Seems like he's using the "minimum movement" principle often taught to classical players. ..your fingers only lift off a little distance from the strings -more efficient.

Hey, that's a very beautiful sound you've got there! Witch amp do you use and is that a gibson es 335 ? You should check out the canton jazz guitars, expensive but very good quality and amazing sound !!

Would you mind describing how you are recording these videos ? The specific software package(s) you are using to manage the video and audio prior to uploading ? Its a very good sound and clear picture quality - and a cut above what you hear on the typical YouTube guitar-oriented videos. And good playing also !

@bowiemott I use a Canon Vixia hfm 300 & record audio in cubase. Then I edit video & audio in sony vegas.

Great lesson. Jazz is becoming too interesting ...more and more. I know about modes but my "wall" now is which scale can I use over a chord. That chord has root, minor 3rd, minor 7th and major 9th you can use dorian and any of the minor scales? Am I right?
