :S)

I've seen the 2003 TMNT episodes though. So you're saying that this is what the series was supposed to look like at first? Interesting.

  • yup same ideas, even the triceratops dudes were in it, i wouldnt worry too much, it sux.

  • CGI Triceratons, that would have been funny! Ah well, if we didn't miss anything interesting, it's alright that the show was just 2D then. I thought it was a new one they had completely cancelled, but if it was replaced by the cartoon, the result was cool.

  • All in all i would have liked to see it in 3d myself.

  • The Triceratons were from the original Black & White comics and have been mainstay Turtle bad guys throughout various parts of the franchise. They even had an them in an episode of the old '87. It wasn't something exclusive to the 2k3 series.

  • When was this from?

  • WHY ARE TURTLE FIGHT ON TRUCK?

  • wow the animation sucks. it looks mocapped but the key frames never got fixed. The shader looks horrible. i could have rendered that in a game engine. and the models suck.
