  • Dont listen to this guy, i play midget AAA hockey im on a 34 point season and i tie my laces around the back... it is watever you prefer!

  • Thank you for the suggestion. I guess I was just wrapping around because I have long laces and I saw some other people doing it. Forgot the old double tie trick my dad showed me for work boots ; ^) I am giving it a try.

  • woah woah woah, black and english and ice never heard of that!

  • or just pass up the top two eyelets and wrap around the heel... there's no restriction of the ankle...

  • i have to add more laces and wrap them around my heel because my skates are too wide :s

  • I always tie my laces around my skates...you just tied them around wrong. You tie them around under the heel.

  • sometimes the laces break the tendon guards

  • holy shit a black guy ice!?!?

  • When I wrapped mine I tied them then I wrapped them then ties again

  • I use wax moulded laces, and the reason why I tie around the back is to lock the laces togeher so they don't come loose.

  • i have done it that way for years and i am fine at skating. Also had the same pair of skates for over 5 years and the tendon guard is perfect. Thats why you buy Easton skates lol

  • Untill

  • I used to wrap my laces around the back of my skate cause I like tight skates around the anckle and lower leg area

Infill I got my New eastons in july

And now I got 9k pumps so the pump holds my ancle in place so no need to tie around that back

  • its very ok if you wrap the laces between the first and second lace-hole(??? is that the right word? ^^) around the skate. but the shown version is WRONG. the laces mustnt touch your socs or your skin, otherwise it will hurt xD

  • Oh shit Alexandra Palace. Last time I was there was in 2007. Thats when I brought my VApor xxxx over from New York...

  • I have had the same skates for over 10 years (Bauer Supreme 4000). With playing year round the Bauer skate which I have had since like age 14 have seen no adverse effects from the front side or back where the laces go around the ankle (there are a lot of other areas which are falling apart big time though, lol). I do personally have range of moving my foot forward and back. I think it’s a personal preference but I can't agree with it ruining the skate because it has never happened to me

  • i used to do that until i got new skates and the laces were not long enough to go around lol

  • Fucking Smart ! Been skating for years and I've always tied my skates wrong the back ...but I'll stop now ..thanks man

  • i had NO idea!!! thanks for the tip.

  • Depends on the skate you're using. For mine, tying the laces at the back happens out of necessity. The laces are a touch bit too long so I have to wrap them around to get them out of the way. I wrap them right before the tendon guard and there is no impact on mobility.

  • @NoClue1472

Double knot....or tuck them under your shin pads

  • @Burbysliwk

Never said that I needed suggestions because it's not a problem for me. Thanks anyways.

  • Double loop when tying believe me doesn't move

  • And what kind of shit skates are you using?

  • Its mainly on personal preference. My brother doesn't tie his around but I do. Loose makes give more motion and tied around keeps your foot a little more still. All personal preference.

  • Thanks, I've been doing that for a while and now I know why not to! :)

  • telford ice rink is a shithole

  • People who wrap their laces tend not to use the top two eyelets...Therefore, there is no restriction. In fact, not using the top two eyelets gives you a greater range of motion.

  • Telford ice rink the local....??

  • @BeastlyJoee This was indeed recorded at Telford, our local ice rink is now Alexandra Palace as we're only around Telford for a few weeks.

  • @juvenilee6videos

aah nice one i play for the junior ice hockey team :)

  • @juvenilee6videos im going there tomorrow :D

  • Im gong kill cousin he told me to tie them around -.-

  • 0:40 for video. your welcome

  • We used to tie around the ankles in the old days when we had leather booted tube skates in order to add support.

Modern skates give superb ankle support so there's no need to tie the ankle.

Hockey players should aquire wax laces if possible. They minimize lace slippage in the eyelets and add support.adding greater support.

  • 4 people don't know anything about skates ! i learnt this after my tendon guard kept going soft or breaking on older skates. ask your hockey store and see

  • the guy at hockeymonkey europe said the same thing, wrapping them around restricts movement and damages skate quickly

  • I give you a lot of credit fr=or making this video at Coney Island, where the Greater New York Stars play hockey, I disagree though on this because it is based on opinion, I love to tie my skates around, I like how tight my ankles are to my Total Ones, and being sponsered by Bauer makes everything easier

  • agree with everything said :) i have size 9 skates (easton) and i have laces for skates for size 7. the correct laces make such a massive diference

  • Chris with all do respect it either support nor restrict anything....modern skate way to stiff for regular laces...

  • Can you show how to tuck in your tongues ?

  • Thank You!

I was not sure if i have to buy new laces or put the ends of the laces in to my skate :)

  • You wrapped them the wrong way. Where do you play hockey?

  • @Gretzky8899 he said an example of what not to do, learn to listen. this explains a point not show you how to do it exactly the way you like. Im German and I can understand that !

  • i wish this was a more popular vid god the amount of people i see at streatham with laces done up wrong defies belief well done mate :)

  • cant find ur song on ur site!

  • @cwxzeng new songs are being updated tomorrow, keep an eye out ;)

  • good choice of music bro

  • Heres a tip..

insted of keeping ur finger dwn when ur going to do the 2nd knot.

when u do ur 1st not, you shud double it then it holds it in place when ur going to do the 2nd know so u dnt have to strain ur fingers

  • @localfools
